  • As you have witnessed on every single project I carry out, I can not leave anything alone. So I have decided to try making my own DIY door panels for the Buick but these steps apply to a whole lot of other G-bodies!
    ENJOY!
    Don’t forget to check out the IG and Facebook pages for the channel where I post almost daily all the little shenanigans I encounter day to day driving my Buick Grand National.

    I'm all for this. Guys on the boards have been installing XFI, different suspensions, different blocks, just about everything, while holding onto that purist mentality lol, then suddenly they will criticize you about changing the interior after all that lol. Good job Vee! I would even consider going with Gray vinyl with Black trim pieces for the door panels, then matching a set of racing seats the same way, Gray Vinyl w/Black inserts (w/the Grand National insignia, of course). Would look killer...

      That is very true. I've noticed so many guys on the g-body forums doing tons of power adders. But leave the interior absolutely original. Which is fine. But when the exterior screams race car, and the interior shouts get of my lawn (grandpa), it kind of bothers me. Lol.

      You guys wanna see one of hell of a bad ass Regal, even color scheme wise? Don't get me wrong, I love Grand Nationals, in fact my own build was inspired by Steve Kaminski, owner of that infamous '85 Black TTA running the 3.8 Turbo, but this Regal is just flat out awesome. Search this in the youtube search bar, you won't be disappointed...

    I got to do the same thing in the monte. I don't have any centre console at the moment. And I'm wanting to do a full colour change on the interior to black. So I can fully have the car murdered out. But I'll add red stitching to all the factory seems, so it matches the SS red strips on the dash

      Is this a real car, or do you mean GTAIV...? ;)
      If real, throw up some vids, always loved those cars...

      I was thinking about doing a textured vinyl with some blue or black stitching to blend it in.

      Street Lethal definitely real. It's been on my snapchat a bunch. Don't have time for videos right now. Would love to make some. But don't have a good enough camera for it. Need to buy replacement batteries for my one good camera.

      VenomGT87 depending on the type of texture that could look really good. Or you could split materials. Do textured on the upper door panel. And like a plush (factory) type material in different colour on the lower or something. Do a dark lower, lighter upper.

      Definitely, I was thinking of doing the upper edge on the textured vinyl and the lower half on a cloth like the factory piece like you mentioned, the thing is I feel the seam might look out of place because the stations dont run the full length of the panel.

    Hi. Do you know what's a good turbo for my V6 Buick series 2 manual 1994.any information much appreciated. 👍🏆🙌

      It would really depend on how you plan on plumbing it and power goal. You'd be better off going with a 4 bolt flange so you can really choose any turbo. I would say, based on what the 3.8 likes a nice TA49 (58mm turbo) with a .63 or equivalent exhaust housing would be your best bet.

    I thought the door panels basically match the grey on the seats

    • @VenomGT87
      @VenomGT87  6 лет назад

      They match the color but I have seen 3 different patterns on the upper panels, never really cared to look into which one is correct lol
