Nice video, thank you Jart for the compilation. Hard piece, maybe someday I'll learn it too :) My favorite performer in this video was the ? pianist and the best play was from Zongshu Wu I think.
Thank you for the comment! This piece is definitely on my "attempt" list. My favourites were probably Seon Yong Hwang and Nick Jimenez. I'd love to see Yi Chung Huang tackle this.
@@Jartiousyi chung will not be able to play it faster than seonyong. we have the same handspan (hyper extension to reach 10th) and i can barely even move my hand the same speed back and forth as seonyong (who can comfortably reach 11th) WITHOUT playing notes. large hand span is such a cheat code on this etude. if i ever get my hands on a smaller keyboard i can play it at the intended tempo probably
Weller is the slowest, but cleanest. Hwang extremely impressive! Wu also very impressive. Jimenez is good, but his keyboard clicking sounds are louder than the actual notes 😭
he doesn't even play it right. he completely omits the octaves (in the triplet section too 🤦♀️) which defeats the whole point of the etude also what makes Nick's performance even more impressive is that it's harder to play this on non-weighted keys
How do you talk about the "right tempo" if there is no tempo marking? Are you basing your choice of tempo off of some random midi maker 10 years ago lol
@@Medtszkowski I don't get it though. All of these other composers wrote hard impossible stuff but none of it sounds as good as Liszt or Chopin or Rachmaninoff. Probably cuz they ain't nearly as good of a composer idk though.

Seon Yong Hwang NAILS this piece. Makes it look like a child's piece.
yeah this pieces, in its context, like a typical Czerny etude, wasn't meant to be perofrmed
Oh I wasn't expecting my clip to be there lol, I've played the rest of the coda but only that section stayed in my memory for some reason.

bro that ain't even a Scherzo speed. bro played it like a Minuet

At least spell their name right
@@herobrine1847 You mean the fact that Weller was misspelled Weiller?
I wonder if this was based on my playlist :P
Anyways, nice video! Chad Gardner used to have a performance but he deleted his channel.
I did get most of the vids from your playlist and I can credit it if you want. I was wondering what the heck happened to Chad's channel.
Chad if you're reading this, please reupload your videos!
i know you found nick jimemez from me mr wu :p
thanks for including me!
but why is my video frozen 💀
I dunno, it just did 🤷♂
@@Jartious:(
Could Méreaux himself play this shit
i doubt this will ever be performed perfectly at the right tempo

@@zswu31416i believe mereaux himself played it somewhere between seonyong and Hubert M midi tempo due to large hands and small keyboard
Can you cut out mine? I unlisted that video
@@nickwilson107 I'm not sure if I could do that without deleting the whole video. Maybe I could unlist mine as well
@@JartiousHi, I think you can trim your video after it’s been uploaded
@@nickwilson107 Ah I see, I will do it later as I'm on a journey right now.
@@JartiousThank you, sorry for the trouble
@@nickwilson107 no problem. Would you like me to delete this comment thread as well?
this is actually isn't that hard bc you just need technique (why its called etude)
Kinda ironic lol (needing technique to play something that will give you the technique needed to play it)
pretty trash piece
:(
It’s much better than le preux thoufh

@@Dabblzz55 yeah mereaux isn’t the best. But I don’t believe he deserves to go in **absolute** obscurity
@@Dabblzz55i mean, it is an etude just like czerny or stuff
