Sometimes it's nice to play a game where it just wants to tell a story. Having a break from collecting 100 annoying artifacts, unlocking map fast travels or having to hunt and forage materials so you can advance.
That's called watching a movie or Netflix no?

The way you deliver (almost) every line the same way makes this video feel like an hour long.

The visuals, especially the lighting combined with the audio experience, are like something out of an IMAX production. Top quality stuff! Looking forward to how other studios will explore UE5 with upcoming titles.
They really bring out the best of Unreal Engine 5.

Sometimes simplicity in gameplay elements is a boon in disguise. It ensures the story and atmosphere have room to breath and take center stage. If anything else Hellblade 2 shows again people are having difficulty accepting what a "game" can be for an audience. It doesn't matter if its running time is long or short, if its open world or lineair, has replayability or not. It doesn't matter if this is a walking sim or a game filled to the brim with expected upgradable skill trees. Hellblade 2 doesn't need to be a game for everyone, but it can be a game for you. Those that liked or loved the first game know what they are in for.

Only a hour or so in and this game is stunning. Played alongside with a head set it's really immersive. Really enjoying it

The combat and "puzzles" are what bounced me off the first one and hearing that the sequel doesn't really improve on those things is kind of a deal breaker for me. Bummer.
Combat is simpler but more intense. Puzzles are simpler and less difficult.
If you liked the visuals, immersion and story and sounds from the first. That's what this second one is.

Another Xbox game from this generation with an over inflated score, just like Halo Infinite and Starfield.
And people were saying that Alan Wake 2 is a heavy game, Hellblade 2 just shows us that there are still a lot of Hardware power in the current Generation of Consoles, developers just need to stop making broken games specially those powered by Nvidia.
Buddy it's a linear game with just her mostly not open world fights are 1 on 1 if it was open world it wouldn't look anyhting like this they only achieved what they have because of the design choices they made and being a linear game

Yes. But RE3 is much more fun because it has great gameplay and replayability. This has none of that.

Theres this thing called a save game, it allows people with limited time to save their game and continue on when they have more time. its an amazing innovation, so you dont need to complete a game in one sitting. great stuff.

It's brilliant. Unreal Engine 5 is....unreal. finally feels like we're getting a 'next gen' game. Sure, gameplay isn't perfect but the immersive atmosphere and story are amazing.

The game looks PHENOMENAL! If you haven't played it you really need to because it looks like you're playing a movie. Even button prompts aren't given adding to the immersion (unless there's an option for that in accessibility options).
Looking forward to it. Due to the 6 hours and graphical demand, I'll likely wait to purchase on Steam for my PC

5-6 hours of walking through pretty environments that are not destructible and you cannot interact with.
Occasional combat with the jaw dropping total of one (1) enemy at a time on screen.
You have basic rock paper scissors options of attack, block and dodge !!!
All this on the most powerful console in the world at a rock solid thirty (30) fps !!

Im a Xbox gamer & the first Hellblade is in my top 5 favorite games of all time & Hellblade 2 is even better.

Stellar Blade is objectively a better game in every single way (except maybe graphics and acting), but gameplay, combat, progression, variety, FUN FACTOR, replayability, everything! In every single objective metric Stellar Blade is a far superior game, and yet you somehow scored it lower?? It makes zero sense.
That´s "game journos" for ya, they don´t want actual games, where you actually have to play them.
They want "interactive experiences", basically movies.
They liked this better because they didn't have to spend as much time playing. Gaming journos don't like gaming, they like walking sims.
Freeying the giant was epic . Never seen this type of cinematics in a game.
Biggest fail is the fact they didn’t even go a little more in depth then the first with the combat.
6 hours is a perfect length for this style of game. Not every game has to be massive to be enjoyable. Would rather have short tight experiences than giant flabby ones, valhalla etc

If you have stick drift on your Xbox controller like me, you need to sometimes wiggle the stick in the opposite direction so you don't actually walk into the invisible walls to either side of you. So no it's not always holding up.

This game is a work of art, i’ve never seen such graphics in a game.
This was the perfect chance to improve the combat but it's not deep which is a let down.
Making a game that lasts 6 hours is like being able to perform in bed for just 3min.

My favorite part is the holding the left stick forward for 40 mins straight and the 3rd act where you light torches for an hour. Peak gaming.
