Another great vlog I could be interested in fishing party but im in Kent when are you and Chris going fishing together next do you not feel funny talking to yourself
That is a good question Mark Hopefully get a session with Chris later this year. yep Kent is a good old drive mate. As for the talking to yourself question Nope ….it feels perfectly normal as I treat the camera as its YOU I’m talking to, I very rarely talk in the third person and I adopt a one to one approach, I do this intentionally. I want you to feel like you are sat there with me and sharing the experience, believe it or not I also have people whom have poor eyesight and simply listen to the video which is why I explain the environment and what’s going on more than most. I treat each video as a separate story I’m not out to impress anyone, just sharing the moment and I hope that comes across. GREAT QUESTION thank you regards Matt
Said it before...and I'll say it again...bloody love your videos Maff !!....Thank you for all your effort and hard work for our pleasure !!, Tight lines mate....👍
I know what you mean Bill, I wasn't holding my breath for a fish on this one...... but I wasn't going to give up. My fishing time is precious and once I'm booked on. I'm going to give it my best shot...👍
Happy new year great to see u back out especially at a venue and lake I know well (I've never seen it that high before) . Great vlog look forward to the next
Hi Mate, despite the crap weather and high water i really enjoyed the session I'm going to try this lake a few times this year may do another session in Feb. regards Matt
I really enjoyed the video Maff, and good to see you out on the bank again. It was a big ask to catch in those conditions, so no surprise it was a blank. Hope it is not too long before you are videoing another bankside session.
Didn't really expect any results in that water but it was fun trying and more important nice break, Yes ive now been told a few times that they like zigs here. Thank you for your comment. regards Matt.
Tough conditions on the bank there Matt, all credit to ya for grinding away. I'll be keeping an eye out for the CHUF social details as I would love to get involved.
Hey maff love your video as always and a good laugh. I thought to mention one thing about those reels, they are great and I had 4 of them,(fox 12000xc) but I did notice one design flaw and fox didn't want to know when I reached out to them. when the spool is fully extended and you want to flick The bail arm it catches the spool and doesn't allow you too the angle of the bail arm is wrong on them slightly but it's only when the spool is fully extended. So you just got to bare that in mind before casting. Thanks for your videos
Good to see you back out Matt and I see with the new casting tools you’ll be giving us some lessons at Norton on this year’s CHUF social 😂 hope you don’t draw a margin swim eh. See you in a few months 👍🏼
Hi Steve yeh i wasn't surprised about the blank really especially in those conditions but I bleeding well enjoyed my three days chilling out ....loved it and i will go back to this lake.
Enjoyed the vlog. Nice to see an honest review of the rods and reels. Been thinking about buying a set of the shimano ultegra’s for a while but keep hearing about the same problems with them. Your review has definitely made my mind up not to buy a set of ultegra’s. 👍
Thank you Christopher, Yes those reals were a real problem for me but the new rods and reals felt really good. I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform this year but a very positive start, regards Matt
what line are you using to cast?,if its more than .35- if you try .35 straight through, ive never found a 12ft 3.5lb rod that wont do 35 wraps, including 28 quid ones like my mates synapse rods and 35 quid prologics, etc etc, the line is a massive thing , combined with a 4oz fat nose distance lead, and practice, with them 13ft rods if you use .35 and a quick park practice i guess you would massively go further, still
Nash bullet line... The Shimano tribal extreme rods i had or still have, have just had there better days and gone a bit soft, like my old beach casting carbon rods. I'm looking forward to some practice and distance in the future 😁
Great to see you back on the bank maff.forget the haters it does say on your other video bait review what did the expect.maybe they have trouble reading.
Hi maff great to see you back on bank . Great video take my hat off to far stopping the full 3 night in the condition 😮 well done . At the end you mentioned the up coming social CHUF at Norton Disney is there a dates set far it yet . Keep up with the fishing thanks Paul
There will be a video coming out soon giving all the details to join us on the social. As for this session i was confident i was flogging a dead horse but i really enjoyed the challenge and the chill out 👍
Hi Carpfather, I just could not get on with these reels i replaced the line guards several times but for me far too frustrating, perhaps could have been my fault but unfortunately i lost the love 👍👍
LOL long answer you may need to scroll down .... Now to be fair ive seen this comment in the in tray and have been looking forward to answering it because.......I had never heard of it until i started carping so I am 100% guilty of monkey see monkey do... It falls in the same word category as watercraft and waterskills and you genuinely made me laugh asking this question. I guess I'm just as bad as all the rest..... Thank you @Wmcn55 for making find out the real meaning of the word LOL🤣🤣 ps...., Im still gunna use it 👍...... i like it......
Yep we spoke this week he likes his new drone but he cant fly it near where he lives due to the military air base nearby and yes I'm loving the new gear 👍😁 regards Matt
Hi Maff just dropped you a line just to say that I checked to see if I was still subscribed and I wasn’t so I resubscribed after a couple of days I checked again and I wasn’t subscribed so I have done it twice last week so it might be worth putting a comment out to tell people to check if they are still subscribed mate thanks and keep up the good work
Same for me with them bloody reels crap the bailarm to thin to kept bending in my rod bag need to make them better so got basias totally different ball game
Must admit Joe you wouldn't at first think reels could feel so different from each other but they genuinely do don't they. The instant recognizable differences can be very surprising. regards Matt 👍
Yep £2000 for a few yards LOL it does certainly look that way Graham 😁 I cant justify it one bit, just like all my other gear LOL. as for the bait boat had to test my boat now its been repaired/upgraded.... cant justify that money either.... bear in mind it if you ask the Mrs T UK she thinks it all costs just around £50.00 (lets hope she never sales anything)

Hello Ken, thank you, to be honest i didn't have high hopes when i first looked at the lake but three days challenge and chill out was just perfect 😁
Unlucky Maff i have blanked on there as well when it was normal levels. April and May tend to be good months on there Zigs and casting to shows
Didn't really expect any results in that water but it was fun trying and more important nice break, Yes ive now been told a few times that they like zigs here. Thank you for your comment. regards Matt.
Good to see you out again Maff great vid as usual 👍

WATERMANSHIP.....did you make that word up 😂
LOL long answer you may need to scroll down ....
Now to be fair ive seen this comment in the in tray and have been looking forward to answering it because.......I had never heard of it until i started carping so I am 100% guilty of monkey see monkey do... It falls in the same word category as watercraft and waterskills and you genuinely made me laugh asking this question.
Anyway moving on:- here is the background of said word
The word Watermanship
Word History:-First Known Use 1830,
Means
: technique or expertness in rowing
: technique or expertness in swimming
Clearly nothing originally to do with carping but neither was or is watercraft or waterskills all three are used in the same principle or concept to describe the act of
“understanding the water your fishing in an attempt to conquer its inhabitants.”
In actual fact, we carpers have adopted these words to fill the gap of what it is we are trying to achieve.!

ps...., Im still gunna use it 👍...... i like it......
Good rods and reels maff
Have you heard from carpking 71
Think he’s been playing with the drone that he got from Christmas
Yep we spoke this week he likes his new drone but he cant fly it near where he lives due to the military air base nearby and yes I'm loving the new gear 👍😁 regards Matt
i found with Shimanos if the spools are overfilled and to much line on the spools that's when you get problems with the line getting behind the guard
your right mate, too much line wont help one bit. thank you, regards Matt
unlucky maff would love to see a video on there main lake🎣
ruclips.net/video/DBBb903-dtI/видео.html this is the link for one I did in 2019 on quarry lake it was a social but good fun with Dave
Hi Maff just dropped you a line just to say that I checked to see if I was still subscribed and I wasn’t so I resubscribed after a couple of days I checked again and I wasn’t subscribed so I have done it twice last week so it might be worth putting a comment out to tell people to check if they are still subscribed mate thanks and keep up the good work
@rayshaw8891 thank you, Ray. I will do. Kind regards Matt
Hello mate, what rods and reels do you use?
In this one i have....... Rods..... Fox horizon 6 full shrink 13ft 3.75TC........ Reels Fox CX12000.....Line........... Nash bullet..... regards Matt
Same for me with them bloody reels crap the bailarm to thin to kept bending in my rod bag need to make them better so got basias totally different ball game
Must admit Joe you wouldn't at first think reels could feel so different from each other but they genuinely do don't they. The instant recognizable differences can be very surprising. regards Matt 👍

cheers Bud as always 😁
Wow over £2000 for a few yards. Why are you using a bait boat. Carp tax will get you some where. Great vlog. 🎣🎣
P,P,P,P,P,P 😄you know what it means 😉
Yes I know exactly what that means and of course your dead right lol 😆
update .....turned out the sonar was broken not the battery ....I guess some small consolation, but it did cost me another sonar 😒
