I'm laughing so much at the part where Sal says Magneto killed Senator Kelly. Because I remember when Magento says, "Senstor Kelly survived the swim to shore? He's become more powerful than I could have imagined!" 😂😂😂
This was my movie in second grade. Every Friday after school, I popped in that VHS.
People talk about how great the opening holocaust scene is but most of them don't even notice that it ends with a pan up to a gas chamber, that's great subtle writing
I'm really glad you guys speak mostly positively. It's the 'cool' thing to hate on those X-men movies as X-men Comic fans, but I think a lot of them are quite good.

I always liked that the X-Men (comics) gave diversity to the teams, showing it isn't only Americans with these powers. Nightcrawler (German) Colossus (Russian) Pyro (Australian) Magneto (Poland) Avalanche (Greece) Storm (Africa) Sunfire (Brazil) etc
There's a making-of documentary of this film where the filmmakers learn that Fox is pushing their release date ahead by nearly a year--meaning not only that their FX work gets rushed, but also that they need to cut the whole middle action scene out of the picture, since they haven't shot it yet. I think that's what accounts for the movie being so rushed. I suppose that probably wouldn't account for all the missing character development we'd all want, but it definitely feels like a lot of that gets jettisoned at the point they have to start cutting things to the quick.

It makes more sense to use hammetech for the sentinel. Starktech seems more preoccupied with hoarding military tech since they "quit" selling them.
The easter egg in the dvd where spider man shows up is awesome
Just so everyone is on the same page, fuck the Nazis. The opening scene of this movie is incredible with how it just pulls you right in on this character and you get his motivation instantly.

I was 11 when this movie came out and I remember not liking it because I wanted it to be more like the animated series. As an adult I've since come to appreciate it for what it is.

Not solicited but my hope for a core movie line would be Giant-size X-men, God Loves man Kills, Night of the Sentinels, Astroid M, E is for Extinction, Messiah Complex, Avengers vs X-men then go into the Hickman stuff i don’t believe for a second that we’ll get strait up adaptation but i hope that would be the through line with the other big story lines not mention as specials shows or direct to Disney plus movies and MCU cross over tentpoles like fatal attraction or onslaught or a mini series age of apocalypse the time travel and space stories i feel would work better in longer episodic narratives. My biggest wish though is that if they use zorn he’ll just be zorn as he’s first introduced. i liked the zen patient teacher for the delinquent class (Every one has their favorite mines Magneto?!??) Great show guys

We already got a version of God Loves, Man Kills with X2 so sorry, but it’s not happening. Avengers vs X-Men was a mediocre event and certainly could be improved on.
Cyclops as a character had really grown on me over the years and so has James madden potty Alvin him. I don’t think we have him a fair shot due to him being in the shadow of Hugh Hackman so if he reprised his role to get a roar shot I wouldn’t mind

I actually really like the black uniforms . I think when the mcu gets xmen they should either do the ultimate version of the u informs to look more as a team and a unit or they should have their best individual costumes and like a jacket or something like rouge let people know their team affiliation
The black uniforms take a lot of personality away from the characters though. Sure it makes them look more like a team but it also makes them a lot less distinct. Wolverine with the black uniform just looks like a tall attractive guy with weird hair for example

What's wrong with them trying to make an actual regular movie with superheroes like they were trying for with the X-Men and other movies at the time? Sure, there's room to have the lighter goofier popcorn superhero stuff like the MCU movies but there's nothing wrong with taking the stuff more seriously. There's room for both.
