They're an American-style private school, of course they do. The public-school carrier is the USS Wasp and has all the hand-me-down stuff, plus some amtanks.
@@jacobridgeway2849 - Actually, the ships are too big. Trust me, I've gone aboard a few Museum Ships and I have a pretty good grasp on how to plant things down. There is no way the School Ships repurposed Warships. The USS Wasp, whether it is the CV-7, CV-18, or the LHD-1, they are just under 700 to just under 850 feet long or around 200 to 240 meters in length. A Nimitz-class, the USS George Washington CVN-73 specifically, is just over 250 meters in length. While much wide at the beam, she's still too small to be able to host a full size school on her decks. You'll be talking about a lot of deck saving space techniques and those are clearly not seen in GuP. The School Ships have to be as large, but more likely larger than even the TT Seawise Giant at over 458 meters or 1,500 feet in length with a displacement just short of 565,000 tons. They're modeled on warships, this is notable as HMS Hermes (95) was both older and smaller than the Shokaku-class which Oorai's School Ship is based on. Even the later Centuar-class HMS Hermes (R12) was smaller than the Shokaku-class as they were originally built as Light Carriers to complement the Malta-class (never built) Fleet Carriers.
You are not alone. I gutted that after everything, they still lost the Ooari Carrier to some sniveling bureaucrat. And then, our lady Kay comes in to save their tanks!
