    Hello
    I also have Qor watercolors and I really like them, but compared to other professional watercolors such as W&N, Sennilier and Schminche Horadam, it is even more important with Qor to use cotton paper. The colors become more intense and the paint is much easier to use and control.

      They're more muted and subtle definitely, but what I'm not sure came across in the video very well was how muddy they were. I love the natural olives and dusky purples you get with warm primaries usually, but these were not lovely ones!

    It was helpful to see the additional/different colours from the 12-tube set that I have! I have my 12 x QoR paints in a palette with my only 5 x M Graham paints, so I typically use them together and that has worked well. I find that neutral tint is hit or miss for me (with any brand), I don’t have the QoR version as my set included Payne’s Grey. Hmmmm, I actually have QoR’s travel half-pan set, but I haven’t used it yet and can’t remember what colours it included 😮.

    • @helencryer
      @helencryer  Год назад +1

      That's so funny you've not even used the half pan set!! I did consider the 12 set, but I don't think it had all the high chroma set colours, which were what I was after.

    I just compared my mijello colors for a week to QOR. I painted 5 artworks and then I really tried to find a difference. I couldn't. Then I showed it to people. They could not see any difference. So I think they are great colors but I see no reason to pay 4x here where i live. I did the same for daniel smith which would be about 3x here. I'll just leave that here. Oh and thanks for the video :)

      I have the 24 set of Mission Gold Pure Pigments, and really do like them a lot. I wouldn't say they feel exactly the same to paint with - the QoR flow faster, but the quality is there. If I had to pick one set, I'd probably choose the Mission Golds.

    I like the vibrancy of these color, the problem is that qor is somewhat too aggressive and hard to control: it is highly staining and spreads too quickly, therefore possibly not a very friendly brand for beginners.

    • @helencryer
      @helencryer  10 месяцев назад +1

    • @helencryer
      @helencryer  Год назад +1

      Sorry for delay in replying (been on a boat for a week!) I'm very impressed with most the colours, but there were four that I think I mentioned which didn't seem to flow or mix as nicely. Overall I like them! I think some individual colours I'll turn out to like more than Daniel Smiths, but others less so. My ultimate favourite watercolours are a mixture of brands. I've not played the QoR enough yet to compare properly though.

      Talking about WILD claims and unnecessary expectations,what you’re thoughts about DS Primatex? What a marketing scam to sell mixes mostly of cheapest pigments,position them as rare minerals and price them like for best cobalts 🤦🏼‍♀️ After that type of WILD claims,marketing scam I only get single pigment tubes at best price no matter brand and DS has went to last brand in my list to even look at,Ill take cheapest ,,White nights,,or Senelier (when it comes to same pigments)over DS any given day,cos atleast they are not scamming me,treating like imbecile who has way too much money and way too small brain to know what to do with my money 🤦🏼‍♀️ what a disrespect towards costumer,like spit in eyes, that is
