@@monomamori yeah I guess it's really just a flattened fifth. But since it can be part of a minor7flat five, or diminished chord I always call it diminished or like to think of it as that even though they both serve as the seventh scale degree
Borland is playing this on a 4 sting guitar with a bass A string on the top and 3 guitar strings below , which is why the start and other bits sound like it's bass but it's not. It's incredible really.
nailed it! just simply nailed it! and, dude, these ghost-notes in the chorus - this is something amazing, they propell the groove so much! amazing cover!
A moment of silence for those who made the seven dislikes in this video, may they fall in love with NU Metal bass covers . Well done bro , loved it ! 🔥👍🏼
Very well done Monomamori.... I love that you do not hide your face, and you know how we can hear you play the bass line, even, so those that want to learn can hear and see. Applause! Turn it up!
This is one of the most interesting songs I have ever heard in terms of instrumentation. I mean, even the easy verse drum groove can throw people off because it’s just weird. you have a guitar player who is tuned lower than the bass player. The chorus groove is simple but perfect but that verse with the flat 5 is so perfect. I know a lot of people refer to that as a diminished chord but I disagree. Yes it’s the first step to build a diminished chord but there’s no min 3 and no double flat 7. By having a root and a flat 5 it could just as easily be half diminished. So nobody is incorrect for calling this a diminished chord, but we don’t have enough harmonic context to go that far.
Yes you can! It is standard tuning EADG. I have a 5 strigs bass, that means one more string above the lowest, just remove the 5th line on the tab from the bottom, and you're ready to go!

Those diminished arppegios always get me. It's like constant tension throughout the entire verse, I think that's what I love about this song
That bV, right? It stings right at the spot...

Limp bizkit sure has many fun chords to mess around, especially Borland's work. Just mesmerizing
Yes, you can surely recognize Wes's signature playing style. I think he's a very underrated guitarist...

Limp Bizkit is four guys who listen to too much Tool and Primus and then Fred Durst. It shouldn't work, but it does and I absolutely love it.
LOL
