What is wabi-sabi(侘寂)?
How is wabi-sabi related to avant-garde fashion? Is it just an aesthetic, or could it be more?

I like the Wabi Sabi concept. Teaches us that not everything
has to be new and perfect. Find
it very natural. This was interesting. Thanks.
it just another bullshit... I deal with all kind of concept in life... best is to choose what you can do to your life not forcing someone else into yours... when come to beauty... it is very subjective and depend on person.. some people just prefer to share some interest with their friend. Gain new business relationship and so in....
I love this concept. It reflects the heart of acceptance and the nature of the universe. Nothing is truly perfect and nothing lasts forever. There is great peace to be gained from such understanding.
Informative yet pleasing. One of the best so far on your channel.
Thanks for the support Mikael, I will be coming out with more!
I didn't know I've been practicing wabi-sabi in my room all my life.
Am glad for your enlightment man, hahaha
I feel a certain connexion between earth, natural colours and a cosy feeling through wabi-sabi
Yeah bro they are so comfortable to look at👍🏼
My style as well. Natural earth
colours.
Man this is just perfection. Beautifully put together
My dark washed distresses levi's jacket is wabi sabi and I love the imperfect distresses look and feel of it.
Beautiful and simple video - loved it!
Perfectly executed. Informative, relaxing, and you approach to videos is truly one of a kind.
Thanks bane. glad that you feel this way. Will continue to make more!
This was beautiful, thank you so much for doing the research and sharing.
thank you so much for creating this video. i only recently found out about wabi-sabi and i learned so much from you. i'm so happy to have discovered your channel and i subscribed after just this one video. looking forward to learning even more now. sending lots of love from new york!
I found out about Wabi-Sabi today from Jamie Windisor's video about photography and imperfection. I'm completely blown away from the concept. I don't understand it fully just yet, but I'm really intrigued and your video has helped me with having things clear up a bit. I'm going to keep thinking of how to incorporate this philosophy in my life and work.
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad that this video reached you. Hope that this will be helpful!
Thank you for this brilliant video and explanation. Clear, short, inspiring :)
Back again with another CKSPACE video hell yeah
hahah thanks for the support bro!
Wabi Sabi is VERY INTERESTING!! Thank you for doing this video. You did a great job!
It's crazy, I just watched the Kanye West Netflix interview earlier today, and he talked about this.
Fantasy Self you can hear minimalism and this concept on ye
@@Frezzzz But it's the first time he directly mentioned it.
I learnt about the word from the interview, but I knew about the meaning way earlier
I feel sorry for Kanye West. He seems like he truly loves wabi-sabi, but he is so traped in his maximalist/hollywood cage. I think that deep down in him there is a minimalist that wants to breath fresh air and have space and to be free to create without the need to buy all that materialistic junk
Thats fool hasnt no idea what this really mean...lol..
You cant buy wabisabi...lol
Like you cant buy acceptanced and humbleiness
Clear and more concise than the other videos on this so
I like rugged, almost indestructible things that can last a lifetime. Then I keep it forever. It naturally acquires a history and soul as it ages.
Thanks for this Informative video 🔥🙏🏾

- i Am Wabi Sabi too 🥰🙏🥰
This is the first time I hear about WaBi Sabi and it resonates with me, I thought I was weird for enjoying the aesthetic of aged and imperfect items all while also enjoying new and well designed items
Love this
Thanks man!
Very interesting, I'm a musician and audio engineer and I think I have wabi Sabi when it comes to a lot of music which I couldn't explain the feeling but I think this clears it up

Thanks for the nice comment mate! Will keep making more
Such a good video
🙏Appreciate bro!
💛 love thank you 🙏🏼
I’ve always find it odd how I liked the look of rust in industrial isolated buildings or corrugated rusted things in the middle of nature, and I thought to myself “Why do I like the look of something that’s imperfect and...well ugly?”. But now watching this video helped me understand more about why I like the look of rust.
❤ this!
Appreciate it!
I doubt ill watch a better video thanks for this really like where your heading
That's really kind of you, thanks Oscar!
凄くいいビデオ!
日本人でもあまり理解してない概念
日本語字幕も欲しいな
very interesting video
Reminds me of memento mori a bit. The beauty of imperfection and the realization of the fact that you can't take it with you so enjoy while you can, seem like a good pairing.
very interesting, thanks
good luck !
man, this is so interesting.
Thanks man! 🙏🏼
I love my wabi sabi jeans

You might have regrets and not live up to your impossible, ideal self but that doesn't mean you don't have an interesting life story. The flaws might even make you more interesting
I like the wabi-sabi excuse 😂
Me, japanese learning wabi sabi from foreigners😂nice video anyway! 🙏
I didnt know why I liked my ugly ass rooms door so much
Imperfect but should be clean
Any recommended reads?
In my second video, I've mentioned 2 books in the video which will be a good start.
ruclips.net/video/GEENibEDcus/видео.html
1) Wabi-sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers by Leonard Koren
2) Wabi Sabi by Beth Kempton.
Leonard published another book
“Wabi sabi: further thoughts” in 2015, haven’t got to read it but love to read that next.
UnPretentious - I like that
This is not for OCD people 😅
A lot of punk rock and some other genres are recorded using very primitive techniques and that gives it a character all its own. You'll also hear this in very old recordings like from the 1930's. Some of the blues artists from that era sound kind of ghostly and eery, foreshadowing the darker music it would eventually inspire. I'd like to hear more music made with wabi sabi in mind.
One might also point to the harsh wavering vocals of some older vocalists or the less expensive instruments used by some instrumentalists. Leonard Cohen's later stuff comes to mind. Jack White for sure. What I cal traditional American music or mountain music. If you're digging what I'm laying down, check this out. You'll like this. ruclips.net/video/AkEhtfPN084/видео.html
yes,but your video is not wabi-sabi,because its perfect.

Please, can someone help me. I'm a Japanese language learner, and I'm searching for a correct way to write sabi (in kanji), but I can't find it on google. I found how to write wabi (侘), but I can't find how sabi (寂) is written. What strokes am I supposed to do first? I can assume the order of strokes, but I really, really want it to be correctly written. Please, if someone knows, help!
Hey, just in case you missed it, he writes the Sabi character at 4:31 so that might be the correct stroke order. I know it's a bit difficult to see due to the overlaying video, though.
@@zf3579 Thank you for answering, however I already have found the correct stroke order. Nonetheless, thank you very much!
@@nvm_everland2908 You're welcome, glad to hear you've found your answer :D
self-imposed isolation aesthetic
However you look perfect. Your cap matches your t-shirt and watch, and you have two symmetrical earrings.

Interesting that you mentioned that Murata chose to use rustic teaware. (was this based on Japanese philosophy?) During that time, the artisans and skills were in China and we know they have the history to prove it. This interpretation you've chosen is from the view of a Japanese where they did not have the wealth to possess lavish things. Zen Buddhism originated from China too. The literature that you are reading are most likely written by white folks and they always choose the easiest way to paint the Chinese accomplishments under Japan since Japan always succumb to their terms and conditions when it comes to economics. A small country has no bargaining power.
This is a great video but would be better if you referenced your sources. I do take interest in religion and design too, but what you are sharing factually is an ice breaker but not historically grounded.
nice video, please work on your accent you will go far!
Thanks Ronney, appreciate the feedback!🙏
Ronney Aragundi ouch!
that is not in the concept of wabisabi :) his accent is his uniqueness :D
