When lockdown first started, I chose to go for my daily walk at night. It was absolutely amazing!! There was quite literally no sound. All the traffic, people, barking dogs and screaming children were gone!!! I could hear my own breathing as I walked, it was so quiet. I’ve never been able to experience such a thing and I was truly grateful for it :)
There's a saying that " it's not what happens to us, but how we react to it that matters" . Let's be positive in every aspect of our lives. Loved your videos so much. It's so calming.
You are such a special speaker, and you come from Singapore too. I lived there as a child from 70-73 and it was the most magical time of my life. When i expressed that many years later to my father before he died, he said that they felt the same, a magical magical place and time. :)
Hey Man, your channel has really helped me with my minimalist journey. Minimalism really got me into Japanese design and I study the language - my youtube channel is based on my language journey. Now I will discuss this topic with my language tutors this week! Your Channel is FIRE. Keep it up!
@@CKSPACE Just to follow up, I did actually discuss it with my tutor and made a small little video based on minimalism in Japanese. If you ever get a change, do check it out. ruclips.net/video/1BZilkr5Rjg/видео.html

Your videos are fantastic! Keep it up and you'll shoot to the top. Just stay different and cut above the rest of the crowd with your independent thinking and calm nature.
Strongly agree with this train of thought. I also felt like there was a common thread between wabi-sabi and minimalism, but was surprised to hear you talk about it in your other videos. Would love some book recommendations on the topic!
Cheng, I've really come to appreciate how much you are in your element in your videos. Your message and production portray this so well. Thank you!! And congrats on the sponsorship!
I was thinking a while ago about buying kintsugi pottery as a reminder of the beauty in imperfection. I may do it now. Such a great video with such a deep meaning!
Your videos are great my friend. The principles and philosophies you practice have really opened my eyes to a more meaningful and less anxious life. I appreciate you making your videos and sharing your insights. Wish you well

Dear CKSPACE, getting more and more disappointed about more and more videos with minimalism content which actually try to sell me something but kind of "hidden selling" if you guys know what I mean, I found you. I was like: He's cool, funny, intelligent, he makes content of great value and aesthetics, BUT SOON he will try to sell me something, sure he will do, and, man, I was really anxious about it... Almost waited for the disappointment. But no!! You did not!! Thank you so much for being as you are and sharing your time with us! You have a sponsor now which is important as a RUclipsr I guess and I think you have a good one with educational content.... Please handle the pressure that comes with it - if it's a longer sponsorship - with care and look after yourself! Big digital hugs to you and your girlfriend and your country Singapur! Greets from Vienna, Austria! Caroline PS: If YOU would like to think about selling a (wabi sabi) T-shirt which you yourself created and designed, I would definitely buy it :-D (not only me I can promise) !!
Hi Caroline, Thanks for the kind comment and being so supportive about the sponsorship. I'm glad that you feel this way and it means a lot to me. Truly appreciate your love and support! Please stay safe and happy! 🙏😀

may be, PERFECT~as we perceived it~ is within the individual sense of contentment validated by others alike~ rather than what is set as a standard. As stated in one of his videos " seeking perfection is a never ending chase. Perhaps, the modern world has derailed us in to seeking PERFECT life, we seem to forget that the importance of BALANCE. When you look around you, perfection exist as the congregation of a sprout from something rotted. a ray of light slipping the dark clouds, a desire for silence after a day of personally irrelevant chaotic noise etc. inner peace comes from understanding and acceptance of what is around us before we existed~ living a life in this sense of manner may lead us to seeking no perfect life but a harmonious one.
Here in thailand, minimalist is not even poppular for people as we are develeping country so mostly people are hungers to better quality of life or social status. But what I find is that some buddhism teachings are really similar to or even the same if we really look into it. Anyway Im happy to find your channel. One of amazing minimalist channels on youtube.
This is really soothing. Especially with CB going on. It’s really good to see and appreciate life for what it is and also to improve upon these “cracks”.
I think the concept of wabi sabi could be extremely helpful to me. I struggle with being a chronic, obsessive-compulsive perfectionist. I have INSANELY, unreasonably high standards for EVERYTHING. And more than everything, for myself.
My car got busted out in the back and the body shop repainted it but I can notice it’s not perfect like it was. The color is off. Should I embrace this? It bothers me…

BIGGEST TAKE AWAY: "the grass cannot always be green" - there would be no summer if there were no winter... Makes sense.
もののあわれ/物-の-哀れ ~(1) mono(things.matter)(2) aware(compassion, pathos, grief, pity). mononoaware^ sense of compassion towards things ; appreciation of~ the fleeting nature of beauty~, pathos of things; also used in describing "strong aesthetic sense" in some particular subject matter. I love the representation of the Sakura Flower. The Japanese has even come-up creating a dedicated festival to CELEBRATE the PASSING BEAUTY of the phenomena~ Rooted from their sense of GRATITUDE and APPRECIATION under complete consciousness that its aggregated qualities exalting pleasure to their mind and spirit is TRANSITORY~ therefore evoking a compassionate or sympathetic sense of pity as an element of the Experience. Another good example may be is their FIREWORK FESTIVAL. i love the honest post gesture ` i really have no idea by just reading them" 笑う

I can assume the order of strokes, but I really, really want it to be correctly written. Please, if someone knows, help!
