Once upon a time this would have made a great little tarmac rally car, possibly in the 1400 or 1600 class, but the MSA/MSUK stuck their oar in and banned space frame cars or cars where the original architecture had been changed, i.e. converting a car from FWD to RWD.
Rs diff from standard running gear from front legs to trampbar axle multi leaf springs more rally spec 1.1 to 1600 sports and standard MK1 1.1 to Mexico lotus rs1600 rs2000 diff set up lots HOTROD starlets and 323 got escort running gear too
Worked at place called EAGLE RALLY and a client had fully space frame chassis fully roll caged it had fibreglass Mini Clubman square flat front it had race tuned and bored out rover V8 twin turbos and 5 speed zf dogleg box owner took me to place we call the straight mile to test as road legal car I was 16 usual smartass liked speed he terrified life out me wheels spinning smoking then 2nd 3rd then caught grip and I was stuck too seats with G forces I seen Speedo at 100 in seconds 140 in glorified V8 turbo go kart ass was inches from road with 13 inch minilite magnesium wheels was registered as Austin mini clubman 3900gt lol looked like one lol wasn't one it was like full throttle on superbike but faster lower and 4 wheels I'd never been in turbo car or twin WOW I saw future and life fly by lol love know what happened to car I've tried to find it 30yrs as never sold I think it's garaged or company buildings but owners in Spain can keep trying as I'd buy in sec work of art of car Renault has lots potential turbo2 widearch bodykit get mk2 rs diff 3.54 LSD engine choice is limitless inline4 to V8 crate V8 Chevy with ECU wiring etc plug n play get gearbox from jaguar xjs 5spd manual as zf dogleg box fits to Chevy block can buy kit or do self make Renault 5 rocket lol good luck to you in project looking forward to see evolve
