I had a Black F plater… I had it repainted and added clear indicator lenses and fogs. Lovely looking little car but very much a fast metal shed on wheels. The head gasket went twice on me and in the end I just had enough of it. I sold it for just £2,200.00 even though it was a minter. This was all the way back in 1999.
I love Renault 5 turbo, but the mid-engined and RWD version. She's my fave among (2 seats) hatchback sport cars. I love her even more than clio 3.0 V6 sport.
i owned and drove one of these R5GT Turbo as a 19 year old "kid", fresh owner of a drivers licence , it was insane. only god knows, how i survived this 🙂
@@ThaDutchDK1989 owner didnt have a clue what he was driving...At a time i was 15 and i said to my dad to buy it for me he said to are you crazy renault 5 is a shity old car lol
there was a recall on phase 2 for the cooling fan were they added a fuse inline, mine was had the fuse fitted, E reg 5 like that is a phase 1 just with phase 2 bits on it
Amazing pocket rockets! I owned one for 14 years, a phase 2, black late G plate, 1990 car, pushing 204 BHP at the wheels. Mainly GT Tuning modifications to the car, quite a number of them, at quite a cost! I dearly miss my GT Turbo & am currently looking for another one. If anybody out there knows of the where-abouts of my previous R5 Turbo, reg G182 VBU, please get in touch as I would make u an offer that would be hard to refuse. Thanks Jon
I loved wheeler dealers I loved my r5. When I saw the title I got expectations which aren't met in any way try to find an r5 turbo which only needs a carburetor tuneup and very minor cosmetic work. Is such a disappointment.
i had 1 for 3 years in the 90s put a bigger turbo on it was great then someone wanted it badly and paid £2000 more than i paid for it then on his way home he crashed it going round a roundabout 10 min later. then i bought a brand new Citroen saxo vts and i have had it 22 years less than 50.000 miles
Head gaskets and turbos gone at around 40k miles is what I remember.. I had 2 uno turbos, bulletproof motors and so much fun to drive, sadly, like chickens teeth to find now
Wish they had shown full episodes, like it used to be...
This is taken from a full one hour episode
Discovery Chanel.
That was my passed best friend's car.
He loved that car, he had a white one before the blue E reg car.
That's an F1 mechanic for you... thinking outside the box and getting the manifold ceramic coated. Genius!
Far better again that its back home, mike done well getting elvis on board, its a great show along with car sos
Wish they did more detailed episodes though. Take out the buying bit, and all the waffle at the end to show more mechanical work like the old days.
Elvis is the best!
Had one in black on an E reg back in 93. Pocket rocket.
Little monsters on fuel, they drink more than an afterburner.
Beautiful little car, takes me back
Mine were never that bad!
mine never did and it was phase one modded the clio 16v did though it hated being cold
Great car, would love to see what they used to shoehorn Mike into that seat though 😂😂

Sounds the same as mine but mine was a q plate 😳

My neighbour was selling gt turbo for 800 euros 15 years ago...And it was in good condition
800€ euro’s … sure.. riding driving 5 gt turbo where never less than 2500€ worth.

Doesn't look like someone deliberately poked a screwdriver through that diaphragm at all lol
I had a red 86 one . Loved it

0-60 in 7.5 secs in the 80's!!! Sunbeam lotus from the 70's ... Hold my beer!!!
90s Clio Williams. LOVE F7R 😀
Didn’t include the cost of the new tyres?
First time I’ve seen carb cleaner being used correctly lol
They should account for labor, not just parts, to have an estimation of the real cost of the vehicle after repairs.
The original rims were the turbo rims! The current ones are from the GTE.
One of my dreamed cars R5, i would like to see Mr. China repairs one of those but this one is ok
Friend of mine had a lovely early Phase 1 with a few engine mods. Quick as hell. Shame it boiled the fuel and caught fire one night
that's why they fit a cooling fan too the carb on phase 2
It’s strange that a tyre company uses the original tread pattern when modern tread patterns and compounds are superior

they were ALWAYS STALLING mate. I had one. It often got overheated. then the fan ran for ages. then the battery got flat and you stuffed.
where's the rest of the episode??!

Deffo not fully refurbed that carb
I like wheeler dealers watched it from the start but the lies of how much parts are is getting silly now
wonder how much they flogged it back to her for - £9K?
So, how much etc???
They say the only car for a hot hatch today is an abarth 595 nothing eles can compare
Cursor next to the email.....
Mikes writing himself emails.
Defo looked better when they got it
Elvis worked in F1? Really? He's never mentioned that before.
Can only think of Ali G when I see these.
Gee. I wonder why cars moved to fuel injection.
Legendas indisponíveis
Convert to fuel injection?
Classic car
Charlotte sold her Renault gt 5 turbo to Mike on wheeler dealers
Then She rebought it.
@@zoltansimorka91 you’re right
Elvis acting skills for camera, Are pretty damn terrible tho 🤣🤣
