I would not recommend using a twin or triple needle to do a zig-zag or decorative stitch on a vertical-axis-hook sewing machine (top-loading bobbin). On a vertical axis machine, when the needle is moved to the left or right, it is also brought forwards slightly in order to follow the circular path that the hook travels in. If you look closely at the needle plate, you'll see that the needle hole is curved slightly to accommodate this. If you insert a twin or triple needle, so long as it's designed for vertical-axis machines, it will align correctly with the hook and needle plate in the center position, but if the zig-zag mechanism swings the needles to the left or the right, the inherent forward motion will cause the needle closer to the center to be brought too far forwards, leading to it possibly striking the forward edge of the needle plate, or part of the bobbin case. This issue is not present with front-loading horizontal axis sewing machines, since the needle does not have to move forwards and backwards when the zig-zag mechanism moves it left and right, and your only concern there will be to ensure that the width of the zig zag doesn't cause the outermost needle to strike the side of the needle plate.
I’ve read that the needle manufacturer mentioned that both twin and triple needles are suitable for most domestic sewing machines with zigzag capability (with transversal hook) and a needle plate that has a hole wide enough for the needle. They do recommend switching to zigzag plate if the needle does not fit in the hole🤗
@@Julija_Gobere Yes, they won't work in a straight stitch machine and definitely not one with a side-load bobbin. I'd still stick with only running the needle in the center position though, and not using any zig zag or decorative stitches that would move the needle position away from center.
I have used one and for the right thing, it is wonderful. My machine does have some settings that will prevent using double/triple needles with stitches that will swing too wide. You can enter the width of the multiple needles. I was a top of the line machine many years ago. You may need to contact your machine dealer or manufacturer to find out how to compensate. That you actually did several stitches, makes me think that the needle may have become loose, though. Slow stitching is helpful.
I used a triple needle on dolls clothes to decorate them some years ago and it worked very well. It was a top loading machine. perhaps I was just lucky.
Prym has a double sided tape specific for sewing, it is called Wonder tape. It is not so sticky and does not gum up the needle. It washes off without residue andI love it for installing zippers or holding in place tricky seams. I think there is even stretchy washable wonder tape for knit fabrics - perfect for hemming I imagine - but I dont remember where I read about it or who makes it. I guess googling wonder tape for knit fabric should give good results 😊
@Julija_Gobere I prefer Schmetz needles, but have some Organ needles too in my collection. Both brand is excellent. Schmetz color coding the regular needles too. Look at the painted ring on each of them. Pull out some Google pictures to check it out.
I love notions! I do try to be judicious and give it some thought before buying, but…that being said, I’ve never seen the roses notion or the triple needle. Time to go shopping!
I love tools and one I love is the Clover Threaded Needle Case. I hated having to get a needle and thread it to do basting and with this I don't mind it at all, and IMO hand basting is the best 🤓
I love your channel. You have a appearance to capture audiences. Your explanatory. You talk so we can hear you whereas some opl to to fast. Your make up is so well done looks natural not over done. I love new notions. Clover company has a lot. I used water proof spray on home made shipping bags and over night duffle bags. I might try a spring jacket and use that. I do not think I'll try triple needle. I will try winged needle to make wedding gift pillow cases with decorative edging. I think that needle will be good to make linen napkins as a gift. Perhaps on a nice linen skirt on the hem. Not to mention white singer blouses. Thank You for your professional videos. I find it hard to use just the phone camera and don't have a program to spit the scene to see 2 different things going on. You are great.
Unfortunately, I don’t think that pattern is available - it was in their printed magazine and haven’t seen them digitalise patterns this old… Too bad, because those pants are extremely comfortable AND pattern came in 6 different variantions👍 Only way to get the pattern is to find the original magazine…
Thanks for the tips, however, when I go to the link for the rose template (Clover brand) that template doesn’t come up and I can’t buy anything from that website either! Is there any other way to get it? 😮❤
I have a few Brother machines that I use for different projects - machine behind me in the video is Stellaire 2, and a few samples shown in the video were made using CS10s🤗
In my experience triple needles work much better with vertical oscillating hook machines and rotary hook machines often miss the last thread loop. Also a wide bight is not very workable on either machine.

@@carolkinch It might be that your machine's normal needle plate hole is wide enough to compensate. That would be a sweet trim!

hi Julija, did you know the plastic part on the twin needle is color coded? Red is for regular fabric, blue is for stretch.
Oh great to know! I mostly use Organ Needles needles, but they are not color coded… This is very helpful🤗

The rose is lovely ❤

I’m with you! I do try but … the notions call to me lol.

The rose maker looks really interesting. I already knew about the other items.
I have the rose tool in 3 different sizes, it’s great and once you figure it out, it’s super easy to make roses.
Thank you .. some great ideas. I love your videos ❤
that was great! I'm going to check out those templates

Do you have a video of making the green Burda pants? Is the pattern still available?
Interesting tools.

What sewing machine are you using?

Is the double sided tape washable? Thanks! I really enjoy your videos 😊
I was thinking about that too 🤔
Nailpolish remover helps with the glue on the needle 😅
I think it’s not washable, though I haven’t tried it🤔
Who or what company sells the Triple Needles? Thank for the great tips
Schmetz

Can you tell us which issue these pants were in or show us the cover ?
