- French international midfielder and Champions League winner Franck Sauzee represented a massive coup for Hibernian when the First Division club snapped up the former Marseille, Monaco and Atalanta man in February 1999. Hibernian were subsequently promoted to the SPL and Sauzee took up a key role at the heart of their defence, scoring famous goals in victories over Hearts and Dundee. Sauzee scored nine SPL goals in total for Hibernian and captained the side before retiring from playing to become manager of the club in 2001.
I am proud to say I was at each and every one of these matches. My fav ever Hibs player. Wish he was at ER today.
It was a sheer joy to watch Franck playing for the hIbees.
What a player he was for us.
What a player, so happy he graced Easter Road
One of the greatest players ever to pull on a hibs jersey. Up there with the famous five, Joe Baker etc. How Alex McLeish was able to sign a player of this calibration is unbelievable. Wish he was at Easter Road today
Sauzée was a great player. It was nice to watch him playing for Hibernians.
