    While looking for something else (if there's such a thing as a 30" scale neck for a Fender Jazz Bass) I saw your video on re-necking an earlier bass build and found this series. I watched it all. Really enjoyed it. Using the ferrules to keep the wood block in place was ingenious. If you want more relic, add bare steel "binding" to the top.
    I'd be happy with a polished aluminum or copper skin on the top of my MIM Standard Tele.
    There have been some wacky things I have dreamed up but will never build.
    1. Plane 1/8" off a Tele, rout out the body and add a spruce top. No guard or control plate, wired up like a hollow body (the switch might be a challenge.) Otherwise, all the normal Tele bits.
    2. Using two routed Tele bodies, plane 1/2" off the top of one (no neck pocket) for the bottom, and 1/2" off the bottom of the second to make the top part. Glue them up to make a 3" hollow body. There's probably a less wasteful way to make a 3" deep body LOL.

    Amazing built sir! I watched all the episodes until the finish. Really amazed with the precise work on the copper body. The whole aesthetics of the guitar with the metal inlays is beautiful. Sounds pretty awesome as well!!! Congratulations!

    Always the attention to detail - the way you scuffed all round the edges of the blacked aluminium pickguard made all the difference. Also, don't put a cover on the P90 - the naked pickup really fits the overall look of the guitar.
    The way this copper is going to keep aging and changing s way cool.

    iv molded a uk made strat dressed the heel and recessed the neck plate! painted and polished bit of touch up work to do! it's a Gordon Smith, hss and had 2 push pull pots the vol splits the humbucker, the 1st tone has a passive boost, the 2nd tone added another push pull to add the Gilmour mod to add the neck and bridge pickup!

    What’s up! Great build…good to see you’re still at it! And mixing it up a bit too! I’ve been away for a bit but back in here watching your builds and will be posting some new music soon as well. I’ve been playing my old bobcat electric a little more now so I was drawn to your tele build. BTW the brass cut away reso you built looks awesome…wish I lived closer! Would love to see/hear that one in person…

      Welcome back! The brass tele is crazy good but on the heavy side. If you guys roll through this area hit me up and you can take something back with you. The brass reso is pretty amazing but I suspect this 14 fret bronze version is going to top them all. Can't wait to hear more music from you. Thanks!

    Wow! When I saw this build a few videos ago, I was so sure that the copper was going to cause some serious tone issues due to eddy currents, but it sounds dope! Absolutely gorgeous as well.
    Your style of playing doesn't seem to need a lot of sustain, but just out of curiousity, how is the sustain on this guitar?

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  9 месяцев назад +2

      I suspected eddy currents aren't what they are cracked up to be based on how well the resonator pickups work. Sustain is bonkers, it's probably still ringing and I haven't played it for two days. Now that the comments are coming in I'm realizing I forgot to talk about so many things.

      @@Ninety2guits Never so happy to be proved wrong! This is making me reconsider some of my own choices; I have a kit guitar I'm slowly building (my first), and for a while I wanted to make my own brass pickguard, but then I learned about eddy currents and decided against it. Might put that back up on the idea board!

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks. There is sooo much guitar making content out there it's unbelievable. Guitars must outnumber people on the earth by 15:1 given all these builders I've never heard of. It's easy to get burned out.

  • @1man1guitarletsgo
    @1man1guitarletsgo 9 месяцев назад

    That's a fantastic looking and sounding guitar! I prefer the relic nickel (?) neck pickup, and the scuffed black pickguard is right too. Also, people may not realise just how difficult it is to use a router freehand. One slip and you ruin the work. Assuming this guitar's up for sale, what will its price be?

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  9 месяцев назад

      $1400. Thanks for the kind words.

      I don't build guitars, I see no reason to (clean +clear) = cleraning my garage. good things come from Choas , I mean... so do bad things, but mostly good, and I have tools to deal with the bodies . and a month would be optimistic.. thanks anyways@@Ninety2guits
