    This came out amazing. I don’t know what you want to do in terms of videos but I really like hearing you walk through your process. I could watch you build 100 more. I think that’s what everyone wants. They may be the same kind of guitar but each one is unique.

    James, WOW, this latest version is a grand slam. You turned the brass sheet into a work of art, and the sound , to my untrained ear was classic. I know that you don’t appreciate the complements but you have to be proud of this guitar. You have a genuine passion for this craft.
    I would love to see more detail about the neck and all the detail that goes along with it. Seeing you work on the neck shows the level of refinement that is very intimidating. Even if I were to complete the body, I would have zero confidence in producing a functioning guitar that would have a decent sound. You may not wish to travel down this road but I would trust you to be honest about teaching people like me how to complete this project to the very end. Thanks again
    Bruce

    Wow, Wow, Wow! Love the bronze guitar, soundss great too. I wish we lived closer, I'm based in Thailand. I build amps and cabs to vintage specs, I think we could do a great colaboration together if we did.

    Ideas for what's up next on the channel:
    1) CNC conversion of the headstock logo (and any other CNC conversion)
    2) The Mathematics/Philosophy of the guitar designs and setup. Susan Gardener used to have a RUclips channel (she's gone silent) where she went into the engineering/science of the instruments and you appear to think that way and I learn a lot from the ,"why I'm doing X' videos," instead of the mere, "watch me do x," videos.
    3) A video actually describing what you're looking for when setting up the resonator guitars compared to setting up a standard accounstic
    4) A lap resonator? Those necks (I have one) require a different design thought (at least to me)
    If I think of anything else, I'll plink them in here.

      I do need to make some CNC content for the Looth Group Patreon so maybe I'll share some of that here. I feel like my beginner status on the CNC is a good place to make videos (kinda like my first Reso) should be educational for people getting started like me. Setup videos would be interesting content. I'll look up Susan. that name is new to me. Thanks.

    Absolutely beautiful guitar sounds great and I think your playing is great too! I've learned a lot from your videos trying to develop my skills on my own build, so thank you so much James, thanks to you I've been abel to start on this project. Would be awesome to see a tri one build. I know you could do it.

      @@jonahguitarguy No I have a Probotix machine and I bought a 220V Vevor spindle. Don't let the video fool you, it's sped up... way up. I'm really liking the Vevor spindle so far, especially at the price. Since I'm doing metal I needed a speed control spindle rather than a router. Turns out I like being able to control the spindle speed for wood, I can adjust speeds and feeds on the fly as it cuts. I tend to make it goes as fast as possible til it makes sounds I don't like than back it off a bit.

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  5 месяцев назад +1

      I don't think envy is in order :). It's an older style machine, I feel like the software you run the machine with is where all the cool features come into play, the machine just does whatever the software tells it to. I do have the option to run a 4th axis on my machine which could open up some cool possibilities down the road. I'm using the LinuxCNC software to run the machine which is working well so far. There are probably better options out there but I'm happy with it to this point. Can't wait to see yours in action.

    Ideas for the channel. I think there, possibly, is more to learn. How about doing a patina build? Learn how to make the brass version look old, like it’s been around for 50-100 years. That would be very cool. Mule does some very interesting looking resonators. Just a thought. Or try a different stringed instrument. I’m learning, or at least trying, to play mandolin. Not blues or rock but would be cool to see your take on an acoustic instrument.

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I like all those ideas, I'm staying focused on the resonators for the time being. Need to do a Tri-cone and a Baritone and a couple more material experiments to do yet. The videos on those might just be a summary of how it went and what I learned or whatever jumps out to me as interesting.

    Fantastic instrument.
    I personally wouldn't have the cutaway (just don't like them on resos) but otherwise the design is brilliant, and it sounds great.
    I know how you feel about fingerpicks - I struggle with them too - but don't run your playing down, you're pretty good. Having said that I would really like a video of Paul's reaction, with him playing it.
    I think you can be fully confident as a reso builder, and be happy to accept commissions for future builds.

    As you say cool guitar, but that’s some understatement. It is a fantastic build and you should be immensely proud of what you have put together. Not just the guitar but the videos also. For the next build it has to be a tricone surely.

    • @Ninety2guits
      @Ninety2guits  5 месяцев назад

      Wow thank you! I appreciate that. Tricone or Baritone are next, not sure which one first. I could probably get through a Baritone pretty quickly then move on to the Tricone. Those videos might just be more of a summary of the builds where we just cover what I've learned or whatever seems interesting. Thanks again.

      @@Ninety2guits As another thought you could try a build in what is called German silver (AKA nickel silver, or nickel brass). I think they used to build high-end resonators out of it in the past but I don't believe you see them now. It doesn't have any silver in it it's a copper nickel zinc alloy and I'm not sure how easy it is to solver. That might be a new challenge.

    Great series! I’ve only recently come across your channel so hopefully it’s not the end!
    This may be a daft question but do you think using two cones in the same guitar could create a kind of ‘over driven’ sound? Perhaps throw some rivets in there?
