You said you couldn't live doing this kind of thing ....
That is because you are a good person that was raised properly......
You are a fine young man .....

One very important detail left out of this story, these are not victimless crimes. Real people, innocent people, people who have sacrificed and struggled to obtain a better life and financial security are devastated by these criminals. Don't admire their skills without acknowledging the victims who have sometimes had their lives irreparably destroyed.

They didn't leave that detail out. They said right off the bat that he killed an FBI agent. That told us his crimes weren't victimless.

This has actually happened before. There is a movie out staring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, called "Catch Me if You Can"; it's about how the FBI caught a counterfeiter of checks and they used him until he finished his prison term. It is based on a true story.

There's an older Tony Curtis movie that is similar and also based on a true story called "The Great Imposter".

Actually, Frank Abagnale, who the story is based on was a good con artist. The story he told, that was made into a movie, was a con itself. He was actually locked up while all of his escapades supposedly happened. I just found this out myself.

My local hospital network was basically held hostage to hackers in July/August last year. Over 200,000 patients information was potentially stolen. My son and I both received letter regarding our information being potentially stolen. 😳

The holding companies "hostage" is still happening. The company I retired from was held hostage maybe a year after I left.

So, Russia is unique in it’s criminal underworld because it was thriving towards the end of the Soviet era, people all relied on organized crime for everyday goods. Kind of ironic, but a very laissez-faire capitalist under-world literally kept people alive as communism crumbled. There were people with PhDs who had been hardened as political prisoners and others who managed to leave who were willing to support the underworld to help weaken the regime back home. It was all very normal, then as the Russian Federation westernized, those criminals became oligarchs. Anyway, financial crimes are a huge part of their game now. I was reading a book about the Russian mob in a waiting area about ten yrs ago when a guy who worked for the treasury dept was like “are you reading about the Russian mob? They’re literally our biggest fear bc they wipe out entire banks in Europe and people in the US who are all completely comfortable with online banking now.”
Anyhow, the collapse of the Soviet Union led to a group of people who had the skills to commit large-scale crimes, but really couldn’t capitalize off of it in a legal way. Basically, in former Eastern Bloc countries, crime was normalized and remains so. The political and economic instability in those countries is still a huge factor in people’s everyday lives. So….

I think you should react to the channel "The Front". They have video all about history that never get talked about such as
    - The most diverse melting pot Resistance movement( The Lithuanian resistance )
    - The longest march in history ( how a czech legion took over the Trans-Siberian railway
-How a platoon of Polish Postmen embarrased the SS
