Thanks Dave ! The way you work strongly influences how I use my Digitakt. Also nice what you did in this vid with the Control All function. In my opnion you are the Digitakt goeroe. Greetz K@Z
Good question. I’m not entirely sure yet. I have been using OTO boum only lately on the master for my productions and I’m really loving it to bits. I think I will keep using heat to do more sound design related duties.
You always amaze me...well done and thanks for sharing !!! I've one question. You seem to process your samples more with the digitakt than the octatrack. Why that, what did the digitakt gives you that you don't find with the octa ?
Thanks! It’s just that the Digitakt workflow is so incredibly fast for this kind of thing. Octatrack I use for everything the DT cannot do like looping , fx box , superior midi sequencing etc :). Not to say I won’t use octa ever for this kind of thing though
@@Davemech Perfect ! I understand...I'm tempted to get a Digitakt since i got the syntakt. I'm looking forward something easy & simple to use instead my octa. Thank you for enlightments Dave
Nice, probably one of my fav of these series. Btw, how are you feeling about the OTO Boum? Do you like it more than the Heat as a master compression/distortion unit? EDIT: nevermind, I see you've been asked that already below haha
hm. That's funny. I guess I spend way too much in the house. maybe I have to get such a small recorder, too 😀 but, how to choose the right one (zoom, tascam,...)? which is the difference that makes the difference for you?
:). Currently researching the latest offerings of field recorders. Not a whole let has changed except that we now have multiple 32 but floating point recorders. which is awesome because it basically means you never have to worry about setting the levels correctly. It really depends on your budget and the type of sources you are most likely to record. If you want to record in nature a lot you have to spend a bit more to get the lowest possible self noise on the internal microphones. If you’re going to be recording in cities or louder sounds in general, something like the tascam dr-05 is a very good bang for buck recorder. Long battery life, very quick to start recording. And quality is nice (in nature too much self noise though). I used that for years. Currently use zoom h5 but I’m not super happy with it. It’s pretty slow to boot up and start recording. Which is annoying. I’m currently eying the tascam x6. Seems a bit bulky but I’d have to check it out in real life to be sure. Cheers and happy sampling :)
@@Davemech Thanks for your opinion, Dave. I guess, after I just bought a DT and a DN this week, the dr-05 will be the best choice for my budget. I will start experimenting in the city 🙂 Good to know that the Zoom is less spontaneous. Initially I considered such a device with 2 inputs such as the h5 or h4n, could be useful for recording a hardware jam from time to time. But actually I do not really need that, because I could also record the Elektron hardware through overbridge, my audio interface or the Zoom R16, that I already have for a while. Best regards. 👍

Wow, look at this church Notre Dame! Build when people had only hammer and chisel 🤨 Great sound design and jams!
Thanks! Yeah beautiful church. So much detail. Quite bizarre.
I think this jam might be my favorite so far! Good job!🎉
That was absolutely badass. Worthy of Ilian Tape. Well done!

Oh shit, I made this comment before the melody kicked in. Really mindblowing.

Did you ditch analog heat?
Nope still have it. But I must admit I’m really loving the oto. But the heat is not going anywhere. :)
@@Davemech if you had to keep only one?
@@tapsy Currently, i'd choose boum
@@Davemech have you compared with the comp/sim fx on the sp404mk2?
@@tapsy Nope. Don't have that unfortunately.
