I very clever song imo and the video does it so much justice. Of course they’re in a finishing school because girls have to behave in a certain way, they have the 2 white girls on the weighing scales with the two coloured ones on the floor showing you the true imbalance when it comes to colour and outside they’re walking along a ruler which indicates how they’re all measured. I’m sure there’s more little gems littered throughout the video that the fans will tell you about but it’s nice to delve beneath the surface and understand the clever hidden meaning of the video and lyrics.

BANGeh :)” Is also how my northern brain sounds when I listen to LM 🤣🤣 LM wanted to do more rnb/hiphop leaning stuff since the beginning of their career but got told to rewrite material by Simon Cowell’s label to fit into the bubblegum pop sound! So unfortunately, most of their singles are more like the other songs you’ve heard so far (still great, but not this same vibe). Album tracks are a different story, but if you’re still after something more mature like this “Wasabi” from the same album is another mature pop single with hip a hop inspired beat. “Confetti” ft. Saweetie is another hip hop inspired single, actually from after the band became a trio!
In this MV, the girls want denounce inequalities between men and women. The society expects a woman to be “perfect” (perfect posture: they must stand straight with the books on their heads (posture course for princesses), they must stay at home to clean, etc. They must behave well at the table (know how to use cutlery, posture). That's why they eat the burgers at the end to tell us it's not because they eat burgers that they are not “perfect” and that they are not women. They there is racism with the scale.
Absolutely nuts, I’m still so impressed with that performance (definitely didn’t cry watching it in the livestream lol). I can’t wait to see if Perrie is gonna include some of her rock roots in her solo stuff!!
Love this song! I am probably in the minority though when it comes to my opinion on Nicki Minaj's performance here, because, yes, I love the song, and Little Mix killed it, but Nicki's verse seemed a bit lazy... kind of phoned in. I just wish it had displayed a bit more spark and fire and maybe went a bit harder. I know she is capable; she's amazing! (Seriously, even Nicki's worst is better than a lot of peoples' best in the music industry, and this wasn't even her worst; it was just a bit mid for her.) But other than that, I have no other complaints. In the end, Nicki was fine (and probably brought way more attention to the song because of her presence), Little Mix was on fire, and the song is still great today. A+ Pop!
