hello there, at 14:03 When i move the faders and buttons on my ipad which is wired connected to my macbook the script info is not showing up in my in my macbook screen. But when I am in PLAY MODE on my macbook and i move the knobs it shows the script info. Also at 14:11 when you moved the red bar on play mode on your desktop screen it mirrored the movement on your ipad. but for me it did not. Any reason why? and is there a fix? thanks again for this video
I want to use the BRIGHT colors on my buttons as the default state. I cant figure out how to make the default color the brighter version I select in the picker. It only shows that color when I press the button so it makes it very dark, which I dont like. Is there a way to change this? Thanks!
I have a question. I use Touch OSC with Widi Master wireless midi into my ipad to control the 600 on the fly. The issue I have is with an assign for "cur.trk num". I want 6 buttons on my OSC screen 1-6 so i can make any of the trks the current trk easily. This reduces the number of assigns I need to use overall . I just can't get it to work. I have tried various different value formats in the "scale" fields in Touch OSC but to no avail. (Midi channel and cc controller number constant). Do you have any thoughts?
A lot of folks ask this and it's been discussed on the forums, but the trouble you may run in to is that mouse "focus" may move to TouchOSC from your DAW. I haven't tried it though.
23:12 something weird on my end : if from my editor window on my desktop PC i click the "play" button (to have my layout go live to test it) and then click one of my osc buttons, i see osc commands in the log... However if i click on the same osc buttons from my remote device, i don't see anything going on in the osc log, whereas if i click on a midi button, i can see midi messages being transmitted in the log... It's as if osc messages weren't passing through from my remote device to my desktop Pc, but the midi messages were... Any clue ? EDIT : and if i click a button that has both MIDI and OSC commands, from my desktop PC, i only see OSC logs but no MIDI log... EDIT : CLUE : i think my OSC messages from my remote device go to my desktop via MIDI, so my desktop sees them as MIDI messages instead of OSC messages EDIT : the behaviour is happening when connecting in wifi. If i try to use a usb cable instead, evn if set in USB mode, i can't detect the desktop PC from my remote device's TouchOSC connection and client/server settings
If I use Touch OSC Windows Desktop version, can I connect two portable touchscreen monitors to have two different Touch OSC Windows up? Or does a Virtual Machine need to be utilized to drive two monitors?
TouchOSC mk1 just buy ios app for ipad use free TouchOSC Editor on mac IF I want edit TouchOSC on Mac,and use layout file on iPad mini4, I need buy desktop license for mac with edit and buy mobile versions on ios app for iPad mini with control?
Hi Tim thanks for doing this series. Im having issues. I can’t get the Editor on my Pc to see my iPhone- either by WiFi network or via usb. It’s a super pain. All i want to do is transfer a layout to my iPhone to use! Any ideas what I should do?
My tablet will not connect to my PC, it just has a "connecting to editor network server" prompt hanging there indefinitely, it doesn't make sense as the tablet detects the PC as a server, but fails to connect. Has anyone else had this problem?
Are you setting the PC as the server? If the tablet is not seeing the PC as server, it sounds like a connectivity issue. Check out my MIDI Error Connections video, I walk through a few different solutions.
Thanks for the video. I have a quick question. I have a desktop PC with one standard monitor and another touch screen monitor. It is possible to use TouchOSC on my touch screen monitor that is connected to the same desktop in order to make buttons for the purpose of selecting tracks? Since basically I only need this in order to be able to select faster the desired track in my huge template, such as 1st Violins, Piano or Drumkit. This would be very helpful.
TouchOSC can work on a desktop computer with a touch screen. I haven't used it that way before though. Some other folks in the community may have experiences with it. I've always used a tablet, but in theory it should work.
@@TimCorpus My goal would be to use the Waves FIT MIDI controller to control the M32C mixer. The TouchOSC would act as an interface where I can map all the faders and knobs functions. And have TouchOSC deliver the MIDI messages to the mixer. Thank you!
Im still confused about the port send and receive after watching this. How do you know what port the pc is sending or receiving on? Is it chosen by the user? If so, how?
Hi Tim, thanks for all this! I^ve been using TouchOSC with Logic for quite a while now and it works perfect. EXCEPT .. :) TouchOSC has to run first, before I open Logic. When Logic is already running and I turn on OSC afterwards, Logic crashes. Can you think of a reason why that is? Thank you and best regards Raffaele
Interesting... Only thing I can think of is that when TouchOSC starts up and is "calling" certain ports, Logic gets confused and calls it quits, but that's just a guess. I usually turn on TouchOSC and other MIDI devices before I start up my DAW, they always seem happier that way.
Hi Tim, yeah, it's interesting indeed :) yes, I turn on touchOSC beforehand too. but I sometimes need to open another app on the iPad, like Staffed, while working in Logic and when I swtich back to OSC, the session crashes. well, I have to find another workflow then. thx again! great tool!! @@TimCorpus
Excuse me, sir. Don’t want to be a smart-ass… I’m really glad to find your TouchOSC videos. I’ve saved your playlist to my library and just started watching 🤓 0:45 Are you calling the iPad Air 3rd Gen. as pretty old? Actually, iPad Air 3rd Gen. was introduced in 2019, not in 2014. I think (hope) it is still a good device. I own one 😎
Not sure that a mobile device can be both the DAW and the touchscreen at the same time. TouchOSC is really best on its own device sending to another device.

It sounds like a connection issue. Double check that the send/receives and IP addresses are correct for OSC.
Might need to lock the values displayed with the current value.
Same issue here...
Hi Tim, thank you for such great content! May I ask about the model of your midi keyboard, which goes well with OSC?thx :)
The midi keyboard does not do osc, it's just an 88 key Casio privia.
@@TimCorpus Thanks!

You can change the background of the button, that should change the background from black to whatever color.

4:22 the bridge is used on the desktop for mifid over USB. This is critical for using TouchOSC on a desktop with a wired midi device.
Isn't the bridge also for midi over Wifi as well, not only over USB cable ?
How about using TouchOSC Windows 10 to midi control software on the same PC?
A lot of folks ask this and it's been discussed on the forums, but the trouble you may run in to is that mouse "focus" may move to TouchOSC from your DAW. I haven't tried it though.
Thank you brother
in my macbook m1 touchosc bridge only show in menu bar, why not opening the editor, is different app?
TouchOsc Bridge and TouchOSC (Editor) are 2 different apps.

Best intro ever, Loved it
Guess I should include more beagle into these videos!
Can a Mk1 template be transferred or uploaded to a MK 2 version
Yes! Sometimes they have additional OSC messages you can delete, but yes they work!
@@TimCorpus I’m glad I came across your video. Didn’t realize how deep this program was and what it can do. And not with just Ableton. 🦾
Hello, I need to send my editor template to TouchOSC MK1. How can I do it? I could not establish the connection (MacBook - iPad) !!!!
How do I create a solo button for Ableton ?
Have you checked out my tutorials on Ableton?

As far as I know, running the desktop version would only be 1 instance, one screen. I haven't seen multiple screens of this before via one machine.
Hi, is it possible to add increase \ decrease buttons for midi programe change messages? Thanx
Ya, check out this template someone made. facebook.com/groups/touchosctemplatemakers/permalink/4538371529528059

@@TimCorpus yes. No solutions for my issue. I can get it all working using the earlier TouchOSC but cannot get it working with the latest versions.

Love the video! Can I use TouchOSC to control my midas M32C using a Waves FIT controller? This controller outputs Mackie Control messages.
TouchOSC would be the controller in that scenario, so I'm not sure that's what you're looking for. What are you trying to accomplish?
@@TimCorpus My goal would be to use the Waves FIT MIDI controller to control the M32C mixer. The TouchOSC would act as an interface where I can map all the faders and knobs functions. And have TouchOSC deliver the MIDI messages to the mixer. Thank you!
Why don't you use Mixing Station instead of TouchOSC ?
Touch OSC Mk1 works on the ipad mini gen1 for those who don't know.
Thanks for this video. Very much appreciated the tips
No problem! Glad they were helpful.
Anywhere to buy touchosc presets?
I have to pay 25€ for pc editor and 16€ for Android app for tablet to work in cubase?
I believe you don't have to pay for the editor (but you can to avoid the intro pop-up/countdown, and to support the developer).
Win11 and android. How connect it? Wifi direct and phone hotspot not working.

Is there any way to use an animated GIF as the background image for a Button? Thanks.
No unfortunately TouchOSC doesn't support images.
