As a returning player looking to get into the swing of things this is by far the best guide I've seen yet. Straight to the point and visually helpful as well
This is a fantastic guide. I especially liked how after explaining a spell or a step in the rotation, you paused for a brief moment before moving on to the next topic. It gives us as viewers a moment to think about what was said and apply it to our gameplay. I love healing in WoW, and now that I've seen some Evoker gameplay, this class looks extremely fun. I love Resto Druid and Mistweaver Monk, but I think Preservation Evoker is going to steal the spotlight here shortly. Thanks for the excellent content!
Best explanation so far. I watched the method guild video and realized, that a progress guild doesnt mean somebody has the skills to provide proper guides/explanations 😂 Keep up the good work.
A really good combo is having lifebind on verdant embrace. You throw out temporal anomaly twice to apply echo to people, verdant embrace yourself, which applies it to everyone with echo (including giving them ALL lifebind), then cast Emerald Communion (your channeled self heal) then half your raid gets put to full hp
Doesnt work well since echo is only triggered on 2 people every 1.9 seconds 3 times. You have to wait 6 seconds for temporal anomaly to fully echo everyone before you can start the combo, and it is very mana heavy. Good combo, but not for raiding. Bad mana usage, time sensative, and effects too few people.
@@ethanfogarty9540 It's a great combo I've used effectively many times. once you know raid boss attack patterns, you can have the echo applied when needed and heal everyone to full. It's mana heavy, but no more than spam healing many people to get them to full from 20%
I love that you break this down to simplicity, showing us the spell name & Icon, showing us what those spells look like, and when to cast them. Thanks!
@@Moarcookiezlive One more thing - thanks for not talking a hundred MPH in your vids. Sometimes it is hard to grasp what content creators are saying or meaning because they talk so fast! A lot of people forget to include this stuff and go over different topics just playing the evoker. Thanks for describing the small stuff and covering the basics
Good simple guide. Whats good to know, dream breath is healing the same amount like if you charge it to just one instead of five. If you charge it to one, it does more heal over time, if you charge it to five you have more initial heal and less heal over time. But the amount is the same. I like to throw a lvl one dream breath into the group to quickly get a huge HoT up, and then you can freely dmg without worry to get some free emerald proccs with living flame. (if you took the talent which you should, also all the emerald bloom talents are veery good.
Best explanation of the rotation for casual players such as myself. All I need to get started with healing dungeons. I'll pick up the other active talents as I get more experienced, but for now, I'm walking before I can run.
I've been playing an evoker since Dragonflight came out, but other than the initial small dungeon, I haven't done any and I've been super nervous about doing any dungeons or raids because I haven't played a healer in forever. Brilliant breakdown of the healing spec. Others just list of spell tooltip, not helpful. The way you have broken down the spells and outlined its combos and usefulness is excellent. subbed.
I thought the evoker was weird at first, but after a decade of wow. Found the class design to be elegant. Amazing job. My favorite healer by far. The game play is very engaging and natural for dps.
For your healing rotation, I would suggest using Echo on one target and then Reversion on another, you will get two Reversions on two targets. You could even Echo one target and Reversion the same target to get two Reversions ticking if they are taking heavy damage. Awesome Video, I subbed!
Thank you, this is a great tip and I'll be sure to include all kinds of tricks and combos with Echo. For simplicity sake I wanted to keep echo short and simple. Someone just starting out can get plenty of value out of just Echo + Living Flame since this video is aimed at people probably not doing to difficult of content right away. Still awesome note so I'll be sure to include it in the full length guide
@@Moarcookiezlive Another note about echo [presumably excluded for simplicity as you mentioned], you do not have to cast a spell on a different ally to duplicate the effect. For some strong single target healing you can echo an ally in need, then cast your spell of choice on the same player for a double effect heal.
Man, this explanation is laid down amazingly! I look forward to more of your content and your channel’s growth! Thank you so much for the solid information.
What's great is we now have AI dungeons so we can practice healing on bots without the fear of backlash. I started doing that yesterday and it's been great. The bots even do stupid things like LoS you, stand in fire, run through the welp eggs and over-pull too many mobs on the way to the last boss in Ruby Life pools, etc. Not all the time, but I've had plenty of panic moments.
@@MrSalg7 if you have essence to spare and there isn't healing to do, you can use it on single target yes, it would be used after ensuring fire breath is on cooldown For beginners I don't talk about it because it can be difficult to grasp when you can spare the essence and procs on it
Thanks for this explanation. It's kinda hard to sort out the 'spell dump' into a decent rotation once you get level 60. I'll try using this in HealBot. Anyway, I do think that the burst healing spells need some good positioning of yourself and the other players. But with bosses in big rooms like Chrono-Lord Deios in Uldaman (and everybody spread out) it's kinda hard to use it properly.
I wish it could of started lower level like DH, DK, and the sub races. Trying to practice in a dungeon while trying to learn how to heal on preservation is a pain. I think Evoker is up there with Disc in terms of difficulty.

I have mostly healed on Druid and some holy priest so this is all new to me but exciting. I'm curious what your oh shit spell is such as swift mend or some of the other high value quick healing spell?
it works in two ways. i can echo 3 people and reversion a 4th, and 4 people will have a HOT. OR i can echo 3 people and reversion one of the echos, and 3 people will have a HOT, while the one with both echo and reversion will have 2.
Thanks! Why are we not spending Essence on Disentrage when we have a free cast and there is no dmg? At how many targets is it worth casting azure strike over living flame?
Essence and procs can be used on disintegrate in exactly the situation you mentioned. Being a beginners guide I didn't feel it necessary to include disintegrate. Living Flame = 1-2 targets Azure strike = 3+ targets
1) Echo can duplicate spells on the same target. So like echo the tank and then reversion, and the tank will get 2 reversion. 2) Spiritbloom doesnt "heal more allies", it SPLITS the healing between more allies. And it can be echoed. It can be echoed on the target of spiritbloom, making it a massive heal. 3) Why is no one talking about Temporal Anomaly? Mostly with resonating sphere. Not only it spreads out shields, it also spreads out echoes. As opposed to disc priests, it lasts the full duration but at only 30% effectiveness. But you can talent echo to do 50% more healing. It will also duplicate both the instant heal and the HoT of dream breath. It SAYS only 2 allies, but its per PULSE, which there are 3 of. It can stack the shield to about 20k if no one else is in range or has damage on them, but if not, it will apply it to someone else on the next pulse, so up to 6 per cast. It only has a 5 sec CD, so you can cast 2 before casting your big spells, like dream breath or spiritbloom.
Yea in retrospect I needed to clarify that you can echo healing onto the same target of the initial heal. Other than this I would say the remaining points are intended for the full length guide that will go over more advanced concepts and talent choices and how they interact with the gameplay. I'll be sure to make note of all this and include it in the full length guide :)

Yes I believe it should. Disclaimer: I haven't tried that talent in my healing build yet. In my experience when there is only one or two target to damage, the extra flames will heal nearby allies, and presumably the other way around too. If you heal an ally, and there are less allies than flames, the extra flames will damage the nearby enemies.
