I tend not to leave Omnis unread but have a habit of reading early volumes then not finishing the series up. Need to finish Green Arrow Longbow Hunters 2, Avengers by Busiek & Perez 2, Thunderbolts 3, Fables 3 & 4 and X-Men 4 & 5 and DD vol 3. Nice video and happy new year Dom
Happy New Year 👋, I have many novels that I haven't finished reading (or even started ) yet so don't feel bad. I am going to read EVERY Isaac Asimov Robot novel this year. Spider-Man 2099 is amazing and even had the character Justice from the New Universe guest star. Starman is also amazing. Jack Knight is not really a nice guy but he is a likable and relatable character. You need to finish reading it.👍
Appreciate your encouragement I have enjoyed both Spidey 2099 and Starman-at least what I’ve read thus far. I hope to finish when I can. And very cool! I never delved deep into Asimov’s bibliography, perhaps some day
Great vid as always! I have 3 of those books in my collection that I also want to read this year. Batman: The Rise and Fall of the Batmen by Tynion Fantastic Four by Mark Waid JL N52 by Johns
Good topic to discuss on your channel. I have 3 more omnibus of the Spider-man clone saga to read through. Starting to question my choices in buying the omnibus despite being a hardcore spider-man fan. It is very rough to read.
Started reading the new 52 justice league with the first book, the paperback. Do you know if these give the same experience, like do you miss out on things if you read it in this format?
My top 5 to read this year in no particular order. 1) Something is killing the children slipcase 2 2) Uncanny x-men omnibus 2 3) Green Lantern Geoff Johns omnibus 1 4) Secret Six omnibus 5) Amazing Spider-Man Nick Spencer omnibus 1 I do need to read Rise and Fall of the Batman as well. I'll make that 6.
I grabbed the Rise and Fall of the Batmen omni recently for only $80 on Amazon, and you've got me even more hyped to crack it open and start reading. I feel a strange, almost spiritual connection to Tynion's Detective Comics run despite never having read it. I have an extremely vivid memory of seeing the first issue on a shelf back when it first came out. I was ~12 then and am 21 now, and seeing that first cover in the omni just fills me with a bittersweet nostalgia and regret, as I didn't get that first issue for some reason. It really makes me wonder what might have been had I gotten that comic. Would I have started collecting single issues earlier; would I be a different person? Anyways, I have quite the backlog of collected editions to work through this year. Some of my most anticipated reads are Grant Morrison's Batman saga (including Battle for the Cowl), the second trade collecting Kelly Thompson's current Birds of Prey run, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. I also really want to read my copy of the Batman & Robin by Tomasi and Gleason omni, but I feel I need to read both Morrison and Snyder's runs in their entirety first. I already know what happens with Damien, but want to avoid major spoilers as to how other big events play out. Do you think I should wait?
Thank you for sharing this! When you do break into Tynion’s Detective Comics run I sincerely hope you enjoy 🦇 It sounds like you have some great books to read. Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow is a favorite of mine! As far as your question regarding Batman & Robin by Tomasi and Gleason goes generally yes I’d recommend reading Morrison’s and Snyder’s Batman runs prior to reading that one-simply because that B&R run is the most impacted by the other Batman runs, in a way it constantly feels like it’s adapting to big moments or events happening in the other runs. With context of the other runs I believe Tomasi & Gleason’s run is the best it can be. That being said the matter of Damien and what may or may not happen to him is probably the biggest spoiler of the B&R run so if you already know that you may be ok. A few other things could be spoiled for you-I’m thinking of something related to Death of the Family from Snyder’s run, but largely you’d probably be alright. That decision may be up to you, but I’d probably recommend the other runs first.
@@donaldallen9804 yeah I still need to finish the DC run obviously but I already prefer to the Batman run. I liked that run too but think this is stronger
I have had Batman by Grant Morrison omnibus vol 3 for 2 years, but only now started reading. Also got to finish injustice omnibus volume 1 which I started in September. Also hope to read planet hulk omnibus I got for Christmas.
Just stretched the spine of my GL Corps Omnibus v1. Afterwards, obviously it's V2, then Immortal Hulk Omni, Spidey Black Costume Omni, Spider-Man by Michilinie & McFarlane Omni.
I consider star man the best superhero series of all time. I consider it number 2 of all comics right behind swamp thing. Vol.2 in my opinion isn’t quite as good as vol.1, as it kinda gets slow for the first half of the book but after that story arc the book starts speeding up and has a good ending.
What are some of your reading or collecting goals for 2025? 📚🤔📚
By 2925 I will be able to read all the ones I have, I just hope to be alive by then.
