Paula laughing hysterically is everything
I don’t think I’ve ever seen her laugh harder.
At the darkest moment of the episode, doubly so. Paula's sense of humor is a bit harder to read then Kat's.
She laughed so hard I cracked up myself. Been waiting for the show to hit a note that really gets her.
@@preacher3670 as someone else noted, there was also the moment during the first season in Rixty Minutes when the leprechaun Top Hat Jones is eviscerated by the kids to get to his cereal hit her equally as funny. What was also great was Kat's look wondering how Paula was going to react to it.
I am simp for paula
I'm a little worried about Paula. Transdimensional Cable Lucky Charms and the shooting of Mr Poopy Butthole is the hardest she's laughed at this show.
“Is something wrong, Beth?”
*(“For the Damaged Coda” plays)*
I think Paula is on to something, the show doesn't use comedy to open you up to ideas that are sad, it uses it to blindside you with them, and I absolutely love it.
That line from Summer was darker than you realized. She wasn’t saying she wanted the police to take her to school, she was saying she wanted the police to take her out of the home. You know, exactly what would happen if they found out that a minor had a black eye because her mother got or was still drunk at like 6am when she was supposed to be driving her children to school and “accidentally” hit her daughter in the face with a wine bottle as she stumbled about. Accidentally in quotations because I think it’d sound like they were just covering for an abusive drunk to the police.
its not that hard to realize
I mean you can believe that but no she meant to school. Its pretty clear from her cadence they weren’t going for dramatic irony. Expecting people who haven’t had to deal with CPS to know how and what brightlines are considered super bad is in and of itself a dangerous assumption. People don’t know what behaviors are radically inappropriate in abusive relationships, like she probably assumed the police would just take her cause its their job to help when things are bad - and more specifically as related in american media to prevent delinquency or truancy, like if you are caught you get taken to school, or to prevent someone drunk from taking you there they could and if you are in a nice enough neighborhood they very well might.
Your projection doesn’t have to be conclusive, even if it is what she meant its pretty solidly read as teenage histrionics in arguments.
Yeah, this was inspired by Buffy. One of the staff writers apparently was a fan, and said 'hey there's this thing in Buffy where a character appears and it's like they've always been there, but we know they haven't' (a similar plot happens in an episode of Torchwood, thinking about it)
God that episode in Buffy is sooo good. I used to watch that with my mom, and I remember us both going... "wait... what ? " and being thoroughly confused for a while :P
Man, Buffy had some really good episodes. I also fondly remember the musical one. Once the show figured itself out it was amazing and even the first episodes were good in an unpolished pilot kinda way.
The intro sequence for this has Mr PB with them when they're escaping Cthulu, so it confirmed that some of the family have memories with him that are traumatic, at least
The snuffles line: "we are not like them" meaning humans.
And this after credit scene, always bring tears to my eyes lol.
This ep is in my top 10 of all series so far.
keep it coming girls!, cheers from Mexico.
We are not them! We are not them.
Watching Paula slowly like the show more and more and laughing hysterically one second and sad the next is amazing!
is it strange that i downloaded katrinas new instapicture as desktop wallpaper, downloaded DJ Young Pixel Pig and i am dancing to it now?
Yes maybe it is.
I'm sure I have mentioned Buffy before, but just now when you were describing Parks and Recreation and the 1st season and finding its footing TOTALLY described Buffy- If you haven't seen it, it would be most excellent for you to react to it. It was groundbreaking, brilliant, funny, sad. If you haven't seen it and just read the 1st 50 comments on IMDB, you would most likely be intrigued enough to check it out. Its followers are many and also quite passionate.
Rick couldn't bring himself to shoot Pencilvester, but Summer had no trouble offing Tinkles. Summer wins best sociopath!
I was hoping Katrina would mention it, but this episode MisterPoopyButthole is added to every scene in the opening credits.
I did during the opening credits! Which can be seen in our full length over on Patreon ☺️
That's what makes him our parasite.
Aww. This show makes me cry all the time. It’s so funny but it’s so funny. You’ll see with unity, the ending of season 2, the man with a toilet episode. So many other episodes. However they layer it some episodes are just funny and dark. Like the vat of acid episode. That’s one of my favorites
This is the first episode of Rick & Morty my friend showed me and I was instantly obsessed with it. I love season one, but I kind of feel like this is where the show really starts taking off in its amazing high-concept insanity.
Yeah, the whole "Mister Poopy Butthole" thing is such a weird decision, in terms of the internal consistency of the universe. I'm pretty sure it was Dan Harmon or someone else who definitely invented the character who provided the explanation that, well, you know how if you have a ton of fruit flies in your house, you'll also find spiders there? The parasites are the higher-dimensional equivalent to fruit flies and he is the higher dimensional equivalent of the spider in this metaphor, something utterly terrifying which slipped into their existence through the cracks the parasites opened up and preys upon them. It isn't really a spoiler to say that the weird Higher Dimensional aspect of that will at least be necessary to make sense of some stuff going forward.
I like Paula I think she's awesome and I like her because she gets all cherry-eyed an emotional sometimes
One of my favorite rick and Mitty episodes!
Next week.
Illumination.
Understanding.
This is one of the best episodes IMO
About why no additional characters appeared during Gary's and Jerry's date, I think it was because all the parasites were finished invaded the house. Notice no new characters didn't appear in the Nintendo and Vietnam flashback.
I’ve learned so many things from Rick and Morty; All of them wrong.
10:54 Paula giving the stink eye to MPB just like Beth
lmao i noticed that too!
i definitly need hoodie with a picture of you both on it walking to university when universities are open again in germany
that final gutpunch is amazing imho.
WhoaWhoaWhoaWhoaWhoaWhoaWhoa
Keith David wasn't just in the last season of Community - he was also the narrator for Pillows and Blankets (S3E14)
That Mr Poopy Butthole reveal never fails to get a great reaction
One of the most fun episodes for sure, endlessly re watchable
That’s what broke Paula? Wow.
Paula's rollercoaster of emotions!! chica, you're so adorable
My favorite character was Photography Raptor.
this is the best episode!
I like to think that Paula suspecting Mr. Poopybutthole means she would have shot him like Beth did x)
I love you beauties!
Lol same response as the river song reveal
It was awesome that they added Mr Poopybutthole to the opening montage.
That's what makes him our parasite
Not gonna spoil anything. I am just super excited for next weeks episode.
Always love a Community shout-out. Man, that show was *soooo* good. Infinitely quotable and very good-hearted.
There are so many good "dark" shows - community was mostly lighthearted, but was never short on deep reflections on people and society being thown in there. But always with a sense of hope.
I feel the crown for most funny, good-hearted and actually *deep* show must go to The Good Place. Imagine my surprise as a philosopher when a popular sitcom suddenly had an ethics professor as a main character - and the main plot was about learning what it means to be good (as they name-drop and even partially explain actual ethical frameworks). Never thought I'd see the day - and immediately thought "this can only be cringy" when I read the outline. To my absolute surprise, it became my favorite sitcom since (Community and) Frasier. :)
(plus, Mass Effect was like the best 2 games ever)
Check out Keith David in THE THING (1982), his movie debut, and then check him out in THEY LIVE (1988).
Was just about to say the same. Also the president in later episodes, amazing actor!
@@richardrobbin2225 Ha! Yeah, that's right, I forgot he also voices the President in this series. Those eps are hilarious.
0:50 - Narwhals, Narwhals! Swimming in the ocean! Causing a commotion! 'Coz they are so awesome.
3:20 He isn't your uncle anymore? Well that's ironic.
6:20 I really need full version of that.
11:00 I love how Mr Poopybutthole looks like giant E-Coli bacteria.
Not to be that guy... but you can catch the full thing on our patreon! Patreon.com/gallifreygals
🥰🥰
@@KatAlysha I was talking about Twinkle song, but get that promo girl. xD
@@mjm3091 😂😂❤
After laughing about Mr Poopy Butthole get shot i believe that Paula would smile and laugh more at divorce than at the wedding. :P
I never really saw this ending as a sad ending. I mean, it is, but that's kind of why it's funny. It's a deep, emotional, realistic shooting with a character we never saw before and is called Mr Poopy Butthole. I always thought the humour was coming from how seriously they suddenly take this ridiculous situation rather than it being an actual sad moment. Not sure if that made sense
12:24 Put that on a poster.
In other news, I lied about always including emoticons. :(
There is actually a card game based on this episode you can buy. :)
Go ahead, show. Keep doing it to her. xD
In other news, all my comments will have emoticons from now on.
This one has a card game based on it. I haven't gotten the game yet, but I am thinking about it.
I call my pajamas 'jammies'
I love how the only theories worth mentioning are "Reddit Theories" LOL up yours Facebook and Twitter!
Ticket theory.
Great reaction to the Summer and Tinkles rap song.
Paula will love the ABC's of Beth
Headcanon: MPB was a parasite who made himself human in Rick's lab while they were killing the others. It knew Rick would figure it out.
Headcanon: MPB is only present in this specific universe. And it is one of the things that differ this world from older ones.
@@mjm3091 If that were the case, our Rick and Morty wouldn't have hired him in a later season.
@@christianschoff2490 they got memories from that episode with mindblowers.
Headcanon: MPB was the only adult parasite; or perhaps the only parasite, and the way it embeds itself involves the creation of all these false parasites so the host thinks everything's okay in the end.
It's called a dark comedy.
This is my favorite episode.
I have Jim Jams and I'm American. 😁
Tripping the Rift?
I loved tinkles song
Grasssssss.....tastes bad.
You should react to Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
I used to be mormon
Omg Paula knows ME's David Anderson? So gamers too huh?
It’s called the spear of destiny and is supposed to possess the power of Christ and hitlers goal
they were not c-137
hmmm..... Anybody have any bad memories of Katrina and Paula? Getting little suspicious over here
What?? No??? Come on!! Remember that time.. uhm... that we were all screaming?! Man that was scary!!
Nice
