If I don't need to change the direction of the motor, do I still need to connect the capacitor? Or can I just wire up the yellow and red wires to AC voltage?
I just tried it without the capacitor and it worked. My motor has 2 black wires and 1 green and 1 red. I combined the 2 black and connected them both to neutral and combined the green and red and connected them both to live and it worked!

Do you sell the arduino boards and relays to control the motor turning on and off? I don't need to change the direction, just need to turn it on for short periods of time with high torque which i think your 2.5, 5, 10, or 15 rpm motor should be able to fulfill

What happen if you take the capacitor out? And you directly put the power supply on the red wire?
without capacitor, motor will turn both direction randomly.

The size probably doesn’t matter maybe a 1microfarad ceramic or film capacitor also don’t use a electrolytic capacitor they will explode on ac

I want to use it for a drum for a coffee roaster . And I need max 120 rpm but to be able to reduce to 40 if I load less coffee.

this is not 50rpm... do not buy.
50KTYZ is just a model number, does not mean 50RPM. We can supply 50RPM motor for this type synchronous motor, and others from 1rpm to 120rpm.
