The fear of management failure is no joke. Leading a team, motivating a team, and being responsible for a team is one of the hardest things you will have to do in your career, and if it's your very first time, if you're a first-time manager it can feel like a lot.

If that's you and you're going home at the end of the day feeling as though your failing as a manager - I want you to watch THIS video.
In this video I'm going to spell out all of the reasons why management is *exactly* where you’re meant to be (even if it feels like you’re in over your head!)

That timeline totally resonates with me. I wouldn't say I was exactly confident at the start of my management journey, but I was certainly enthusiastic.
Bit by bit over the months that followed, I started to feel like I was never going to understand how to do this job. So glad I came across this channel. At least I know now that this is a really common feeling. That in itself makes it easier to ask for the help I need.

Manager Failure is the expectation/ goal in Corp. America. Jack Welch wrote a book on it.

I got a degree in I/O Psych almost 25 years ago. Never did I ever imagine that all these years later, I get into a position where I actually have use for it.

As paintballer ive learned to repet myself. In rapidly changimg envoroment yor message of threats is Often lost. So repetition and verification is a key to the sport

Hi Mak! Thanks for this video. I was 1 year as a team leader and now 6 months in as a manager. I can totally relate here. I'm a leader now however my senior manager seems to want to dictate how I manage my team. I do not feel totally free therefore feel no confidence in making decisions. How would you handle this? Now I feel maybe the company is not for me.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Without knowing the exact details - I would say if I were you, I would have a candid convo with your manager about it. You can’t move forward in a healthy way if you don’t clear the air first.
