    I love his style. A unique style of play. He made it look so easy that we cant even think that how difficult is to play like this effortlessly. Beautiful playing style

      It's not that difficult actually.He had a huge wing span because of his height,quite similar style to Samsonov.

      its very creative obviously as most people nowadays attack and focus on their consistency. This guy is literally borrowing the attackers power and is not using a lot of energy.

    Oh Sang eun always managed to absorb all the power shots from his opponents and then play the switch in direction just at the right time. This would throw his opponents off rhythm. He would then follow up with his own placements shots and have them guessing. Very effective point after point in disturbing his opponents flow.

    Many thanks poster. My favourite player since Waldner. I keep on dreaming of an upgraded version of Oh beating FZD just by blocking and beautiful placement (Fegerl came close last year, but I think that was a one-off). Then I wake up and realise it's impossible in the game as it currently exists. A pity.

    This type of play is the most annoying to play against. As most offensive players just get countered by their own power and the blocker looks just like a wall that you can't get past

    i personally enjoy blocking, and making my attacker work harder for their follow up, if they can catch it. if they can't it gives me an opportunity to counter easily after.

    Are there any players left with this style in the modern game? I love this style and I have studied Oh Sang Eun and Vladimir Samsonov, but it seems that the faster and faster equipment with the plastic ball has turned the metagame into powerlopp-powerloop-powerloop!

    One tip, when they put a vide saying that this is the best one in the bolqueio, do not show the score of the game. Because almost always, if you are playing with a Chinese, he is losing and probably lost the game.

    I'm guessing eun is playing very hard sponge as ball is crisp and flat. I'm currently using that classic hurricane 2 great for sharp flat at the table blocks and flicks

      He was more like Samsonov backhand oriented with good blocking skills and kinda passive.Waldner in his prime was a third ball attacker like Ma Lin.

      There's a player like this in my club. He's not that good but can play like an absolute wall. I sometimes struggle against him because if my attack is not strong enough the ball just comes back

    The older 40mm celluloid balls were a little faster..more spin..Oh Sang Eun's table tennis career ended with the poly balls...He's no longer competitive and a little older too...

      He is a Korean coach now. 40 mm slowed the game , not make it fast. But yes it added more spin game.

      Molen Lee Probably yes, but placement is the problem. IMO in blocking, placement is more important than tehnique.
