At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

That chipper is a beast. 👍 but good to see it’s limits on the test run. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Great info. THx
Keep a easy to handle log out that has a branch, knot, something larger than the intake hole on one side. That way you can break the jams of smaller materials up safely without having to shut everything down. I've had the same clearing log for the entire year now and leave it on the chipper.
I was thinking I need to get something like that. Thanks for the tip
I agree that is fire wood.
I really like that chipper, Brock. Great video. Thanks.
Thank you for watching and for commenting
Great addition to the farm. I have been thinking of possibly getting one to produce mulch for around the Christmas Trees.
That’s the plan
the first thing you need to do when using a hand fed wood chipper is make a push stick from your wood pile to keep from getting your hands too close to the chipper blade or to push in one that won't feed, good vid THANX!
Brock good morning chipper works great
God Bless All

Great video! Made me want to buy a wood chipper! Problem is, I just ordered a sawmill, so the chipper may have to wait until next year. It would be nice to use the branches of the trees I use for firewood and saw logs. Now I just pile them up and burn the piles in the winter when there is complete snow cover. I use sawdust to keep the mud under control in my wood lot, but wood chips would work much better! One thing I noticed from the video...it may be more efficient to feed the branches in butt end first so they don't hang up as much. It makes me nervous when you stick your hand into the chute. I've had my own close calls even being extremely careful around machinery. Things like that can be life changing and totally avoidable. I don't mean to criticize, just want to make sure you stay in one piece.
Thanks for the feedback
What Sawmill did you order and what was the wait time like
I was ready to order one myself until they told me close to a year wait time
I ordered the Woodland Mills HM126. They said that delivery should be around the end of October. I was hoping to have it sooner than that, but later is better than never. I need to clear a spot for it anyhow.
stand to the side when tossing wood down the shute. I had a piece come out yesterday and clipped me just below my eye. And nope, i didn't have my glasses on. Lesson learned!!

Good video Brock, Nice Chipper!
Thank you sir
This channel kicks especially being all green equipment:)))
Thanks. I’ve worked really hard on it so I hope people like it
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching.
I’ve had the chipper a little while and have been really happy with its performance
Very helpful thank you
Thanks for watching
My thing is with an implement like that, I'd want the shredder opening also just for the real small stuff. I tend to feel a chipper/shredder is more useful than just a chipper alone when you have twigs and other smaller items.
Thanks for sharing. I feed the small stuff through this just fine. I haven’t seen any three-point units that were both but I’m sure they exist
Excellent video Brock thanks for the hard work. I think that mix of color chips will ok like u said it will all fade away. I would have just liked to have smelled all of it lol.
I love the cedar smell
@@RockhillfarmYT same.
Been waiting on this! I have the same one ordered. Hoping it's here in October like they said it would be. 😕 it I a chore to chip, but I don't have the luxury of burning being in the woods. We went all summer on burn restriction. It was just lifted. If I started burning now, by spring it may or may not be caught up. Great video! I will be sure to check all bolts. Normally I do just as you did. Run her a few then check. My buddy has an orange one, first time he used it the shoot fell over. So it's not just the frontier lol. Apparently land pride has the same issues. I honestly don't think they can make stuff fast enough
Im the same about not liking to burn brush frequently. good luck with the chipper
they told me 30. days but it actually took about 90 days
Chipping wood seems to be a lot work. So it’s something you do for a while and then give up on as it’s not worth the effort, unless it becomes a pastime for you, which it could be.
So a second hand wood chipper is probably a good buy, to see if you enjoy doing it.
Great video brock. Man its hard to get "likes" on youtube videos. Seems like if you get 100 veiws, you may get a few likes. Congrats on the success you had had!
Thanks
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about how a chipper would be nice for the chips. After watching this, it's way too slow and too much work for the results.
Yeah, it is a lot of work
On how many rpms working?! what is the hp of the tractor?!
Anything over 2 1/2 inches is cord wood for me. I live in a desert.
Nice video. I am impressed with this Frontier Wood Chipper. It handles the job well. I think you are going to need a bigger tractor in the near future.
I’m debating that
Thanks for watching
How’s your back feeling? Update on baby tree seedlings you planted…..
The back is doing good now. I’m finally 100% this week.
I lost the majority of the Douglas firs which people told me wouldn’t do well here. I’ll be doing an update on it before too long
When I chip with my Woodland Mills stick branches in fat end first works better that way
Thanks for the feedback
I was just trying it both ways
@@RockhillfarmYT I enjoy your videos 👍👍
Thanks
I appreciate it
Some people just aren't smart enough to operate a wood chipper - limbs MUST go in BUTT FIRST.
I'm missing the bamboo to try
Bamboo?
yes, greeting from Venezuela
@@cesarcastro99 OK. I don’t have any bamboo here.
Seems like it would be soft and go through easily
Bigger part goes in first
Yes sir
Thanks for watching

You should have watched a RUclips video beforehand, so you know how to properly feed a wood chipper.
Or, I could just share my experience as an average guy out doing stuff and making mistakes
