Nice. Just out of curiosity, does the harman kardon system also come 7 speakers (6.5x2 front, tweeters x2 front, center front x1, and two rear deck speakers? And dors yours have onstar?
I have a 2007 lucerne cxl myself and after researching/ shopping around, i also went with atoto a6, hows the stereo doing thus far?
Very interesting & good tutorial. I have an 08 CXS
Thank you! I hope you are enjoying your car as much as I do!
Good tutorial... Exactly what I looking for... Question? Do I need extras for the Nav function, Sirriusxm etc?
Thanks! The Atoto head unit came with GPS antenna for Google Maps, Waze etc... as for the SiriusXM, I did not use it. But the harness that you will buy will take care of that if you want to retain the functionality.
Thank you
Hey, great video, very well done. I have an 08 Lucerne CXL I've been thinking of doing this to. Do you mind linking the products you used?
Thank you! Please see the links below.

@@hottiescapades6347 thank you. Did the mounting bracket and surround come with the new head unit or is that a separate item?
@@alextower8729 I got bought this one: Metra 95-3305 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for 2006-up Chevrolet Vehicles www.amazon.ca/dp/B000K52CWO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_kw86WVKwgtGtx
What happens if you connect the cable before you flip the switch...tho number 7????
Do you have links to which gm harness you used, and which mounting brackets you used? Did the brackets come with the a6?
The mounting bracket needs to be purchased separately from the harness. Link for the harness is in the description. As for the bracket, here it is: amzn.to/3wflca9
Hope this helps!
What are the white and red RCA cables used for? I noticed you don’t used them.
I honestly couldn't remember now. I'll have to check the manual for the harness again. But my guess is they're for extra speakers or sub setup.
What atoto unit is this specific one? Does it do Apple car play?
It's the A6Y2721PRB-G model. No Android auto or CarPlay since I did not purchase the dongle for it. It's not worth buying. I mostly tether on my phone's data and use the Google apps like maps and Waze. It works well for me.
@@hottiescapades6347 so can you download the apps to the stereo? Or how do you do that? I’m interested in how that works. I would like to use the stereo with an iPhone.
@@moejr14 you can download the apps. Think of it his way. It's like you have an android tablet in your car. As long as it has internet acces, you can download the apps. If you want to have Carplay or Android auto, they have a new version which is the S8 series. I believe it has built in AA and AC.
What year buick lucern did u install that in
2006 Lucerne. I believe the same applies up until 2010 models
Can you show me how make factory camera work??
Mine did not have a backup camera. I had to buy one and hook it up to the head unit. There's an RCA connection and a trigger wire.
What are the steering wheel key (+) and the steering wheel key # (+) mean. Because I cant get some of my dashboard to work
I have a 2010 traverse
What I'm understanding is that they're supposed to be inputs for the steering wheel controls. You connect the positive to the (+) only and the other spliced into ground.
If you look at the back end of the audio jack input, the positive gets spliced into the (+) and the negative into ground.
I an currently working through wiring mine on a 2012 Sierra.
Turns out, both are positives. Some Japanese cars have two steering wheel wires.
You should connect to either randomly until it works, the instruction says.
Some have connected to only this cable, others have also connected to ground as well. I'm going to confirm on mine later today.
2012 GMC Sierra: no luck.
I have CANTX and CANRX wires coming from an Idoing canbus decoder.
The ATOTO has Steering Wheel Key (+) and Steering Wheel Key#(+).
Per the instructions, I've tried connecting either to positives while connecting the other to ground.
I've also tried connecting TX/RX to (+) /#(+), and no luck.
The steering wheel controls intermittently works only when I connect the RX to either (+) and the other to ground.
Anyone successfully connect a GM canbus to an ATOTO radio?
Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, just posting solutions that may hopefully help someone. This is what I got in an email from ATOTO customer service this morning:
**
There are two kinds of wiring methods.
Method 1: If there is a 3.5mm male jack for SWC on the wiring harness you purchase, please directly connect the 3.5mm male jack to the 3.5mm female jack on the ATOTO power harness;
Method 2: If there isn’t a 3.5mm male jack, but has steering wheel control wires on the wiring harness you purchase or your car harness:
For the positive steering wheel control wires, you can connect them to either “Steering Wheel Key(+)” or “Steering Wheel Key #(+)” wire on ATOTO power harness. (no sequence)
For the steering wheel control ground wire, you can connect it to the black ground wire on ATOTO power harness.
NOTICE: For both methods, if you need to select a radio type on the module, please select Pioneer.
Both the “Steering Wheel Key(+)” and “Steering Wheel Key #(+)” have the same function, no difference between them.

For some odd reason. My steering wheel control will only program 5 buttons.
What button doesn't work?
@@hottiescapades6347 the play/pause button
@@294919 does the button from the steering wheel respond if you assign/program it with a different button from the head unit?
@@hottiescapades6347 yes it does.
@@294919 it might be the software part of the head unit then? Is yours an Atoto as well? I can check mine when I get a chance later and let you know
what really sucks about this car and alot of others is that you have to spend good money on a head unit and then you have to spend at least another $200.00 for a harness interface kit.... SUCH A RIP OFF ANYMORE with everything. ITS ALL ABOUT $$$$$$$$. You cant just hook up another radio like we did in the 1980,s and 90,s with no extra or problems....... It really sucks... Talk about business control with people!!!!!!!
