    Superb Discussion for integrators and av dealers like myself to better understand Def Tech products ,from the lovely intelligent pannel about how passive radiators work,and especially why definitive uses it,how the low freq part is handled by the built in active sub and adjusts the bass according to the input passive signals from the avr or stereo amp in the definite line up,also the visuals on how the sound is projected by a bi polar speaker as compared to traditional front firing/rear firing gave me a good insight.Thank youall , Lookin forward to more informative videos.

    This is really awesome and thanks for doing this. Great discussion and it makes me appreciate being a proud owner of these amazing speakers. I was initially the owner of athe bp9020 towers, but I was fortunate enough to be able to upgrade to the 9060s through bestbuy’s trade in program. And while the 9020s were awesome, boy these 9060s really set off my entertainment room. I constantly get compliments from friends on my set up. My usual go to tracks to showcase these bad boys is some lossless audio which my pioneer elite AV supports. Lastly, this solidified my doubts about using the LFE input with my AV. Won’t be doing that now for sure. Thanks for this nice content.

    I have been enjoying the BP7006's with rear surround speakers exclusively for music only, purchased in 2010.....Unfortunately the woofer amp just blew in one of them. These are the best speakers I have ever heard, bar none. I actually had a neighbor asked me how long I've been playing piano - except I don't have or play a piano. It was a recording played through the BP7006s

    Amazing video Phil! I just subscribed to the channel and in the three videos I've watched, I have learned so much. I'm super thankful for this content. This video in particular helped so much because BP9000 are not your typical speakers and they're so many opinions on how to place speakers, crossovers, etc that don't necessarily follow suit with the 9000's. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

    I guess I'm "old skool" Definitive. I have BP30s L/R, BP3000 powered sub center, BP10s sides, BPX surrounds and two Powerfield 1500 subs. Bought back in the late 90's and all are still going strong. I looked at the newer powered towers a few years back and they were light and had plastic end caps instead of polished gloss wood. What a joke compared to the heyday when Sandy Gross was running things. After the BP7000, it seemed like the bean counters came in. I wish the company well but they put out a lot of plastic trash that damaged their reputation IMHO. They seem to be holding on to the same basic design philosophy but making it with less quality while raising the prices. I haven't checked out the Atmos stuff, hopefully it is better built. Looks like they put some thought into the elevation module connections.
    (Edit): No plastic after 8000 series yeah!
    Running all through 2 Sunfire Cinema Grands with the mains Bi-Amped. I've heard tons of systems of all price ranges and I'm still happy 25+ years later.

    I have 4 bp7004's but can't use 1 of them as the hum sound coming from the amp is so loud it isn't listenable sadly. 2 are making the hum but not so loud that I can't listen to them yet and 1 is still quiet. Where can I find replacement amps or repair information that isn't ridiculously priced? I also have 2 subs that stopped working years ago but when I called customer service the process and costs were more than buying a new SVS PB1000.

    Holy moly....
    I really want at setup of this speakers for my amature cinema. I traded my B&W DB1 for two Definitive Technology Reference subs. (wanted two cheaper subs for better/ more even preasure in my room. Then this guy (whom I suspect wanted to do me a solid one🤪), comes along, and asks if I would trade my DB1 for his two DT Ref. (I had never heard of this sub, started researching, and in my research, ended up wondering why the hell he wanted to trade???)
    Well...we traded, and the "new" subs are so insanely amazing that the rest of my system (which was good enough before), now is a bit meeh 🤪
    Need to start saving for a complete DT setup now 🤷‍♂️

For sb I have the 800 pro-monitors. I still have to upgrade my subwoofer and my AV from Pioneer to Marantz. My only concern is I can barely hear my A-90, would be ok to crank levels up a few notches? WOW, they do a great job about not answering a question but just saying how great they are. Be man and say how far from the wall as a minimum they need to be. We get it you don't want to use the LFE. That's fine but almost everyone out there says to set your mains to small (never larger) and just cross over lower than the normal 80htz if you want better lower end. I have 2 SVS PC 2000 PRO's and want to make sure they get the right information not just the DT speakers. All of what you talked about was great for 2 channel listening. Most to all Home Theaters all have an external sub and would be nice to now how to use YOUR PRODUCT with what I have. Calling your customer care is about as useful. Maybe just return the 9080 center and 9060 towers and stop the headache.

    • @madcrabber1113
      @madcrabber1113 3 года назад +1

      Connect with speaker wire to front right and left, set receiver to LFE not LFE/Mains, set size to large, crossover at 80 hz from mains to sub, set center etc to small and crossover at each speakers recommended level or higher. Took me some time to get mine sounding decent but with these settings they sound as good as I've ever heard them sound. My other system has seperates, 2 SVS subs big ass Klipsch speakers up front and passive Def Techs for center and surrounds. Sounds awesome 👌😎

    I have had Definitive Technology speakers since the BP6 and BP10. I now have the BP9060 and the CS9040 center. The only complaint I have with my towers is I have had to replace my amps 3 times on both towers. Please enlighten me on why the amps keep going out?
