Some excellent content. I know that I am not as prepared as I need to be, and am working to change that. My wife and I have been married 14 1/2 years, in that time we were forced from our apartment at 4:30 AM when our building erupted in flames. They found PFAS in our local city water supply and of course, COVID-19 and we were overseas in the Philippines when lockdowns and travel restrictions were being imposed Internationally, thankfully we made it home. All of these events carried with them different challenges, which is helping me to really think hard about the types of disasters we face and everything from EDC to get home bags, including strategies for getting home while travelling internationally. Thanks!
Another great video, I stocked up on reloading components (powder, primers, bullets, and I save all my brass), so that I have the ability to reload my spent cases. Also, all my reloading equipment is portable, everything I use to reload my own cartridges is "grab & go", so that I will have the ability to reload from anywhere. None of my reloading equipment is bench mounted. Thanks for the tips. JT
My first viewing of your channel. Well done. Unfortunately, I also believe that we may be headed for more difficult times. The weakness we display to the world's dictators only invites more evil from them, and further alienates our allies. It is true that there is only "peace through strength". All the best for this Thanksgiving holiday to you and your family.
The point made on a storm knocking out the power fire a couple days is a great place to start. Winter storms can also close down roads for a couple days, and there's really no need for those things to be a huge deal. It's intimidating thinking about starting on long term plans, so just start with the ability to get through a couple weeks in case of a natural disaster, then grow that to maybe a month or two. It snowballs so easily, and so much is learned in just the small exercise. And even in boring day to day life, it's nice to just say "I don't feel like grocery shopping this week", or not having to go shopping within an hour of getting home from a vacation or whatever.
This has been my main reason for building my bugout/get home bag. I live near one of the larger cities in California and given the already restrictive nature of how things are done here, war would touch us hard. I have places I can go in an emergency, to get away from people, but if infrastructure fails or there is an attack that knocks out the ability to communicate or travel through traditional methods, I have a VERY long walk to get to someplace safe, so I really want to be ready for that possibility.
At least you understand your issues and that makes it easier to figure out a solution. Most people don’t even think about things like that until they find themselves in a disaster.
I live in Houston and last week we had our "practice" hurricane. I stumbled on your videos about three months ago, because I was looking over my emergency preparedness supplies and seeing what I needed to restock on and what I can add to the supplies. Your video didn't mention meat, during World War 2, meat was heavily rationed for the war effort. Even if the next war doesn't require ten million soldiers, the cost of fuel will make it more difficult to get cattle to the markets and from ther to the store shelves.
Very well said buddy this situation that is happening could be resolved by just rational thinking and talking with each other and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family

Have 2 years of preps and multiple ways to filter/purify water when my stores run out. I only have 100 2L bottles of water i refill annually and can uae for cleaning or cooking. I know, plastic bottles are yucky but, you gotta work with what you have. Been planning on putting in a 500 gallon water tank in the basement. Biolite camp stoves with USB chargera work well as a multi fuel stove.
Outstanding video my brother. Unfortunately I believe foreign adversaries are entering our country as we speak. If the balloon does go up, there will be skirmishes within our borders. Like where you said “prepare for the worst, hope for the best”. God be with us all.
I agree. Not typical military but more like what we’ve been seeing into the Middle East these last few years, just on our soil. You can bet they’ve already arrived.
@@dadbudgetadventures yes, I try to keep stuff in my trunk so I'm prepared that way. But in my boyfriends car, not so much. I need to get it ready also.
I believe cooler heads will reduce escalation. We may face some tough times, however we the people have proven time and time again that we can put aside political differences and work together in times of crisis. May you and your family have a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving.
Russian oil has effectively been removed from the global supply and the price of gas in the US has been minimally impacted. Why? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production Paranoia and anxiety disorders are real. Convincing people that a dystopian wasteland is just around the corner is just preying upon their insecurities.
I’m not saying anything about a dystopian wasteland. I’m saying things will be difficult and they need to prepare for the leaner times. This is always a good idea but during times of war it is more important.
@@dadbudgetadventures the video specifically calls out the storing of liquid and gaseous fuel as a mitigation for forecasted outcomes. If removing Russian (literally one of the top global producers) oil and natural gas off of the global market hasn’t resulted in material impact, it is fair to question the forecast. The vast majority of Americans can do the math and realize that storing enough gasoline at home to sustain for any significant amount of time in preparation for a nearly zero probability scenario is wasteful and dangerous. This doesn’t even consider the relative risk of homes storing hundreds of gallons of volatile fuel in their homes. Think about that for a minute. Every home in the neighborhood has hundreds of gallons of fuel stored in unsafe conditions because some RUclipsr convinced them that something bad was going to happen. The risk of fire from the prep is far, far higher than some global political scenario where gas goes up more than a couple of bucks a gallon. It’s demonstrably bad advice.
You learned nothing with the global pandemic, probably, for you, didn't happen. Thanks to the early warning of my 13 yr old about the pandemic we where able to stock up in food and PPE. All he is doing is educating people, the more people is ready the least number of looking to rob otters to feed their family. Keep thinking like that se where will take you. All the above is with the most sincere respect to your beliefs.
@@Setsunafsaiaiwhat we learned in the pandemic is that hoarding made things unnecessarily bad for everyone and made shortages worse than they needed to be. If we look through history, communities prevailed by shared sacrifice and coming together. WWII had rationing, victory gardens, and people pitching in so we could get through it together. Convince yourself that difficult times will be sitting on a stockpile shooting your neighbors to survive and that is the reality you will create.
@@D2chukhna Yes I do agree, but, if more people gets ready ahead of time less people will hoard, and again I do agree with you, this not what we want, hoarding. lets start here I do agree that many of this videos can create worrisome for some people, but also can help people on natural disasters. can be use local or can be donated at time of rotation that's the way I see it

Thanks for the great story. That’s good for thought for sure.
“War is a Racket” by Smedley Butler… a must read/listen.
The title is certainly accurate enough to get my attention.
Tied into your Grey Man video - stock up on food, but also get in line like your neighbors so they don't start asking questions.
Absolutely. Desperate people are dangerous people and if they know what you have they will show up.

That’s a great approach to staying stocked on something that could be worth a fortune one day!
Really straight up well put nothing irritating about the video damn good job!!:)
Thank you for the praise. Glad you enjoyed it.

Dont forget seeds! Grow a garden to have fresh food to supplement your canned/preserved food.
For sure. Self reliance is all about providing everything you can

Absolutely. And I can see rationing meat just because they can.
Great advice as always on any subject. I have been telling my friends to stock up for several years now.

It's more likely now than ever that conflict comes to America. Patriotism is lackluster in some areas and various factions want to take a bite.
Patriotism has become a four letter word. Our enemies love that.

Can you make it without paper money? Will paper money be worth anything? Buy you a bicycle, a .22 and a fishing pole now.
And learn how to use them or it’s pointless to have them.
I watch a lot of 1940s, we could only hope it's like that.
