Wow....Dido Lament is yet another very powerful, stirring song by Annie. Annie your songs have always moved me and your song "Why" made me ask questions about my own life that empowered me to make positive life changes! Thank you forever Annie♥️
Wonderful interview with the wonderful Annie, and what an interesting back story on the song. I am glad the recording finally got released even if it was 10 years later and in such unfortunate times! But I think she is right. Though things weren't exactly rosy in 2010 either, it somehow seems more relevant and fitting now than ever before. In any case, thank you for the many years of wonderful music Annie, and have a safe happy and merry Christmas!
I love Janet Baker and Joyce diDonato's versions which are very classical but this is very moving too. Annie Lennox is magic. As I listen I remember Naomi Munakata the Brazilian choi r conductor and educator who died in March when Covid hit Brazil. Missed by Marin Alsop and Nathalie Stutzmann who conducted Mozarts Requiem and other major choral works for OSESP (Sao Paulo.) .
I've played it over and over again. Such a beautiful rendition of Dido's Lament!

A stunningly beautiful piece of music. Moves the soul. My family used to say goosepimples... is that weird !?
After she applied Dido's Lament to the pandemic, I thought about the 2.3 million souls lost in the past year. I broke.

🤔 Yes. I guessed that song Annie was talking about & then you can hear just one note of that song before it cuts off.
