I just subscribed to your channel. I love Joey Landreth. I discovered him via that pedal show and now I'm obsessed with his music. Thank you for sharing this.
I really love his comments regarding amp volume. The 100W Two-Rock at volume 2 probably sounds way better than many other 22W, American voiced amps at volume 10. I disagree with the thousands of RUclips comments saying that 100W is always too loud. The biggest issue is knowing what volume the amps sweet spot is.
Yeah I can verify, his amp was NOT super loud at the show. I was shocked at how quiet he had it set actually. PERFECT volume for the room. His band is so dialed that literally the moment they started soundcheck, they sounded perfect. It's all those little things (like making sure the master volume is amazing on your amp) that add up to an amazing, seasoned performance
Nice interview man 👍🏻👍🏻. Friendly bit of advice though. Try not to look around when the interviewees are answering your questions. Makes it look like you’re not listening. It was still a great interview though 👍🏻👍🏻
If you like that Dimension C, and don't have the luck or cash for one, note that Behringer made a clone of them for a while, before they bought TC and discontinued a big chunk of the Behringer pedal line. Unlike the Boss pedal, the Behringer version used cheap buttons that allowed one to press as many or as few at a time as you wanted (even all 4!). If you press *no* buttons, you get a lovely slow-Leslie type swirl. If you see one for sale new or 2nd hand, do yourself a favour and snag it!
@@AaronSternke I'm supposed to be meeting up with Joey at his soundcheck later this week when he's in town. I made a rather unique modulation pedal for him that I thought he would like, because I think it suits his style. Who doesn't like a one-of-a-kind pedal? One where they can say "That? You can't buy that anywhere. It's a secret.". I'm pretty stoked, and he indicated similar eagerness. I hope it doesn't disappoint. Wish me luck.
Joye plays in open C with thick strings.. I think he needs an amp with some headroom.. Lower tunings require more watts to puch the bottom out cleanly..
He must use a different type of open C tuning because it is not like open D or open E--the intervals are different. Open C has the sixth on the high E string, where open E and D have an octave
Yeah seems like he’s really uninterested and saying yeah before dudes finished answering and looking around, I feel bad saying it as dude seems really nice
My favorite guitarist right now. Joey is a treat to listen to. Thanks for the video!
Tyler W thank you!
Me too :-)

Great interview mate. Joey breaks hearts with That slide, absolute monster.
Maaaaaan, his tones are so fantastic.
Love Joey. Great player and such a nice bloke too.
Definitely more of a Run than a Walk but still packed with loads of Joey class ...
That two seconds of Ry Cooder tone has me weak in the knees.
Same. The entirety of Paris, Texas passed in front of my eyes during that just one single lick... Joey is such a great player
SAME. If you want to hear the whole thing go to 12:31 here: ruclips.net/video/K7omA4Hv7ks/видео.html

Joey is a little more animated in this compared to his other interviews.
He is also sponsored by Jackson Ampworks
What kind of guitar case (boat) is that? It looks very practical.
Looked like a custom case - but yeah it was really cool - fit 4 guitars and doubles as a stand

Great vid. Love Joey! Did you happed to see what version Sunface it was?
Not sure exactly... he said it was a loaner but didn't say which one it was
If you look really hard you can see that is says NKT 275
@@MWallis2 This makes sense - the NKT 275 is much beloved
Wow!
A Boss Dimension C! Wow

Cedar Bay Joey uses C - G - C - E - G - C
Check just after 10 minutes on this video - Joey talks about it: ruclips.net/video/dSreFRxL2go/видео.html
That two rock is THICC
what happened to the Collins
I'm sure he's still got the Collings :-)
You need to practice your interview skills! You didn’t even wait for his answer in the introduction 🎸
I thought about exact same thing right off the bat.
yeah that was awkward
Don't clap bang the mic pls, there's no audience to be incited to clap. It just makes you look nervous.
Yeah seems like he’s really uninterested and saying yeah before dudes finished answering and looking around, I feel bad saying it as dude seems really nice
no relation to Sonny Landreth ?
tonelocrian no relation :-)
