    Wow! You are so productive! I usually knit a couple of hours a night and 20 or so minutes each day, during my lunch, at work. The bulk of my knitting happens on the weekends, I’m an early riser (4am) so knitting is the perfect quiet activity.
    I really enjoyed this video! And I am SO looking forward to the release of your Lauder vest/sweater/cardigan patterns.
    Thank you so much for sharing and all of your lovely designs! Take care.

Will be interesting to see what your designing process is! Can't wait to watch! It's a good idea to have a way to know who's applying for your tests many times without having the chance to be chosen. Maybe my turn is coming ;-) I love your patterns so much! Bye!

    This was such a fun week to "spend with you," rather like a lovely holiday whilst still staying cosy on my sofa.
    Thanks for sharing your progress, and ~especially~ for making me feel better about how many project bags I have stuffed into corners & crevices - each one bursting with WIPs.
    I hope your "spend a week with your favourite designer" becomes a regular feature.
    On a side note, that flower motif on the bottom row of your swatch board *needs* to grow up to be a jumper (AKA pullover sweater.)
    ❤ I *NEED* it in my life! ❤

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад

      Ah this is SO lovely! I can promise you that I have yarn in almost every single room of our flat, and on more than one occasion I'll find a lone scrap on the bathroom floor.
      The floral motif is currently being knit up by some testers for a magazine pattern! It's not a sweater, but when I rerelease the pattern I will be adding a cardigan option.

It was really exciting to see your office with all the yarny goodness. Im deeply in LOVE with that cascade pink Tolsta you're knitting!! The colour is so gorgeous with your hair and colouring! I've made two three quarter sleeve Tolsta's, one in Kinross 4ply Seaweed and a striped one in Purl Soho Good Wool dk...I love them!!! You're are so inspiring Rebecca. I noticed a few times you mentioned that you'd knit for 20 or 30 mins here and there and I realise I wont knit unless I have a clear hour at least, so, Im rethinking 20 and 30 minutes. It’s so interesting to get an inside view of another’s week and thought process and progress mania. It helps it seems to me that you schedule everything. Imagine how much I could get done if I did that. What a concept! My husband’s plans everything; he’s an engineer. I’m so scattered. I change my mind when the wind blows. I’m amazed at how much you can get done in a week.
    Can I ask what kind of work you do you do other than knitware designing? I think you’ve said before but it’s not in my current memory, lol. When you say you don’t do this thats amazing too because you are such a natural.

He's never had a sweater, he's hat a few hats and a few pairs of socks but he's been vegan for about 18 months now and we've not quite landed on what he feels about wool. No rush to knit one for him now, I'm more than happy to knit a lot for myself.

      There are a whole load of obsessed-with-knitting scots! We're taking over the world.

    So, where do I find so much executive functioning? You're a knitting rockstar.

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад +1

      It's funny because last night I finished work and lay on the sofa for 4 hours because my brain was fried. So there is definitely a limit to the functioning!

      @@the.creabea I understand that. I just feel like zoning out more often than I'd like when it's knitting time.

      @@angrytrees7519 I’m reading this as I’ve just finished work, want to wind my yarn but want to nap so I feel you. Might rest for half an hour and then try to wind and swatch.

    What are all the meetings about? 😊
    It’s fun listening to someone else talking (basically) to themselves about their day. I do that constantly, and I don’t even have a podcast!
    And my dogs had to squeal right along with yours! 🐶🐶

      A whole host of things! Usually projects we're running or clients we're meeting. They're quite varied.
      I realised that as soon as I carried the camera around with me I found myself talking nonsense at it a lot of the time. It was quite cathartic!

    Hi Rebecca, been following your podcast. Its fantastic how you juggle managed to knit so much in a week! Can't wait to see your finished sweaters. And yes lovely pink from Cascade ..what's the name of the color?❤❤❤

    Is the blue and white swatch on your board inspired by Delft Blauw pottery? If so I can't wait for whatever pattern that'll be a part of!

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад

      It's not really but I love that thought path. It's inspired by a blue and white waistcoat I saw EVERYWHERE last summer. It's currently being developed for a magazine and should be out in April.

    For your Tides Sweater, have you considered a slight bell sleeve? I also like the idea of a no decrease balloon sleeve.

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад

      YES! The big debate in my head was whether to decrease or just do bell sleeves, so I've done what i usually do and we have options. I'm going to make the cardigan bell sleeved!

    Loved this episode - thanks for sharing with us! I’m curious - you seemed to chunk up your time in blocks (20 minutes to read, 30 minutes to knit, etc). Was this for the benefit of the video or is this how you normally manage your time? I can see how it would help keep a structured work/life balance. ❤

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад

      I think a bit of both. I usually tell myself, "Okay you can knit until X time" because otherwise I would just stay there and not get back to work. So it's usually more deadlines and less "blocks" but I think I just shared them as "blocks" for the video.

    hi hi Rebecca, so nice to watch this. what a wonderful enjoyable video! i have some designs (lots maybe) but i don't know how to write a pattern really, i keep notes, and i don't know how to grade, are there resources you recommend to lear how to do these things?

    Thanks for the video :) I love the cream (white?) jumper that you were wearing on a couple of days, please can you share what pattern it was? I'm jealous that you can knit so much during work - I have a lot of meetings too but I either have to facilitate (screen share) or take minutes so there is no way I could knit during them - maybe I need to get a different job 😅 x

      It's not really a pattern, it's just a made up raglan, but the Tolsta would work well! It's a 16 stitch gauge and Tolsta is 17. it's drops lima and drops kidsilk mohair.

    You're so fast! Do you ever encounter hand pain with knitting? I also work a computer-heavy 9-5, and I find that every so often I'll encounter knitting pains. Trying to nail down whether it's because of the computer-heavy work, needle size, whatever, and just curious if others have the same issues! (I'm also an English style, so considering learning Continental to see if it helps.) Love seeing this type of video!

    • @the.creabea
      @the.creabea  7 месяцев назад +1

      I never have any hand pain anymore! I used to when I first started but I think that was using 8mm needles. I think the trick is having different projects on the go so that your hands get a break from doing the same thing.
