We ate at that place. Her sister owns a Aloha Dental and Greentree Optical. Wonderful, amazing lady. Actually took me to a Dr who read my ultrasound for free! She also found me a surgeon in San Luis, the next town east of there. I had my gallbladder removed. I got a crown and a cleaning at Aloha Dental and a pair of glasses at Green tree. Cant express enough how good these people treated me. I will always go back.
Thanks for sharing lunch, that's what I love about Mexico. Also music , little bands at restaurants, bars , street s .. I like Los Paradecio , . Open air places, to eat ,dance , drink . Street tortilla de camaronis.
Your videos are the best of the best, better than ( I won't name names even tho I want to) anyone else on the topic of desert living, especially in southern AZ
Algodones is good if you need medicine now. I have been ordering from India much less expensive xarelto brand name from India $20 box, generic $3.50 a month. Having said that down there for a teeth cleaning and checkup soon.
So cool that you made a captivating report of us, Molar City! Los Algodones is also known as Molar City, the Dental Capital of the World. We have been guiding, for free, patients from the US and Canada for over 13 years. We provide with free scheduling on the top dental clinics, lodging assistance and transportation too! Feel free to contact us to collaborate! 😎🥳
What a cool drive. Are those palm trees in the middle of a field? Lots of shade for the workers, right? Hehe. Do you know what they grow in the fields? The little city is so cute. It's so nice that the cartel is not bad there. That's so cool. Thanks for letting us come along on your special Valentine's getaway. Enjoyed this so much, you two. Thank you.
Thanks, Kelli :) We saw broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and some other things. They're really big fields too. Los Algodones is pretty cool I think. It's hectic and there's a lot going on, but everyone seems to be friendly and I've never heard of any crime there.
My understanding is that most of the common medications are available - with the exception of anything the US classifies as a "controlled substance." Sometimes one pharmacy will not have something, but another will have it in stock. We don't need too much, but usually have no trouble finding what we do need.
Happy Valentine’s Day in Mexico. Food looks delicious. So glad you invited us along. Hope to get there one day soon. What was the wind like down there that day? It looked calm.
The food was delicious! We both ate too much, but at least the outing provided a good walk. LOL The wind was pretty bad in Quartzsite, not too bad but still blowing in Yuma, and not bad at all in Los Algodones. It was also wonderfully sunny and warm - unlike Quartzsite that day which was also rather cold. It turned out to be a good day to go to Mexico! LOL
Los Algodonas is a favorite. Stop every year. Now, I don't mean anything personal, but a great place for a $4 hair cut, just sayin'. 😁 Safe travels. --Mark
It used to be that a Drivers license ID was sufficient to go in and out of a border town, but now I think a passport is required at least to get back into the USA. Correct??
According to the State Department, they do require a passport even for walking across to these border towns. Mexico does not require anything, but US does check people on entry and ask about what they are bring back from Mexico. All of that being said, I do know people who have crossed recently with only a Real ID and birth certificate without difficulty - sometimes just with a warning to get a passport for the future.
I have never been asked, though I believe it’s officially limited to a three month supply on any one trip across the border. There are some medications that are restricted, but usually those are not available at the border pharmacies anyway - things like “controlled substances” but many common medications that require a prescription here in the US are available and not a problem to carry back to the US.
I went to Northwest Vision Center for my glasses. The experience there was good and I have no complaints about the glasses themselves (still using them several years later). Their office is located on Ave A between 3rd and 4th. It's kind of tucked away and easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but there a few street corners there with maps of the town that may help. Their US phone number is 928-248-0203 if you want to call for better directions. We do plan to return again this winter and will shoot a few videos there, but it probably won't be until January I think.
Good questions, Connie! I'm going to make a video to answer your question in more detail, but at least in Los Algodones most of the vendors are conversant in English and they deal in US dollars so no currency exchange required. Both of these things may be different further into Mexico though.
That's a good question, but I'm afraid I don't have a great answer. As far as my understanding goes, the parking area is actually in the US though you can literally see the Mexico border. The parking lot is, however, in California so whatever the current regulations are in California would apply to the parking area and the roads to the parking area. On a related note, I have heard of people accidentally ending up stuck in line to a border crossing when they didn't plan to drive across the border.
You are brave going there, it's very dangerous now, US citizens were kidnapped and killed, I don't get it the Mexicans and others want to come here and US citizens go there, there's plenty of places here that are beautiful and safe 🙏 just saying is it really worth it 💙🕊️🍵 I wrote this comment bcuz you and M are very nice people and I would hate to see you taken by cartels 🙏 please be careful ☘️ have a peaceful day everyone
I was rattled over the news from the past few days. On one hand, I've not heard of problems in Los Algodones, but on the other hand I also don't know Mexico well. While we did not have any trouble (fortunately), I would be more reluctant to go again right now. Of course, my mother would be happy if I never went again as she worries the whole time ;-)
Not so Algadonas is safe as Yuma. The Federals are there with their AK 47s right at the border And the police walk the streets. Actually probably safer than Yuma

Pancho is our dentist here in Algodones (Dr. Francisco Castillo). Lupita's is the best, I try to only eat four tacos!! Bob in Nevada
I like the dog . thanks for the video
love this place, great video

I'm headed there for dental work tomorrow. Quote $5,000.00 las vegas nv. $1050.00 there.
Definitely appreciate the name of Fish Taco Shop.
I hope everything went smoothly for you on your trip! I'm amazed at how much less expensive dental care is there.
@@RobertWitham it did. And I so enjoyed the fish tacos you recommended.
Algadonas is safer than Yuma. The Federals are right there with their AK47s and the police are all over on their bikes and cars.

I would have tried to adopt it 😊
Thank you for the drive
Id like to know what types of medications you can get there

Do you need to show the Border Patrol a US prescription to bring medicines for personal use into the US?

Where do you prefer to go for glasses please

Is it safe now..we went and did the walk in before the pandemic for dental.
I haven't heard anything this year. We may go down a bit later in the winter though.
How is the border now in December '23 with other one closed now?
Nobody ever talks about the green door
Nice thank you! Did you need to exchange your currency? Did you speak spainish?

Can you leave your gun in the parking lot in your car if you decide to walk into Los algodones?

its really safe los algodones, more than yuma and much than major of mexican and american cities.
I want to have implants done there. Is it safe for a daytime visit to the dentist?
