    Great and helpful video. Having lived in Yuma previously and traveled to Los Algodones frequently, I can imagine how overwhelming it can be to choose a dentist for someone that know nothing about the area.

      It was a game changer for us. We couldn’t afford a fraction of the work we had done if the only option was in the US. Hopefully the video is helpful for others!

    We loved your video showcasing our beautiful town, Los Algodones, also known as Molar City!
    It's wonderful to see the charm and vibrant atmosphere of our community captured so well. Los Algodones is truly a unique place, not just for its picturesque streets and friendly locals, but also for its reputation as the dental care capital! 🦷✨
    Thank you for highlighting what makes our town so special. We hope your experience here was as enjoyable as your video. ✨

      We're grateful that it is so easy to access quality dental care and great dental professionals... the people standing on the street harassing you as you walk can go away. Most people visiting Los Algadones know where they are going before they get there and do not need or want to be harassed. That's why we made this video - so people know of a great dentist and know exactly how to get there! We'll be back in a few months for follow up work and look forward to seeing the staff again!

    A very well presented video. My own experience in Los Algodones is with SANI Dental (full mouth restoration), but on all points about crossing the border for dental care I fully agree with you. One suggestion I'll add here is to do internet searches and plan a visit to see several dentists for evaluations. That's what I did and it helped greatly in making my final selection. I'm absolutely 100% pleased with my results so far!

    Couple questions…can you cross the border for the day on a visa? Do the dentists take credit cards?

    • @CalledToWander

      @@kayak9078 You need your passport when returning to the U.S. side (no visa required). This is for Los algodones only. Yes most if not all of the dentists accept credit cards.

      Sorry but we don't have the receipt handy and our dental work was extensive so I just know what we paid to walk away with multiple root canals, crowns, fillings, implant and deep cleaning. I just know it was 1/3 or so what we were quoted by our former discounted dental office in the US

    Can you go a little more in depth on the implant procedure? How many visits was it and how long did you have to stay for each visit? Can you park overnight in an RV in the parking lot? Thanks.

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  2 месяца назад +2

      The implant is complicated and does require multiple visits. Can't get too detailed as our case required a bone graft, which was an additional few trips. But you will need multiple trips, plus in some cases weeks or months (graft) in between visits. We frequent the area between trips to Baja int he winter so this works fine with us. Yes, there are camping options at the nearby casino and an open camping lot next to the parking lot. RVs are not permitted to stay overnight in the parking lot as far as we know.

      I can echo what @CalledToWander said on implants but will add my own experience. As he said it is a very patient-specific question. In March of this year I had 7 extractions and 4 implants done. For me at 65 years old and in generally good health (not good dental health, obviously) it was a 3 day stay. Day 1 was 3D imaging and planning the work. Day 2 was the surgery and placing the implants. Day 3 was placing the temporary acrylic prostheses. After 6 months of the bone growing into the implant I will go back to have the final, permanent prostheses made and installed. Had I gone in a slower time of year it is possible all that work cold have been done in one day. But for me, walking in summer heat in Yuma is a no-go, I'd melt.
      My work was done at SANI Dental and I do recommend them highly. sanidentalgroup.com/
      On the big parking lot, suggest contact the tribe ahead of time to ask about sleeping in your RV in the parking lot. I know that over-night parking is allowed for a fee, but I do not know if you can sleep there or if they require you to go to their RV campground instead. Here's a link, parking fees are going up October 1st:

    • @CalledToWander

      You will need a passport to cross into Mexico and back into the US. There’s a chance Mexico won’t ever ask to see your passport as they don’t stamp them but going back into the US you will need to show your passport
