Good video - a little tip I've learned over the years is while working on sinks and basins is to always fit all sink stoppers/plugs just in case the little grub screws or other small bits fall down the drain. It save a lot of dismantling the waste trap.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks! I have been putting off this job for months, if I'd have known it was this simple...... You've saved me a plumber call out or just replacing the tap due to not knowing the simplicity of solving this problem!
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠.
EXACTLY what I was looking for - thank you so much
+Allison D happy to help👍🏻
Thanks Franke, saved me a lot of time and money.
+ian atkinson 👍🏻👍🏻
Many thanks for ur video. It helped me fix my issue. Also the hint about the gap on the white clip was really useful. No more leak. Cheers.
Glad it helped! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Just found this video and finally fixed my stiff Ascona tap properly - I say stiff but the whole tap was turning with it. Had mine a while so no "just popping" it out for me - tried silicon wd40 then had to use a bit of the silicone grease just to help get it out. Cleaned it all up as shown and then regreased with the silicon grease as suggested in the comments. Now it's like I bought it new - amazed it was so straightforward really and just as shown in the video. Thanks very much aaanton11
Thanks Cath for the great comments love to hear a good fix story👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you! That swan neck had been getting stiffer and stiffer over the last 6 months - fixed in 5 minutes!
Great stuff 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for posting, good demo
Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
Great vid dude 😀lovely camera angles
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the pointer about placing the gap of the nylon shim at the back :)
That's what I'd missed out on when refitting the new o-ring set (1425R) :(
Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻
Two minutes to watch your video and ten minutes to fix my kitchen tap that has the same problem. Thanks!
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for this "How to" video, my girlfriend has OCD and I was able to replace her Franke Olympus spout after watching it, so didn't have to get a plumber in, which would have been a major ordeal for her.

Thanks Glen for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Gonna try this tomorrow its a different brand of tap but should still be the same job. Thanks 👍
Yes they are all very similar, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks. Did the trick with a similar Howden's / Lamona version.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks I thought the whole tap would need removing your vid saved me hours.
Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Cheers 😁 cold water valve leaked so replaced (of course it was not standard !) Thought I'd sort the stiff neck while I was at it - so perfect vid thanks.
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you for posting that`s my next job.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks ,Some others say put the plug in as not to loose anything down the waste, also silicone grease as Vaseline ruins the seals ?
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Good video sorted my problem out
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Any advice on how to remove the aerator (tap flow restrictor) on these types of necks because these are a little different to the other ones that are made to screw out. With these styles its very difficult because of the way its designed?
I can't say I have ever taken it out, you can clean with a back flush, by removing the neck as in my other video, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great vid. I've got a franke tap with mixer handle. The lever is quite stiff and sometimes moves the whole unit. Can you do a video on it please?!
This video will help, ruclips.net/video/FxgREymmekg/видео.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi mate. The neck of my mixer is leaking. Had a quick look after watching your video and the problem is that mine doesn't have a grub screw at the back. Another difference with your tap is that mine has a threaded collar at the top of the neck that screws down onto the base. Do you think my spout just pulls out ? Cheers
there will be something holding it in, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Very helpful video! Will the petroleum jelly degrade the gaskets?
No issues here, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the vaseline tip, solved immediately!!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
My basin mixer tap is a Franke Olympus tap and recently started leaking from Spout.
I have purchased the replacement O ring parts but I am unable to unscrew it and cannot remove the Spout.
Also, the tap is dripping So I tried to remove the handle and look into the cartridge if it needs to be replaced. But when I removed its screw the stiffed cold handle and the cover of the cartridge does not move clockwise or anti-clockwise at all.
Any idea of how to loosen it and which tool can unscrew it without a scratch or denting it.
Regards
Ali
this is the kit you need amzn.to/3eBxeT0 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Thanks, but I have purchased the replacement O ring parts but I am unable to unscrew the grub screw and cannot remove the Spout. it won't come off !!
aaanton11: did you solve your problem because I have similar and cannot remove the spout? It must be limescale, I am trying with white vinager but no luck so far.
hi, done as demonstrated, however still leaks , what to do next pls, a new one?
There is a link in the description for some new cartridges just pop them in, thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 where is the link again?
I have a Frankie tap thats leaking at the neck, but my tap has no grub screw, any suggestions how to remove the neck?
It will be a tiny hole round the back, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Do you need to turn the water off at the mains to do this?
Or isolate the tap if they are fitted, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Put the plug in the sink in case you drop the grub screw and use silicon not Vaseline or you will destroy the rubber bits...
Thanks Paul for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
was it still leaking after?
No all sorted 👍🏻👍🏻Thanks for watching 🛠
@@aaanton11 I replaced mine with genuine seals from franke and it's still leaking
A good video and useful information thanks, but always use Plumber's Grease for repairs like this and not Vaseline. Cheers
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Don’t tighten the grub screw too much as you will have difficulty moving the tap at all !
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Should be silicone grease not vaseline. Don't even know how I've ended up here 😂
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I replaced with fresh o rings today, my tap still leaks 😔
Try New cartridges links are in the description, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Vaseline? petroleum jelly will rot rubber o rings
Thanks for the great information, what would you use? Silicone grease 🤔
Absolutely Silicone grease. Like mentioned Vaseline will destroy the o-rings and silicone is waterproof.
@@aaanton11 Yes, silicone grease or sometimes called plumbers grease. Vaseline will destroy the rubbers within 6 to 12 months.
I use food-grade silicone.
Vaseline ! That will rot the rubber washers
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
