I'm sorry but this could be tweaked big time. We can apply the same to prejudices on people in general. Children this age do not see anything beyond what is present to them, the same reason a person becomes 'racist' could make the person discard a lot of people of particular characteristics, as long as they aren't their own. It's ignorance by all means, and if theres one thing a person of a certain ethnicity can't empathise with is definitely race, as they will never be able to achieve that through natural means (as opposite to everything else common to all of us humans). So honestly, thinking of racism or lack of it in this video is a bit partial in my humble opinion, since that kid may not hold a grudge towards black people for instance, but he may yet grow one against people who think differently within the parameters of what is acceptable. Sorry in advance for taking the charm out of this but that's how I feel and I believe we give too much attention to one part of it and not enough to the rest. Colour isnt our only difference. Beautiful video nonetheless.

Well I know from my personal experience too. When I was young I never noticed anything different even though I was darker than most of my classmates. Then I grew up and started to hate my skin color and then thinking back, I realised I never had this thought when I was a child. It's sad.

It was one day in I think 5th grade that we went to a museum on a field trip and some random teacher says randomly “everyone is a LITTLE bit racist, even if they dont realize it”. That started a whole year where I was over focused on race and I was worried about if I was acting different around some kids than others and it made me feel awkward and not sure how to act, when before that point it had literally never even crossed my mind and we all just interacted naturally. Adults, please just let kids be kids.

I even had a picture of me as a baby being bathed and she was next to me, we're still friends now to this day and we're both adults :)

This is why we love kids.. they have so much innocence that's hidden from the realities of the cruel but beautiful world. We see their interactions and for a moment we don't see the realities of how adults treat each other. We see nothing but beautiful innocent encounters of love.
Well the black baby hasn't grown up yet to become a nuisance in society. And the white baby hasn't lived long enough to notice patterns of behavior among different groups. It is not 'hate', it is just common sense to stay away from blacks in the same way that people learn to stay away from pitbulls.
