I’m so glad you did Slave 4 U. What an iconic song. This song came out the year I started high school and I had just started going out with my now wife then this song hit massively so it reminds me of her and that time. I’m so glad I got to hear it in all its separate Glory (pun intended for the Brit Army). Thank you so so much for this.
Ive always liked this beat so this was dope to hear. I still wonder how this would've turned out to hear Janet on it if she didn't pass up on it....for an obvious reason, i feel.
Recently I heard Pharrell say Janet did record it. It’s just never seen the light of day. This is by far one of my favorite Britney songs.

I think she originally sang 'I really wanna dance, dance with you' and then they changed it to 'dance tonight with you' but both of the takes are included in the session stems
I’ve loved watching these breakdowns.. especially the Britney ones. My trifecta of music has been Britney, Tori Amos and Evanescence for years. I don’t known if there are Evanescence stems out there.. I know they are super complex and would love to see those broken down if they exist.

That dreamy melodic fluty sound coming from the track stem labeled "Flight.time comp_01" can also be heard quite clearly in "The Rhythm of the Night" by Corona released in 1995. Just fast forward to approximately 3:02 in to the song. You're welcome!

The whisper one and the two “I really wanna dance’s” sound so weird in the mix because they are actually different takes that didn’t make the final cut. With the second “I really wanna dance” I get it because she isn’t that clean, but the first one was sooo great! She added extra raspiness in it which I think fit it really and I prefer that one over the final lead vocal. The whispers are cool but would’ve eventually distracted probably…

I been searching for that sound on a lot of different arturia synths and haven't found it, does anyone know from what synth it is?
Neptunes used a Korg 01W around this time. Could be from there. Check out the SEM plugin from Arturia for a similar sound. Or maybe the Emulator plugin.
They say that Max Martin made Britney record phrase by phrase of his productions so he could work on her voice better

Hahaha no it didn’t have a candle in it it’s a specific glass made to keep particular beers from oxidising and spoiling their taste. And the gasses release from the beer they are trapped in the decreased space in the top of the glass and don’t let oxygen spoil the alcohol. I thought it was all bullcrap til I tried it and even coke taste better in that glass! Haha

I think these ones were actually emailed to me by a viewer. I didn’t have much Britney in the beginning but a Britney fan reached out to be a resource and asked me to give the midnight mixes treatment to the files they had.

If it comes my way I will most definitely do it. Just no luck so far. I want to do Toxic and I have that but the files are all Cooked because it’s a protools session so I have about 2 thousand 1 second samples and 10 second voice clips I would have to arrange to hear the song.
