Awesome, this is much better than any caricature course on udemy & skillshare. In a very short time you taught how to draw a caricature. Thank you so much for sharing this! Great job!
Thank you for sharing this. This is the first time a professional affirmed that you draw that "type" of eyes, or that "type" of nose and it works! Very appealing style, and you're curves are perfect which adds to appeal. I practice everyday and just about give up but you inspire me to keep practicing. Thank you
Thank you. I remember my first caricature teacher always saying "draw what you see and then just exaggerate!" and that wasn't enough for me. I think beginners need more structure, so I'm trying to provide that. I'm very happy to hear you like it.
Oh man. I was really enjoying this video up to the point where you started going over how to copy already-rendered features onto your caricature. It was disappointing because you seem to have already known the basics about caricature, especially the head shape. Yet, you just stopped there. You don't just mix and match, already drawn, features in order to accomplish the likeness of the subject. Make it your own. I honestly don't know why this rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe because I don't want people to use this idea for future caricature work. It will just end up being a crutch, that in no means works. Or it could of been that you already knew some of the fundamentals of caricature and I was excited to see the process. Then you just ruined the whole sketch with that philosophy. And personally, you seem way more talented than just subjecting yourself with copying features. I could of seen the sketch way more interesting with you partaking in your own approach. Don't hold yourself back from that! You're better than that. Sorry about the criticism out of NO WHERE, but I really wanted to speak my mind about it which could hopefully benefit you in the future, or other artists as well.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. Like you said, I do know at this point a lot of the fundamentals of caricature. But when I started, I did not know them. This is a video meant for beginners to give them some vocabulary... which is something I felt I needed when I started. It's the video I wish I would have had. I don't think I stick to these techniques as a crutch in my current work, but when you're starting out, I do believe is helpful. If people choose to stay there, that's their choice.
this is the BEST tutorial of caricature drawing... thanks!
