I definitely believe the more fabric variation you have in a Dresden plate, the better it looks. It's already round yet pointy, so more fabric isn't going to make it look too "busy." It adds to the charm of a Dresden in general. The second variation really highlights that idea.
Love all the variations, so It's hard to pick a favorite. The one with the ring in the middle really caught my eye. Glad the Midnight Quilter is back!! 😍
The third variation was the best. Very hard to choose. It's like being a judge on a show and you have to pick a winner when all the contestants are spectacular. I love your fabric by the way.
I loved the Dresden plate that was divided into three horizontal part and the middle part was a low volume when it was put together it is reminded me of a wagon wheel, but really, I love all of them . Angela. I appreciate everything you do and love to watch all of your hidden talents in Quilting. See you later, Janeen Wright
When you let your own light shine without inhibition, you’ll find that the same positivity comes right back at you in all you do. Please tell us about the goof quilt for your family reunion!! Who won it?
I DISCOVERED your video's by accident! OmG, I love your energy! TELLING all my quilting friends! I haven't made a quilt top in years...just getting back to enjoying my seeing. I am a night working, so on my nights off I normally just eat and watch mineless tv, now I am inspired!
My favorite is the one where the plate is split into 4 sections, and the sections placed in the corners. Creates all that wonderful negative space for quilting! Thanks for the great video!❤
My bucket list includes creating a dresden quilt. My favorite layout is the one that creates the inner circle! Thank you, Angela! I am a quilter today because of your influence! ❤️
I can't believe I'm saying this since I love the original Dresden Plate so much, but the "twisted" one is my new favorite!!!! So much fun watching your videos!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I started making Dresden’s after my grandson was named Dresden after his German grandma. She passed and my daughter wanted to name her son after something about her and her heritage. So she researched Germany and came up with the city Dresden and said it was so beautiful she had to name him Dresden. That grandson of mine is so proud to own some Dresden plate quilts from this Gramy and he will love your variations.
How fun! I just pulled fabric to make a modern looking Dresden plate quilt...and now have even more variations to play with. I love the setting you are showing for your quilt...and am anxious for the next video to see more! Thank you for all you do...I learn every time I watch you...even after 50+ years of sewing and quilting. Now...if my big machine would get finished at the spa...sigh.
I am a fairly new quilter. I have only been quilting for a year. I love the Dresden plate but I thought it would be too difficult for me to do and just didn't have the confidence to try but watching your show makes me feel that it is doable . Thank you for giving me confidence in myself to try. I love the twisted look! Your a great teacher and I love your show.
I like the variation that had the three strips of fabric joined to make three colors stacked and then inverted in the adjacent blade. My grands aged 3 to 7 sat mesmerized watching your video. Too fun. Then they went to my work table and set to designing using fabric squares I had sitting there. Looks like the bug has bitten them already!
You’ve inspired me to pick up where my late grandmother left off on her Dresden plate quilt pieces maybe I can switch them up like you have so brilliantly done here. You are the expert of our opinion. 😂. Thank you so much for sharing.
Every time I see a Dresden plate quilt I think, “that’s way too fussy for me to tackle”. After watching your tutorial - I am ordering the Dresden Plate ruler. Loved your awesome variations! Thanks so much for giving me the inspiration and confidence to give this a try. So glad you are back, Angela🥰
I made a Dresden quilt for my parents and used all my scraps from all the other quilts I made for my other family members. My parents love it. I like your Dresden with the light circle in it. But they are all pretty.
I liked the 3rd plate design best because I loved how the thinner strip of fabric at an angle gave a spinning effect! Love your show! The return of your videos was a bright spot for me this year.👏👏👏👏
I like the first Dresden you made but that was a hard decision. They are all gorgeous. You are the best I have learned so much for you I have been watching you for years and your the reason I quilt❤️
I've never seen the Dresden split up and placed in the corners. I love Dresden blocks and that's my favorite right now. Thanks for sharing the variation of this wonderful block!! LOVE your channel, you and you're amazing talent!
I LOVED the second variation of the Dresden block! :) But really my favourite is just watching you make any of the variations!!! So happy to have some midnight quilting back!!
I think I like the spinning Dresden block. After several glasses of wine, they make all look like that! Just kidding. So glad you are back doing the Midnight Quilter!
I loved the last wonky cut Dresden with the swirling movement effect. Love your new fabric line! I just bought a new machine with tons of decorative stitches and can’t wait to play with it. Thank you so much for your generous sharing of knowledge...keeping us all sane in a wonky world!
Oh Angela! I laughed out loud at the "Tell me I'm not the only quilter who talks to themselves. Sometimes I just want to talk to somebody smart!" As a singleton, I talk to myself all the time... not so sure about the second part, though ;-) Thanks for a great video. I like these new "chapters" sections format, which would come in handy with a longer class video.
I love the Dresden Plate blocks. I think my favorite is the one with the three colors where the white background fabric makes a circle in the middle, it sort of gives it a wagon wheel look. Can't wait to see the setting, it looks great!
I LOVE THE LAST VERIATION AS IT GIVES THE DRESDEN SO MUCH MOVEMENT WITH THE DIFFERENT SHAPE AND DECORATIVE STITCH MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE FINISHED PRODUCT. WONDERFUL FABRIC COLLECTION SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, AS PLAYFUL AND THE COLORS ARE SOFT ENOUGH TO NOT TAKE AWAY FROM BOTH THE FABRIC AND THE DRESDEN. THANKS FOR THE DEMONSTRATION.
We can do so much with the Dresden plate design. Thanks for highlighting this old design in new ways. I love the corner one because I can see so many possibilities - actually - I love them all.
I love the second best! And, along with every other viewer, I would LOVE to win that bundle!!! 😂♥️ Seriously, aside from that, it is sooooooo nice to have you back!
I like them all however, the Dresden made by cutting the fabric on an angle is my favourite. I love the way they looks like flower petals when it’s finished.
I love the 3 variation using the 3 fabric strips. The first quilt I did was a Dresden plate, that I did with my Granny. That was how she taught me how to sew. I hand applicaded the plates to the blocks and left the center open.
I love the twisted one. I discovered how to make the dresden block this passed yr . As a new quilter I was terrified but it was really very simple. Fun fact : the pattern was publish in the 1930s. Always enjoy watching you videos you make quilting seem so easy. Thank you.
I really like the 2nd one with the same center. Thank you for showing us all another way to attach the center. Perfect timing, as I am attaching centers today on a Checkered Dresden for my mom for Christmas. Thanks for coming back online, I look forward to your weekly show!
My fav is the 3rd variation, starting with sewing wide and narrow pieces together, and the completed dresden has the appearance of spinning. Thanks Angela!
I like the wheel or ring in the middle. I’m a beginner quilter and making my first quilt by hand. I actually picked a Dresden design for it. I may have bit off more than I can chew, but I’m having fun! I’m learning so much watching your videos. Thank you 😊
I haven’t made a Dresden plate, yet. My favorite of your blocks is the one on the mat in front of you at the end of this video. The one with an inner solid ring. I think a design with many of those would make a fascinating quilt. I also love your fabric collection. Thank you for the video.
I really liked the circle effect by using the three- colored strips. I also liked the stripes. Dresdens are a favorite of mine, and a quick go-to block. Love the Midnight show. Thanks.
The ringversion is my favourite, even though I like all of your versions and will try them as soon as my kid is in bed :). I am so glad your are back!! Missed your humor!!!
It's so hard to pick!! I really love them all, but if I had to choose I would pick the twisty variation. I love this quilt, so I guess I have to put it on my mile long "quilts to make" list. Love you, Angela!
I loved that you showed the corners! I keep forgetting to shake my quilting up. Also I like that you used decorative stitching. Another idea that I brain fart on. Can't wait for the second part!
Love the third block ("spinning" blades) because it is so different. I really enjoy making quilts that are "different" and a new twist on an old pattern. Love this quilt. Already on my To Do List!! And I just ADORE the new fabric line. Will probably have to break my rule of not buying more fabric until I use some of what is in my stash (unless of course I win a stack! :) ).
I loved the second variation! You could even swap it with another set of dresden to end up with two opposite blocks or make it scrappy but keep that middle ring in. I think it would also be fun to play with the center shape!! Do some hearts or make it scalloped or spiked out to look like the pistil of different flowers. 🌼
My favorite is the 2nd Dresden with the 3 color strip unit. It reminds me of the windmills my Dad loved so much and always stopped to take photos of while traveling.
I like the second variation. The light bulb came on when you showed how to piece it. Thank you for being a great teacher! I have learned so much in the last 2 years from Build a Quilt and Midnight Quilter.
I love all the versions. But the twisted one is unique and something I would never have thought of. It is so wonderful to have you back!
I love the 2nd one with the ring in the middle. So pretty! Thank you for coming back to quilting at "Midnight!"
I loved the second one..all of your colors are so pretty ..love your videos !
The second variation was my favorite. I love how it created a “circle” around the plate! 😍
I love Dresden Plates but I've not seen that wonky, twirling one! That is fabulous. How fun that would be to do! Thanks, Angela.
This one is my favorite too. However I think the different variations make the quilt awesome.
I like the last one
The Dresdens in the corner has to be my favorite. They are all pretty but that just pulls me in!! 😍
Love Dresden’s, I’m currently making a checkered Dresden; I want to try the second and third methods, love the variation!!
I'm making the same in Christmas fabric for my mom pray I get it done in time 👍
The third is my favorite!
Sounds like fun!
My favourite is the twisted. So glad you are back.
The third variation was the best. Very hard to choose. It's like being a judge on a show and you have to pick a winner when all the contestants are spectacular. I love your fabric by the way.

Mark Twain expanded on Charles Darwin’s observation of blushing when he said, “Man is the only animal that blushes. Or needs to.”

The spinning Dresden design is enchanting.
My favorite is the second one. I just love your show.
Angela I’m so happy to have The Midnight Quilter back! I love the wonky block because I’m a little wonky myself!
I have never been interested in Dresden plates until your video. Thank you for your creative genius!!!
You’ve inspired me to pick up where my late grandmother left off on her Dresden plate quilt pieces maybe I can switch them up like you have so brilliantly done here. You are the expert of our opinion. 😂. Thank you so much for sharing.

Love this Angela. Miss the Midnight Quilt Show.

Thanks for a great video. I like these new "chapters" sections format, which would come in handy with a longer class video.
I loved the 3rd one too. I haven’t done a Dresden yet but after seeing that variation I am now. So glad you are back. Really missed you.
I liked the 3 color plate @ 9:13 the most. Not only is the circle cool, but those nesting seams are my favorite to sew!
I love the Dresden Plate blocks. I think my favorite is the one with the three colors where the white background fabric makes a circle in the middle, it sort of gives it a wagon wheel look. Can't wait to see the setting, it looks great!
I like the variation of three fabrics in one blade. Who knew this was possible? 😀
Love it reminds me when mom used to make that pattern. She would have been 104 today. I will have to make one.
I'm a fan of the twisted variation of the Dresden blade. I also love your "sayings" fabrics and would love to receive them.
Once you laid out the quilt, my favorite are the 4-corner Dresdens. They make a secondary pattern in the quilt that's so cute.
My favorite is the one where you started with three strips pieced together. I love the way that comes together!
I love the twisted Dresden. I didn’t think I would but, it is such a nice difference to the traditional way.
My favorite was the spinning Dresden block. Who knew it was so easy to make a Dresden block? Not me!
I love the wonky, spinning version best. What a fun way to spin a traditional block!
I love the one where the plates are in the corner. It’s not your typical circle one and I think you could have fun with different colors.
I love the Dresden Twist. It spikes up the Dresden block. You fabric is beautiful. Actually every fabric you have designed has been gorgeous.
We can do so much with the Dresden plate design. Thanks for highlighting this old design in new ways. I love the corner one because I can see so many possibilities - actually - I love them all.
I like the variation where the plate was divided up and sewn into the corner of the block. I don’t think I have ever seen that done before.
I like them all, but being 60 y/o, I guess I prefer the old fanshioned one! two colors one plate! ;) In love with the quilt!
I love the second best! And, along with every other viewer, I would LOVE to win that bundle!!! 😂♥️ Seriously, aside from that, it is sooooooo nice to have you back!
Love the Dresden in the corner -as a longarm quilter the background center would be so fun to fill.
The circle Dresden!! Now I want to make a whole quilt of them! Thanks Angela!
I liked the twisted version of the Dresden blocks. The narrow strip pulls your eye to the block.
I really liked the twisted blades. So glad the Midnight Quilter is back!!
I love all the variations, but the traditional Dresden plate is still my favorite!
I just love them all but the one that wins my heart is the on with the circle around it. Thanks for coming back I have missed you
I really like the third Dresden block. Looking forward to putting the Dresden in a braided quilt.
My favorite was the one with the circle in the middle of the "blades". Your fabrics are so cute!
My favorite is the one with the circle in it. It looks much more complicated than it is, and that's always my favorite block. LOVE your videos.
I really like the Dresdens in the corner of the block. Happy Quilting everyone❣
I’ve never made a Dresden plate, so I’ll start with the simplest and work my way up. I actually got a Dresden template in the mail today!
I really like the one with the slanted narrow strip down the side. I think it takes a traditional block into the modern arena!
My fav is the 3rd variation, starting with sewing wide and narrow pieces together, and the completed dresden has the appearance of spinning. Thanks Angela!
My personal favorite even though I love them all, is the 4-corners (and your humor!).
I like the wheel or ring in the middle. I’m a beginner quilter and making my first quilt by hand. I actually picked a Dresden design for it. I may have bit off more than I can chew, but I’m having fun! I’m learning so much watching your videos. Thank you 😊
The dresden plates that are divided into the corners would be my favorite, I think. I love them all... Thank You
I like the Twisted Dresden because I’ve never seen it before. I especially like your teaching method.
I'm so glad I'm not the only quilter who talks her way through cutting and sewing!!! I really like the "twisted" Dresden.
I haven’t made a Dresden plate, yet. My favorite of your blocks is the one on the mat in front of you at the end of this video. The one with an inner solid ring. I think a design with many of those would make a fascinating quilt. I also love your fabric collection. Thank you for the video.

The ringversion is my favourite, even though I like all of your versions and will try them as soon as my kid is in bed :). I am so glad your are back!! Missed your humor!!!
I liked the first block you did, two colors in grey/blue and white. I love the Midnight quilt show.
It's so hard to pick!! I really love them all, but if I had to choose I would pick the twisty variation. I love this quilt, so I guess I have to put it on my mile long "quilts to make" list. Love you, Angela!
Thank you for designing a traditional block in new ways. I like the "checkered" one with the center ring.
I love the dresden with the circle middle. This is such a nice twist to a traditional design. I love the finished quilt design too.
The Twisted Dresden is my favorite. Also, the corner Dresden is the answer to a pillow I am making. Thank You!
First time seeing the Dresden plate variation that looks like it's spinning, I just fell in love with it
I like the option that looks like a checks in the middle. So cool. Thank you
The plates in the four corners is such a lovely layout! Very glad you're making videos again.
I loved that you showed the corners! I keep forgetting to shake my quilting up. Also I like that you used decorative stitching. Another idea that I brain fart on. Can't wait for the second part!
I like the one where 3 fabrics are stitched in strips. I like the circle design it creates in the center. Looks fancy!
The twisted Dresden one. A kaleidoscope Dresden is something that would be an interesting one.
I loved the second variation! You could even swap it with another set of dresden to end up with two opposite blocks or make it scrappy but keep that middle ring in.
I think it would also be fun to play with the center shape!! Do some hearts or make it scalloped or spiked out to look like the pistil of different flowers. 🌼
The ring in the middle for me! They are all great, but the ring in the centre stands out for me.
The dresden block I love is the one that has the circle in the middle. That's beautiful!!
Loved all the variations but the one with the circle going around the middle is probably my most favorite
My favorite is the 2nd Dresden with the 3 color strip unit. It reminds me of the windmills my Dad loved so much and always stopped to take photos of while traveling.
It’s hard to choose a favorite, they’re all sew pretty! I think the spinning pinwheel is my favorite. Thank you Angela!
I love the variations but I think my favorite is the one with the third color on the edge of each unit. It looks like a spinning sun. So beautiful!
I like the checkerboard version best, but I now see the endless possibilities of variations.
I like the second variation. The light bulb came on when you showed how to piece it. Thank you for being a great teacher! I have learned so much in the last 2 years from Build a Quilt and Midnight Quilter.
I like the three color strip design. That circle created in the middle just adds extra interest for me.
I liked the block with three strips that alternated the yellow and grey from inside to outside of the Dresden. You always make quilting seem so fun.
The third variation is my favorite. I like the idea of something out of the ordinary. The fabric is beautiful too.
