  • In this video, Dr. Webb talks about nicotine and what it does to your spine.
Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical found in tobacco products like cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes. When nicotine is inhaled or consumed, it rapidly enters the bloodstream and travels throughout the body, affecting various organs and systems. Nicotine is known to constrict blood vessels, leading to reduced blood flow to different parts of the body, including the spine. The spine, like other structures, relies on proper blood circulation to receive oxygen and nutrients for healthy function and maintenance. Nicotine use has been associated with an increased risk of developing certain spine-related problems such as degenerative disc disease, vertebral compression fractures secondary to osteoporosis, and in general higher rates of lower back pain.

At 23 I needed adhd medication, and never got it.. I had a laminectomy which failed.. now at 25 I’m prescribed adhd meds, not that the pills from the pharmacy have any consistency on effectiveness, but I have refrained from all nicotine use. When the adhd meds work I have no urge to use nicotine.. it’s horrible that smoking is legal.

Yes, they still contain nicotine and usually they have no filter. The only difference would be the quantity.
