After watching this video half a dozen times, I bought this tent. I Absolutely Love It! I am female, 5'6" and I set it up Easily by myself. My sister and I slept in it with a porta potty in between us lol. Lots of room. We put moving blankets down on the floor. It was like glamping. Thank you so much for your video. You rock!!! God bless! (Amazon is still selling this tent, but temporarily out of stock.)
I researched a LOT of tent before plunking down my hard cash...I believe "you get what you pay for." I decided a couple of years ago to purchase the NEMO WT4...and Steve, I AGREE with you 100% that it is hands-down THE best tent out there. I'm a senior, aged 75, (I car camp by myself) and can still put it up by myself in 15-20 minutes, taking it easy, step-by-step, just as you showed. The key to making it easy is understanding how the two poles work...set them out just right, and BINGO, up it goes! It's not the least expensive tent out there, but it's worth every penny
You sold me on this tent last year and I'm glad I got it. Such a cool tent. Super light but easy to set up and spacious. Shame they discontinued it because I'd love to have gotten the garage accessory for it.
I remember when you got this tent last year. I really liked it and still do. Very well constructed and plenty of ventilation. 2👍up. Being in Canada, our winters are very harsh -25 to -35f. If I were to own this tent,I would install a stove jack through the top or side and run a wood stove. I only truck camp and own a Bereg UP2 hot tent with insulated underpad...mind you it's heavy at 51lbs. You aint backpacking with this tent..haha. This tent goes up in less than 1 minute, lift center pole like an umbrella, that's it. It's made in Siberia, Russia and designed for there harsh weather. You can see the tent on YT search. Great review again👍 Thanks for the share Brother 👊💥🇨🇦🇺🇲💥👊
Heya Steve. Just got our Wagtontop 4P and can't wait to try it out in the Wichitas. You were part of our decision to take the plunge on this tent. Thanks man!
I hate that they discontinued this tent. I got it a few months ago because you recommended it & I fricken love it. I just got a cot today so we'll see how that goes. What coasters do you use to protect the floor?
This is a love debut to this tent. Enough to finally convince me after 2 seasons of spying on the Wagontop...I’m finally going for it, some great deals on this tent right now.
Nice tent. It looks attractive. I have a couple of tents like it where there is no rain fly. Those clips are stitched onto the tent fabric at the seams. Those threads penetrate the fabric. As long as the factory applied sealer holds up it will stay dry. Eventually it will leak at the seams and youll reapply sealer. Its not magic. Its just sealer. It wears out. The buddy heater is propane. The other issue, aside from CO, is nitrogen oxide. Even vented you are still breathing it. This is why gas stoves are unsafe. Perhaps consider a diesel heater instead.
Great video and guide, touched on all the points I care about, especially the weatherproofing and ventilation. Just made my purchase thru REI and can’t wait to get out into the wilderness
Good review. I'm strongly considering this tent. Thanks. BTW, I worked for a couple of years in the propane industry and I know for a fact that, If properly adjusted, the two by products of using propane as a fuel are carbon dioxide and water vapor. NOT carbon monoxide.
I’m a vendor for Nemo they most definitely do not have a lifetime warranty. They advertise one but once you read the fine print it actually isn’t a warranty at all and covers no wear and tear or any product use whatsoever. It’s only a warranty against manufacturer defects. Which isn’t a warranty. As every company is required to produce issue free goods as advertised or are subject to chargebacks.
Thanks for making this video. It really answered a lot of questions I had. I own the Nemo Aurora 2P and it has been great, but I am looking to go with something a little larger and more spacious, especially when it comes to changing clothes. Thanks again.
Great video. I’ve been looking for a family tent, and I think you’ve sold me. We went to Big Bend last week and my cheap tent took a beating in the wind. Time to upgrade! I love my Nemo Hornet for backpacking! Thanks again for the review. 💕
I like using Tyvek house wrap for a ground cloth. I ask construction workers if they have a leftover scrap. It dries out quicker than coated nylon or tarps and weighs less.
Great review Steve. Thank you. I ordered this tent based on your review. It is now discontinued so it was a tough one to find so if anyone wants one you had better act fast.
I have a question because I am curious and in the market to purchase a tent I don’t see this on Nemos website meaning is it a discontinued item but yet there’s still plenty in stock around the world but sometimes with some companies lifetime warranty usually means for as long as they make it.
It seemed like you did not have a ground cloth with your setup in this video, maybe you skipped for the demo? I am thinking about buying this tent. Do you recommend buying the ground cloth foot print? Thanks for the videos.
Thanks Steve, I’ve seen both your reviews on this tent I think this is the tent for me. I have a nice tent but the pole sleeves are a pain! How do you rig a canopy shown on some of the shots?
I cut a tarp down to size, added some grommets in the right places and attached it to loops on the tent. I ordered some telescopic poles on amazon for the front. It makes a nice little area to sit when it's raining. I tend to do this with all my tents. You can see it a little better in this video at Estes Park: ruclips.net/video/cqlyRvoctRk/видео.html
Great video on a great tent. I prefer this over the Cabela’s Alaknak (Great Tent but heavy) we had, and a luxe tp tent. Very roomy, and as you illustrate very easy to set up! Wish I was west… Happy Trails man..

It is a good tent but I don't like how they discontinued it and made it impossible to find the "garage" addition. It's well made, I can set it up faster than others can set their much smaller dome tents, and it looks good. I just don't know if I can stand behind Nemo when they are so flakey with their products. I could have used that Garage add-on.
@@SteveOutdoors Any #2 suggestions? I would be super grateful on a recommendation for 6-8… I keep seeing ppl recommend awesome tents and they get discontinued… new to camping - what gives?

And I don't care how many times keep telling yourself how simple it is to set up, maybe you will convince yourself but not me.. it is much more complicated to set than mine!
I sold my Vstar last summer when I got my Harley Ultra Classic. The thing I like best about the tent is the headroom and small pack size for how big it is.
Great video!! I noticed in one of your pictures, specifically @ 11:49 you had the door to the vestibule propped open with a couple of stakes. Is this the actual door of the vestibule or something aftermarket that you bought or made?

It will even shelter motorized equipment (ATV's, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.). It usually runs around $200.00
your Mr. Buddy doesn't need ventilation as it is rated for indoor use. What is the highest winds you have dealt with as I am looking for a tent that I can use for winter camping and still allow me to stand up.
@@SteveOutdoors Right now I have a Kelty Typhoon 2 tent (20 years old) that has held up to an F1 Tornado, 3 hail storms and a shit ton of snow.
