Yo Dyreck, Ever since I wanted to learn more about how workflow was in the past before DAW’s & controllers, I can’t even express how immensely helpful your videos have been. Everything from stand-alone gear, to MPC’s, keyboards, your extensive research & your sense of humor go hand in hand at understanding how pioneers of the past have pushed boundaries with some of the limitations that came about. THANK YOU brother, you deserve your flowers 💐 💣 💥 💯
DeReck always great videos, love to hear from the intro 😆 My way of doing the tracking out is to record directly without stop ( sync with a click count or sync with ableton sync on the mpc ) put the daw in the same bpm and play the whole beat for lets say the 4 bars, then start to SOLO one track at a time for those 4 bars ( sometimes you let go more bars if there are long tails ), and thats really easy to cut at daw bar markers and create separate tracks.
Nice! I have a solid midi interface in my 18i20 and Command 8 that lets me sync my Sp404 and MPC 2KXL to Pro Tools or Cassette. I usually use the midi to control the time and sync but track mute certain sounds to isolate the one I wanna record It's like SMPTE but I call it PMTE
That’s how I’ve always done it -I can’t figure out how to set my midi up on my mpc live 2 to be triggered in sync with pro tools to record on time - I have all my other equipment set up like this and works perfectly- if anyone can help me figure out how to set up my midi to work correctly I’d really appreciate it as it’s driving me nuts
Tracking out beatz is such an over looked craft and IMO where the Mix is really shaped and its where you decide how much of the OG sound you wanna keep!!!
yep, earbud manufacturers were on that bullsh, one side would always conk out. i think they purposely designed it that way. you could tell when it was gonna happen because you'd have to jiggle the wire to get the sound in both ears right before it would totally go out
hey dyreck! I would love to see you make a what had happened was on the isla instruments s2400. very cool device that took the concept of the og sp1200 and expanded it heavily(planning to buy one in febuary since its 1800$). I think you would like it. have a good day!
@@thegroove2000 I've had some great results doing it all in the box then exporting the stereo file. Tracking out individually give more control of the final mix but with the internal effects of some of the MPCs or recording with the desired effects on the samples arleady, it can be done inside the box
We aren't gonna get a signature MPC Pad Mute Track Out? Thats another thing I used to do wld be pull up a beat on the Mute Pads and play it for somebody listening or just Track a stereo version of the song
I fix the mix the way it will be then run it as a straight stereo mix from the MPC to the DP24SD on track 7 and 8. Any additional instrumentation I realtime record to open tracks manually. I'm Hard-core with this method of track commitment
I have a bunch of beatz that I love but only have a 2 track or stereo copy of the song like in a lazy .wav form. I wld always say oh when I use this beat I will go back and track it out proper and get a better mix hahaha This never works as planned and is always a headache!!!!
Some folks like to use the EQs on their mixer or daws to tweak even more..I feel you on just staying in the sampler..I ended up doing that alot..But I was lucky to have nice sounding samplers Lol!..If someones sampler sounds like trash there gonna wanna track out or they'll be doing alot of tweaking in that sampler.
🎤 Fortunately my #RolandMC707 has 12 channels of digital out into the DAW. Alternatively, I could go old school and track-out multiple passes into my #TascamModel12 if I was attempting to stay #DawlessArcade 🥁

Thanks man!!..That means alot!..Ima keep doin my thang Lol!!
DeReck always comes with these incredible videos and lessons 😊😊😊
Thanks fam!
Dayummm…you got a picture of my first drum machine, the Dr Rhythm brought back memories.
its gets even more fun when you do that plus add tracks where you just free play along to the tracked stuff!
Word!
Man, I remember panning out the drums in my Roland XP-50 Keyboard back in the days when printing them to an Alesis Adat machine.
Lol I feel you.

Yeah that way is dope to!..I did that recently..Just solo each track of the loop for 4 bars recorded into the daw and finish up the beat in the daw.
I def appreciate this because although I’ve seen other videos this video but it wasn’t in detail with examples like this 💯💪🏾
Thanks bro.

I track out one track at a time and just deal with it 🤣

@@NME_REKsounds like a MIDI life crisis... forgive me, I couldn't resist.
May Yahweh bless you brother love the videos
Thanks bro!..Same to you.

Yup!
Damn, my mid 20s MPC PTSD came back
Lmao!
What about using the Tascam 12 and track out 8 channels simultaneously through that?
I heard alot of good things about the Tascam 12..Ima check it out might have some nice tricks up its sleeve lol.
yep, earbud manufacturers were on that bullsh, one side would always conk out. i think they purposely designed it that way. you could tell when it was gonna happen because you'd have to jiggle the wire to get the sound in both ears right before it would totally go out
Yup!!..Im still looking for ear buds that dont conk out Lol!
Listening on the best earbuds I ever had; over a year before one side faded. I think they put a wire cutter in the strain relief.
Lol.

Stop it …..🤨
No doubt. I did a review on it a while back but ima check it out.
2 TRACK OUTPUT IS FOR THE BRAVE. SHITS GOTTA BE RIGHT FROM THE GET GO.
Make a whole track mixed, EQ in the sampler and bounce the stereo file.
Yup!..I feel you.

Nice workflow! ..Keeps things simple.
Since the DP24SD doesn't have MIDI how do you accurately sync up anything you add?
I just use the 8 outs and put them into my analog wall.

Track out 1 track at a time and deals with. 💪💪💪🤷♂️
I feel you.
I just dealt with it and tracked out one channel at a time. Wish I knew or thought of that last track out method. It would have save me a lot of time.
No Doubt fam.
