Introduction | Ballet Folklorico El Tapatio de San Dieguito

We are Ballet Folklórico El Tapatio de San Dieguito. In the year 2000 the group was established as El Tapatio, in San Diego, California. And in 2014 as De San Dieguito, in Encinitas, California. Together, our groups exemplify the rich Mexican culture through its traditional dances and outfits from the various regions of Mexico. The Mexican Folklorico dance emerged from a mix of indigenous, European, and some African influences within the country. It is a treasure of true cultural expression through dance. Through this art, our members develop knowledge and love for dance and culture. In addition to this, our dancers learn important values ​​such as discipline, trust, teamwork, safety, community, and leadership.
As a group we showcase this art with passion and heart, from the dance studio where we practice weekly, to the stages we perform on to the delight of our audience and community that cheer us on. Every moment while performing and dancing is a moment our dancers, teachers, families, and community will treasure forever.
