    Clever! I like the idea of using a grain bin.

    Very nice work. I love that about farmers...we are able to build stuff that works for us out of materials we either have or can find used as you did here. Thanks!

    Nice farmer ingenuity. Wish I had thought of it but I got a store bought. I set it up inside a 40x60 building. I have switch gates but everything goes through the head gate. From there they can return to holding pen. Got straight on trailer. Go to holding area if we need to keep them up. Or return to pasture. But I really like your set up. We need one on our smaller farm and I'm gonna try to copy your setup somewhat. Thanks for the great idea. Already have a donor bin so I'm ahead atm. Keep them coming I might get smart yet.

    That’s a good idea for a handling system

    It would make sorting the cattle if you put some sorting gates in the chute before the tub. You would need to build a seat for someone to sit on to operate the gates. As you run the cattle thru that person opens and closes the gates depending on which way you want to go, calf on one side and cows on the other.

    Not going to lie, it sounds like that gate that you made scares the cows more than people do 😂.

    Just watched your cattle working pens video, I have a question, how did you secure the squeeze chute to the end of the alley or did you just sit it in place

    I'm looking into buying a Preifert S04 as well and install the trutest HD1010 load bars underneath. if you don't mind me asking, How much did you pay for your chute and was it delivered as a whole unit or was it something you had to put together. When branding cattle does it hold them in place well? is there to room to castrate? Thanks in advance!

    USA cattle trailors don't have ramps on the back like English?

    • @JMfarmandcattle
      @JMfarmandcattle  5 лет назад

      Derek Litchfield not for stock cattle. Some of the horse trailers have ramps but that’s it

    How do you get in to pregnancy check or did I miss palpitation gate.

    • @JMfarmandcattle
      @JMfarmandcattle  5 лет назад +1

      Keith Martin at the moment I do not have one but look into getting one in the future. We do all pregnancy checking by taking blood samples from the tail and sending it in for a better reading. By doing it this way we are able to take samples from the side

    Put a walk through in that spot were you want to put a small gate four post is all it takes a v with a post in center of the v.
