What did I miss or get wrong?
The first 12 bar blues section of Bring it on Home
Whole lotta love should be higher on the list
You did't greet me 😞😢
Nothing wrong with this list. So many classics that it gets hard to choose. "Achilles Last Stand" "Royal Orleans" and "Over The Hills And Far Away" are my personal faves, along with The Ocean, which you nailed.
With Zeppelin the only way you could get it wrong is if you featured something off of In Through The Out Door. I would have preferred their last studio album to have been Presence. Great job as usual.
Jimmy Page is a genius.
Personally I believe he’s the greatest guitarist of all time
Truer words have never been spoken.
Just wanna say love ur profile pic fc bayern is the best
Eh he's not my favorite
@@Veni.Vid.iVici. who think is the best?
Ah yes, Killing in the Name of Moby Dick - my favorite Zeppelin classic.
mutual opinion over here
Imagine if he also played Tool while playing Moby Dick or Kashmir.
And that's how the book ended.
I love Led Zeppelin!
Marty you inspire me everyday to continue on playing, and you really are the best teacher on RUclips. One of the first songs you’ve taught me was a zeppelin song and of course it was the forbidden riff lol.
Love all these. Jimmy Page has so many incredible riffs. "Houses of the Holy", "Over the Hills and far Away", "Achilles last stand" etc. etc. It's a very long list.
Thank you for the great video Marty.
My favorite Led Zeppelin riff is usually the last one I listened to.
Marty you should do some more Boston lessons like “Rock and Roll Band” or “Foreplay/ Long Time” I would love to learn them if you did a lesson on them. Keep on rocking Marty🤘🎸
Hey needs to do (man I'll never be) that riff is so sick!! My grandfather smartened me up to Boston after he raised me on Zeppelin Sabbath Hendrix etc. I'm glad he instilled his musical wisdom into me. Lol
I would choose peace and mind that is one of my all time favorites
My grandfather was the one to tell me that “there are always rock albums you have to listen to once in your lifetime” and that was Boston “Peace of mind” and many more
Never knew about the secret sauce in Whole Lotta until now. That's a nice little gem to include.
You’ve been helping me learn to play for like ten years now- every holiday my dad jokes and asks if he “should set a spot at the table for Marty too,” since you’re like a part of the family haha
Thanks again
For what it’s worth, I think it was the Wish You Were Here lessons where I found you and started off
I know it was limited to 10, but I was hoping to see Ramble On. Both the acoustic and electric riffs are amazing and one of my favorite songs to play.
Out On The Tiles and Celebration Day are some killer underrated Zep riffs and songs. Maybe you could do lessons of them in the future
Oh yeah! I’d love lessons on those ones
Totally agree with you.Out On The Tiles is overlooked almost all the time.
@@acsapataky1453 Yeh. Its just got a sick groove and phrasing. Led Zeppelin three is an underrated album. So great
Babe I’m gonna leave you is my fav
Hey Marty it's been a while since I watched one of your videos. Just wanna say thanks for still posting all these tutorials. I've been watching you since I was in the 5th grade when I first got my guitar. I remember u taught me the very first two riffs I learned. Eye of the tiger and smoke on the water. I just now graduated high school and moving on into college this fall. It's great to see u still making content! I am still not the greatest player and consider myself a beginner at guitar since i spent months and months always giving up and letting my guitar collect dust. I am now playing guitar more than I ever have. I'm playing up to 12 hours a week just practicing the songs I really want to learn.
I find your lack of Telecaster disturbing.
- Darth Fender
especially considering that Marty's got that sexy ass yellow Tele...I was looking forward to seeing and hearing it
Ahah! That’s awesome 🤙
Only 2 of these riffs were recorded on a tele
@@dominickl4456 yes, very good.
Physical Graffiti needs some love! Custard Pie, The Rover, Trampled Underfoot, the list goes on!
Was just thinkin’: You have stood the test of time. Your commitment, while whatever dollars are involved, truly seems to be to teach this complex animal to others. Your playing is stellar. You, what seems, effortlessly show the wrong way and the right way to do these licks. Almost never a missed note. Great work Marty. I’ve been stealing stuff from ya since you started. Funny to look back at some of those early early ones. Well done ❤️
Yeah. More. Yeah. Zep or others. Love the explanations and tie backs to blues classics and / or interactions w pentatonic scale changes etc. Advanced beginner loving these licks. Learning more each day for the past x+ years.
They have so many great songs and riffs it’s kind of impossible to limit a list to 10 🤟
Cool video Marty!
I’m calling it, Black Dog is gonna be in Marty’s top 5, if not top 3
It probably should be. It’s iconic
That’s because it’s like literally the best riff ever
Since I’ve Been Lovin you has got to be in my top 5
Of course!!!👌🏻
Marry do you think you would ever cover the hotel California solo ?
Marry or Marty…?
Marry had a little lamb?
@@kingcrimson2168 lmao
Nothing really bothers her, she just wants to love herself..
Hey Marty, thanks for your top ten favorite Led Zeppelin riffs!! I remember the first time I heard Communication Breakdown from their debut album. I went out and bought it the next day. It is still one of my favorite albums of all time. So many iconic songs through their career.
Hi Marty, this would be an awesome lesson pack! Any thoughts on doing the same thing but in a bit more detail for beginners?
This one is definitely a crowd pleaser! You rock Marty! And those joke videos with you are amazing🤣 I know you didn’t make them but I love how you support them! It’s all in good fun and they are funnier because of how good of a musician you are.
More Zeppelin riffs!!!
Great choice of riffs Marty, “The Ocean” is one of my favourite Zeppelin riffs as well
As a beginner and a Led Zeppelin seeing Marty playing heartbreaker is amazing
So you are a Led Zeppelin....cool(?) lol
Nothing not to like about everything you do Marty, awesome rifs, awesome band awesome guitar player, meaning you man. Love it love em. You're the man Marty. Mitch, stafford Virginia. Keep rockin bud. Mitch
Awesome.
Great demonstration as ever.
Also great to simply watch you go through it
Another fabulously put together tutorial!
Been following you for years, always straight up to the meat of the matter, and an amazing ability to translate the music into simple easy to understand language, you are the best Marty, thanks.
Marty, Love me some Zepplin, but what I love even more is that old school Marantz receiver in the background.
Prediction: (not in any order)
Communication Breakdown
No Quarter
Kashmir
Heartbreaker
Lemon Song
Achilles Last Stand
Black dog
Stairway
How many more times
Whole lotta love
No dude The Ocean is gonna be on there
@@Brewstew2 yeah these were just off the top of my head (mainly just ones I want to be on there hahah)
Loving that old school stereo/record player in the back.
Marty you’re the man! I remember the first time I watched your video on how to play Whole Lotta Love, great times!
Great one Marty, but gotta improve those rookie numbers up to Top20 😁. Here's some suggestions:
-Baby I'm gonna leave you
-Ramble On
-Over the Hills and Far Away
-Dazed and Confused
-Rock And Roll
-Ten Years Gone (electric guit. bridge part)
-Travelling Riverside Blues
love it when you do these. fun to learn whole songs but this is so cool to break down sweet riffs from awesome songs.
Thanks, Marty, for this great video. When you strated no.8 The Ocean, you didn't mention if you changed the tuning from Moby Dick. Did you, you are using the same guitar?
What is and what should never be is an incredible song. Fabulous arrangement.
thanks Marty. what picks up are you using for most of these led zep riffs?
Zepp made songs about love,Vikings, Vikings making Love
Hi Marty, thanks once again! Really great to have a walk-through of such legendary music. Would you be able to do B Movie Boxcar Blues? Steve Cropper if course.
Great stuff, Marty! You are by far my favorite “guitar teacher,”. I just became a “patreon;” thank you so much for everything you do.
Kashmir is number #1 by my count! Thanks for the video
thanks for all the tutorials, you’ve helped me a lot ! 🎸🎸
Is that the new Les Paul standard 50’s? Would love to see a review/demo video of it!
Great stuff. I could not pick just 10. They were too good: The Wanton Song. Ten Years Gone. Misty Mountain Hop. Nobody's Fault but Mine. Ramble On. Achilles Last Stand. No Quarter. Black Dog. Whole Lotta Love. Kashmir. The Immigrant Song. Stairway to Heaven. The Rain Song. Since I've been loving You. Heartbreaker. ( too many to pick ) . . . I'd need a Top 25.
The moby dick improv was so badass
Led Zeppelin is one of my favourite Rock Bands Marty
Lot of time in all those magnificent riffs for Bohnam to brigth like the super nova he was!
Love this format! Could you do this with The Rolling Stones!
I have to learn all of these. Inspiration man you make it look easy.
Your playing sounds soooo amazing!
Thank for the hard and great lesson! Would luv to have your take on Styx Crystal Ball.
Marty, ur the greatest, man. U make it simple to learn. I have a request that I CANNOT find anywhere else. The acoustic version of Things Goin' On by Skynyrd. I know they have at least 3 guitar parts but could b played at a campfire or whatever with just the main rhythm arrangement. I can find the intro no problem, but it's like nobody wants to break the rhythm down for those of us with a tin ear🤣🤣I have wanted to learn this one for years, man!!
Good One! Thank You!
Loved the Led Eminem at 21:00 🤣🤣
Marty dude if u came out with any original stuff and posted it on this account it would get really big. Just keep it in mind cause ur such a great guitar player there’s no way u don’t have any amazing songs.
Great stuff Marty, thanks for sharing. You can never have too much Led Zep.
Fantastic! Marty is killing it....in the name of!!!
You're a great teacher Marty. I watched your videos since I was 15.
My favourite songs of Led Zeppelin are Immigrant song, Good times bad times, Black Dog, Kashmir, communication breakdown and whole lotta love
Amazing picks!!(and setup too)
I like Kashmir when I learned that riff
Just makes my whiskers stand
It just never ends riff
You should do more of these !
Great video Marty! Some great choices here :)
hoi
i've been watch you for 6 years and learn my first song from your youtube videos i just want to thank u for it
What a band
I enjoyed this so much!
Good stuff Marty. I just created an iTunes playlist based on your Top 10.
hey marty, great video :)
i have a question, can you make a tutorial for a match into water by pierce the veil? i’ve been trying to learn the song but i can’t find any tutorials on youtube and the song is in a different tuning so i can’t get the right sounds
I like the concept. You could this with a lot of bands.
Love your digs. But that stereo in the back….cool!
The top on that Les Paul is SWEET
im sorry if im doing this wrong but you take requests either to teach or play right - if so could you please show how to play someone to you by the banners please thank you and love your skills
AWESOME Marty ☺
awesome vid any chance you could do a lesson over face down by red jumpsuit apparatus
What I liked the most is that you didn't have any backing track and you get to hear all the notes
The Rover is my favorite LZ riff
Do your top 10 led zeppelin acoustic riffs
What settings does he use on the boss katana? Great vid ❤️❤️
Great list!

My prediction:
Good Times Bad Times

The Ocean
Immigrant Song
Heartbreaker
Communication Breakdown

Whole Lotta Love
Achilles Last Stand might just be the most badass song on the planet in my opinion
Awesome Marty love it
Love this video idea!! There are so many bands you can do it for lol
Can you do a video tutorial on dazed n confused please 🙏
This is so awesome-more ZEP!!
Can’t wait.
HI Marty do you have any katana patches for Led Zeppelin riffs? thanks so much> if I could get one it would be Kashmir
Aww, man. No Misty Mountain Hop? Great video.
Marty what’s your opinion of the guitar solos in Good Times Bad Times. This came out in the days of Hendrix and Creem and too me sounds just as ground breaking. However , GTBT still sounds powerful today as the other bands sound a bit dated.
When it comes to Zeppelin, even as a guitar player, it’s usually Bonham that I find interesting in their song- he really was a cool fucking drummer, but I agree. That solo was pretty groundbreaking both in the notes played, and the Hendrix-style studio manipulation of it was pretty cool too
Reminds me of all the swells and side-to-side movement Hendrix does in I Don’t Live Today
Nice 1 Marty!
Love the Les Paul
