    It's good that the sunroof motor is there, so if it breaks it would be an easy fix, you just pop the lil cover off.

      I would like that too. Instead of having to probably take the whole headliner on new cars.

    18.3 mpg is not too bad. That's how much I was getting on my 2010 Honda Odyssey in the city.

    I would rather pay for the gas than the high car payment.

      I bought the Fusion outright. Not a fan of payments either

    I’ve had 2 a 98 and now a 2010 continental model and I got rid of a Lincoln MKZ so I could purchase a low mileage TC! I could have bought any car within reason and I sought out a late model TC and I love the ride and how big it is! It’s the last of an era! 🇺🇸 Go buy a civic and then you’ll wish you had your TC back😂

    I regret selling my 2011 Town car signature l. I didn't realize how much more space I got with the long wheelbase, because my Grand Marquis feels tiny, and is tiny for the back seats. Luckily both my wife and I I shorter than average people so for our kids is not that bad.

      I love my Town Car but I agree the long version would be much better in terms of leg room. I mentioned that in my 5 things I dislike video. My Mercedes is shorter but has much more legroom in the rear.

    Not sure if your car needs a bit of a tune up, but I easily get 22-23mpg on both my Town Cars, which for a car this size with a V8 ain't bad. I just went through having 2 of the blend door actuators on my '06 replaced which I had done at a mechanics since I didn't have the time to do it myself. It is a weak point on these cars, but they lasted 17 years, so if I get through another 17 with the new ones that's not bad. Personally I don't think there are many new production cars that could compete with this car, not only for reliability, but also for being easy to work on with cheap parts availability.

    Hey, I'm 6'6" and my son has a 2006 :LTC but it is an "L" and there is plenty of room in the back even when he's driving (he's about 6'3").

      Mine is standard wheelbase but I find it strange that even at 5'11, I have to move the seat + pedals all the way back to be comfortable

    I guess the front bench seats helped with leg room.

    There is a lot I agree but a lot I completely disagree. Check out my 5 things I like/dislike video. The mpg is bad because you are in a city and idle a lot with your remote start. I get 21 - 25 and that is not bad. The defroster is because you don’t want to fix it. And the power trunk is very handy and a luxury feature back in the day.

      That's what i was thinking..... i average 19.1 in the city and 26 on the highway.

    The old intro & out-tro, nice. I dislike the size/length of the overall car and the MPG. I like the comfort above all and the general simplicity compared to new cars. If you really wanted you could swap out the stereo for one with a screen.

    The climate control is a weak point on the panther platform. The Grand Marquis is vacuum controlled and the seals will eventually leak. On the Town car it is electrically controlled and eventually the actuators tend to go.
    But reliability of critical drivetrain components is bulletproof if you perform regular maintenance. I have not replaced a single part on my 2009 Town Car, bottom eventually going to have to replace actuators for the climate control.
    These Panthers are so easy to work on with lots of room around the engine. I replaced the alternator on my Grand Marquis few years ago myself along with the new belt and tensioner.

    I think the signature limited should def had massaging seats since it was competing with the luxury german counterparts as well as the ls430.

    What is that dot under the went at the passenger side on the dash??

  • @RichardWentzel-m2g
    @RichardWentzel-m2g 5 месяцев назад +1

    Yeah it says 18.4 but I don't believe it. I only drive 3 miles to work tho so it doesn't have time to get out on the road on my way to work and takes more gas to run 8 cyl over 4 like in a Honda. But the accord only got 21 on my short commute. It's definitely more but not much gas and I don't care. I love my 06. It's such a good looking car. Dark cherry metallic it's called with that same interior. Bad actuators in dash on passenger side. Blend door still good so far. It just only blows cold on the passenger side if its cold but I'll fix it soon. Any other problems I'll fix them too. I may get buried in it. It will be a huge hole. I'll drive forever. Maybe I'll get stuffed and stuck up in the front seat with my hands on the wheel. Or give it to one of my kids or Grand kids they just have to keep me in the backseat stuffed like I said. Lots of explaining there I'll bet.

    I thought about getting a v8 Lincoln town car. But i dont like the mpg and repairs to the cam phasers, timing chain repairs, air ride suspension repairs, transmission.
    A mustang 4.6l v8 27 mpg and 4.0L 30 mpg get better mpg and parts galore to fix. A pontiac grand prix, buick 3.8L, or super charger version get 30 mpg and the 3.8L is extremely reliable, very easy and cheap to fix.
    A 4runner , tahoe gets better mpg and will out last the lincoln .

    • @summerforever6736
      @summerforever6736 8 месяцев назад

      You compare a 4 runner to ltc??
      Come on now!!!
      Makes no sense

    • @CsalbertCs
      @CsalbertCs 3 месяца назад +1

      4runner nor Tahoe will outlast the Lincoln. I work in the limousine industry, Tahoe and Suburban are much more expensive to run. Town Car transmissions are really good, compared to the big GM's.
      Air ride for example is just a one time fix, you just switch them to coil springs for $300 and you're good for years. Town Car also saves you a ton of money on insurance, so if you don't drive too much, the increase in gas versus a Mustang or Grand Prix is not bad at all.
