If strange beings from another world came to Earth, and asked; "What is this that you call metal?" ......... I would point at Overkill and crank the fkin' volume....
so i was looking forward to buying some overkill vinyl on Discogs i ended up came across this Overkill EP 3 for Sale so i got my First Overkill EP and Brought it from Trenton New Jersey before Christmas happened in December of 2022. i know that rotten to the core, fatal if swallowed, Overkill is from feel the fire and taking over their 2 studio albums but the answer song was never on their Overkill Studio albums maybe Bobby Blitz he forgotten about the song put as a bonus track on their albums. this is probably the Rarest Overkill Vinyl EP came from 1984 that i ever owned from my Thrash Metal Collection as now in the future.
Oh I know that this was one of the first Metal songs. Thats why I like it. The 8th Diesease a my 80's metal tribute band that I have. In fact Overkill is our biggest influence on us. We strive to sound like them, thats y I said that it sounds a lot like my band.
rollforeverderbs I also think this song deserved much more, but I also think they took riffs off of this particular track to make Skullkrusher,so they already put a much slower song in an album, even if The Answer has a monolithic and heavier sound. They already did something similar with The Beast Within and Fear His Name

Glad I found a copy of this 20 plus years ago..DD acted all shocked when i whipped it out for a signature.
some mood has recalled me to the master 'Black Sabbath'.
This should be re-recorded on Overkill's next album.
It's perfect as is.
I would like to re submit this idea for 2025-26!🤘🤘🤘
The Answer the song sounds like their Debut Album Feel the Fire or Taking Over if you hear Bobby Blitz's Voice when he sings in the song.
My favorite OK song!
Does anyone know where i can find the live version of this song?

I don't know what the question is, but this sure as fuck is the Answer \m/
I thought this song should have been released on a proper album. I met Blitz and forgot to ask him about it.
This is the Overkill EP not the Rotten to the Core demo.
Hi, can you upload the rest of this ep? i can´t find rotten to the core from this EP...thank you!
8:02 is the heaviest riff I have ever heard.
Should have been a bonus track on Taking Over. Either that or The Years of Decay.

HELL AWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITS
A very good live band too.
You can find this on iTunes. It's on the album !!!Fuck You!!! and Then Some.
first best song
Sounds more like Black Sabbath than it does Overkill.
first black metal, death metal, thrash metal song.
Um no
Doom metal
actually yes
first song ever
GOOD DRAMATIC SONG INSPIRED FROM SABBATH!
it was more of a doom metal song than a groove metal song
Correct, but overkill has never been a groove metal band. Weird comment
doom
holy shit
this song sounds a lot like my band The 8th Diesease.
correction, you sound a lot like this song
Agreed. Sounds like they picked it apart for songs like Rotten, Feel the Fire, and Skull Krusher. Wish they would just redo it.
@InTheArmsOfGod i hear the doors
Not sure what their official influences were, but I hear Sabbath, Maiden, and Kiss in this song.
They got influenced from motorhead and punk bands and classic. Metal bands
@schtevethepirate you do know that this was one of the first Metal songs written right?
