    When we have tornados' here it sounds like a freight train coming through, and the atmosphere turns a pale green. It gets real quiet before the freight train sound. That's when we know to take cover!

    OKAYYYY Peter, now youre just showing off. Doing a better/ more efficient job pruning these maples, with one hand, while filming, than most of us do after careful consideration.

    hallo Peter, as always i learn a bit more about Bonsai. Thanks for that. If you are alone filming and working, it might be better, to position the camera on a tripod. That makes it easier to

    Fascinating wind audio: a change from Aircaft on Finals to Gatwick. My Maple is at a delicate, but thriving seedling stage so have to be more cautious and be patient for a couple of years. The pruning illustrated here will useful for the future.

    Eighty percent of my 1 yr Japanese Maples have not leafed out. But my Japanese Maples that are older all have leafed out as well as the seedlings. The wood is still soft so they are not dead. I just brought one in the house to warm it up and hopefully coax it to leaf out. So enjoyed seeing you cut the thick branches. It gives me courage to do it too. Thank you Peter.

    The sound you heard in the trees at the beginning is the same sound as an oncoming front that brings strong storms/twisters. I wouldn't call it a gentle breeze, because for anyone in tornado alley, that sound is concerningly ominous. However, I can see how it would be fascinating and novel to someone not used to hearing it and associating it with tornado sirens. It is kind of hypnotic.

    Nice little video , I guess the amount of tree you have it is impossible to keep on top of all of them. I have trimmed my acers for this year, but made the mother of all mistakes on my orange dream forest and nearly killed it , left it out and the frost got to it. 1 night is all it took , looks very sorry for itself right now .

    • @bonsai_wolverine
      @bonsai_wolverine 2 года назад +1

      The branch tips have a high comcentration of growth hormones. When you remove them the hormones are redistributed to the rest of the buds on the branch, allowing them to grow and leading to more ramification.

  • @Blaydrnnnr
    @Blaydrnnnr 2 года назад

    Peter, it's the end of April here now, and ALL my trees are growing so fast, its amazing. ( most of the Tridents and Japanese maples have grown over a foot with leaves..) I knew this was coming, but now, I am a bit confused when to start cutting back the branches that have grown out maybe a foot or more on my small trees. Should I wait to start pruning to shape until AFTER the spring growth season? Or do it now as they are still busting out like crazy. Everything has leaves, wide open, and I just started fertilizing.
    I considered pruning before the leaves came out, but the branches were still cut back from the fall, but then in the past month, the deciduous trees have exploded in growth.

    Hello I just bought The japanese maple collection at my local Lidl supermarket. They were €6,99 each and the collection consists of the 'Atropurpureum', "Phoenix' , 'Garnet', 'Emerald Lace', 'Little Princess', 'Orange Dream' and the 'Katsura. Very sorry that mr. Chan did not respond to my previous comment concerning the Bonsai Limequat and Kumquat also purchased at Lidl Supermarkets. Perhaps one day he might be able to interact more with his viewers/followers here on RUclips.

    Because it's loosing energy and could even die of that? 🤷🤷🤷
