Thank you for your very clear and concise instructions. You are the best one I have heard!
I love the way you explain yourself in this tutorial. Thank you.
This is by far the best recipe I have found for flower paste - many thanks!
Thank you so much Lou. I've been searching for a good recipe for flower paste for 3 days! Your description of each product and detailed explanation of how and why they react with each other is fab!! I'm one of those irritating people who needs to know the why on everything :) Thanks again
Hi Lou, thank you for the amazingly simple and practical instructions!
your flower paste receipt is virtually identical to mine which I have been making for years but I used your sugar lace receipt this week it is brilliant thank you so much for sharing that I will recommend that to my students and name your link to them, thank you once again
I have made this paste and I am SO impressed! Love it, love it, love it!!
Is it pliable and does it dry nicely? I have all the ingredients ready and can't wait to make it :)
It is lovely to work with and you can roll it out tissue paper thin. I prefer to use this to any commercially available modelling paste - even for figurines. Just know that with paper thin flower petals, it is very fragile - but they look so amazing and life like.
Perfect! I'm so happy I found this recipe :D
You're a ROCKSTAR. Thank you
I made it. I live in a dry place so next time I'll use 350g of sugar instead of the 400 (plus the 100 with the tylo powder), other than that it came out smooth and very nice. Soon I'll do some work with it. I'm excited.
Thank you so much! My flower paste came out perfectly!!
Hi Lou i just love your recipe . Iv checked your channel no news from you for almost 5 yrs..hope all is well. Love from Mumbai India
Love your tutorials, so fuss free and straightforward thank you
Thank you very much for the lovely recipe
Amazing recipes! And what I like too is that they're way more affordable. I loved the one to make lace as well.
thank you, very different from when i started 35 yrs ago .
Hi chef.plz with what can i replace the egg white powder ??!
Hi Lou, thank you for this detailed how-to for flowerpaste/gumpaste😁 I started my cakery almost 7 years ago and attempted to make flowerpaste a few times (Nicolas Lodge Edna Cruz etc) and they were not quit the consistency which I was hoping for. Of course the weather conditions are, in the US versus GB (or the Netherlands were I am) not similar and that is a mayor factor to consider.
Over the years I tried different brands, and like you mentioned, one is too soft, others too dry. I tried your recipe and it came out perfectly, every time! It has that perfect balance between work time and drying and is very flexible. And it takes in colors or dry dusts very smoothly😉👍 Thank you again for sharing!
Greetings from across the pond 😉Tamara
Ok I got it ... Did a bit of research
Vegetable shortening is a white, solid fat made from vegetable oils. In the UK it is sold under the brand names Trex, Flora White or Cookeen.
In Trinidad we have the brand Cookeen 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Great Video !

3 tsp CMC Tylos powder
2 tsp egg white powder

I really love the gumpaste recipe.

I want to buy the booklet of guide to icing, Pastes and filling.
I am from India. Mumbai
Can I ask why you use powdered egg white and not fresh. Thank you .
I am looking for a flower paste recipe that when dried the flowers do not break so easily (as with Nic Lodge paste which I find dries brittle). How does your paste hold up to breakage?
Thank you madam!
can you tell me eggless flower paste thx
GRACIAS, MARAVILLOSA
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Can I replace the glucose with corn syrup? Thank you
yes
I was wondering the same thing.
Yes
Ginette courchesne can i replace the egg white powder with fresh egg white
adaora essiet egg white powder is the same as merengue powder (it also has cornstarch and stabilizers but, will act the same), it’s sold at Walmart and is reasonably priced. I wouldn’t recommended the use of egg whites as they can contain salmonella unless cooked or pasteurized. Amazon also sells powdered egg whites but, I’ve found that to be a bit pricey. Good luck.
I love this video thank you for your help
hi...thanks fir sharing this recipe i made it successfully kindly tell me how to soften it if is lil bit hard..
Pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds - or use your hands to warm it up - and knead it well - it feels hard the next day but a bit of warmth will have it back to stretchy in no time!
What kind of board are you working on? I love the paste but need a better work surface.
Lady you are owesomeee!!!!
Im wondering if i can substitute eggwhite powder to real eggwhite... is it possible? Btw the recipe page is gone or unavailable... :(
Was reading comments for the same reason.
Does this recipe need to rest for 24 hours? Or is it ready to use after making it?
Cause i have an other recipe that needs to rest.
Dyind to try out this paste.
Thank you very much for sharing! Just Subscribed to your channel!
Thank you :) we need this in Australia. lol. gets so hot that nothing stands the heat.
Is egg white powder the same thing as meringue powder? Thx for the great recipe
Yes it is
no egg white powder isn't the same as meringue powder
can i use fresh egg white
I luv Lou❤
is it possible to leave the geletine out?
Thank you please send me bakery chef .Thank. you so much.
We don't get egg powder here. How to substitute it with fresh egg whites?
Hi can I use liquid pasteurised egg whites instead of powdered egg if yes is it the same quantity thanks
If you go to their website you'll find a PDF version of the recipe and it has the equivalent of the teaspoons to how many egg whites.
Hello, can you tell me where you get the powdered egg white from please
If you live in the UK you can go to any supermarket and buy powdered egg white in the baking section, look for the Dr Oetker brand x
Wilton has Meringue Powder at almost every Walmart (in the craft section)in the U.S. or Amazon.
Hi if we want to avoid Egg powder??? Then???
Still luv you Lou❤
I can not find egg white and I can not order it online here in my country can I use meringue powder as a replacment
yes
It is the same thing.
tysm
I didnt have egg white powder so I used fresh egg whites (x2 as the recipe calls) but it turned out too wet. Ill give it another try though.
you need the powdered kind try Amazon
We use egg white powder to ensure that it is safe, raw egg whites can be dangerous. You can get it from most supermarkets.
Don't forget that if you are adding actual egg white, you need to decrease the liquid to make up for it.
Has anyone compared it to Nicholas Lodge's gumpaste recipe?
sehr khan yes Nicolas GUMPASTE cracks sometimes
We don’t get egg poder in our country
Красиво !!!!
Is that edible?
yes but most people save the flowers after the wedding in a keepsake box at least they do here where I come from.
I wish I had seen this before I made my gumpaste this afternoon, it would have been much easier.
Its like the rolled fondant recipe isnt it?
looks like, but not since have tylose

Crazy!!! Learn English!!!
@@tinkatonk6683 and why should she? If she lives in Spanish speaking country, there is no need for English. Don't be a snob, English is not the language of the word
I've just done this recipe , and all I've ended up with is "crumble crumbs" would not knead together.
If you live in a dry place you might need a few extra drops of water try again.
I’m sorry to say this gumpaste didn’t work out well I made the flowers but the next day they were all melting and sticky
you must live in a very humid area
Is it possible to use egg white instead of powder
Thank you so much mama
